Cena vs Punk for WWE title set for Night of Champions 2025

John Cena’s next challenger for the WWE championship is none other than CM Punk.

The match was set up last night on Raw after CM Punk interrupted John Cena’s in-ring promo during the opening segment of the show.

Punk reminded Cena that he only had 18 dates left on his retirement tour and would leave it up to him to decide when and where he loses the title to Punk. While he suggested a match later in the broadcast, Cena refused that, and said that if he wants a shot, he has to travel to Saudi Arabia an do it at Night of Champions.

CM Punk was very outspoken against WWE for their deal with Saudi Arabia in the past and even told The Miz once on social media to go “suck a blood money covered dick.” If this match eventually happens remains up in the air but Punk has so far failed to travel to Saudi Arabia with WWE since his return.

Punk and Cena have not wrestled against each other since 2013.
