Brock Lesnar re-signs with WWE

In an unexpected move that has continued the swerve of events that happened during the weekend, WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon announced today that Universal Champion Brock Lesnar has re-signed with WWE. The news was sent to the newswire via a press release.

Lesnar had made it very clear that he would be pursuing a UFC career after WrestleMania and that might still happen depending on the type of agreement the two have reached. Lesnar retained the Universal title last night in a match that was widely expected to go the other way.

Dana White said this weekend that Lesnar is also under a UFC deal as he signed a multi-fight deal with the company when he returned to UFC 200…while also under a WWE contract.

Brock Lesnar’s next appearance is scheduled for the Greatest Royal Rumble event, where he will compete against Roman Reigns in a steel cage match for the Universal Title at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Friday, April 27, at 7PM local time.

No details where given as to how long the new deal is for but a few months ago it was revealed that WWE can retain Lesnar’s services until at least August. Or perhaps it’s only till the Greatest Royal Rumble event!
