Becky Lynch returns to the ring in Sioux City

WWE Smackdown Women’s champion Becky Lynch returned to action last night at a non-televised live event at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

“Thank you #WWESiouxCity you were Sioux amazing,” she wrote on Twitter after the show was over. She wrestled Alexa Bliss.

Lynch has been on the sidelines for most of the month after she suffered a non-wrestling related injury which kept her off the No Mercy pay-per-view. Lynch was supposed to defend her WWE Smackdown Women’s title for the first time against Alexa Bliss on the show but was replaced by Naomi after she couldn’t get cleared to compete. Later that night during the PPV she posted a photo from a hospital saying she’d be back soon.

Bliss will get her title match on the November 8 episode of Smackdown from Glasgow, Scotland.

The Women’s champion will be appearing this Tuesday on the live Smackdown, a week earlier than her targeted return date.
