Becky Lynch discusses her pitched ideas to drop the title after getting pregnant

Former Raw Women’s champion Becky Lynch appeared on The Bella Twins podcast this week to talk about the final couple of months as champion before she had to quit due to being pregnant.

Lynch told the twins that she pitched the idea to the creative team to lose the Raw Women’s title to Shayna Baszler at WrestleMania 36 but “plans change” and the powers that be wanted to go in a different direction.

Then came the swerve…she found out that she was pregnant and obviously couldn’t wrestle anymore. Becky said she wanted someone to quickly beat her for the title but her fiancee Seth Rollins quickly shot down the idea, mainly because of the danger that comes with wrestling while pregnant. Becky then thought that a tournament to become the number one contender with the actual title secretly being on the line would be a good idea but that did not fly either.

Eventually, the creative team thought that having the Money In The Bank so close to the tournament wouldn’t be such a good idea and then everyone agreed that the women’s Money In The Bank ladder match would be for the Raw Women’s title unbeknownst to those participating in it.
