Backlash 2026 reportedly taking place from San Juan, Puerto Rico

PostWrestling.com is reporting that the Backlash premium live event is internally marked to take place in San Juan, Puerto Rico with a tentative date of Saturday, May 9, 2026.

If this ends up happening, it will be the second time that WWE hosts Backlash in Puerto Rico following a very highly successful PLE in 2023.

That year, Smackdown on the eve of Backlash also took place from the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot, with 14,000 and 15,000 fans attending the shows respectively.

The event had the participation of Grammy Award winner and megastar Bad Bunny wrestle Damian Priest in a San Juan Street Fight. That match saw the return of Savio Vega and Carlito, receiving massive pops from the crowd.

Bad Bunny is headlining the Super Bowl LX halftime show in early February and remains a part of the WWE family.
