Backlash 2020 pay-per-view filmed a week in advance

Sean Sapp of Fightul Wrestling is reporting that WWE taped the Backlash pay-per-view yesterday at the WWE Performance Center during the day in what was a very tiring day for those PC trainees who were tasked to stand in for the crowd.

This is obviously not the first time that a WWE pay-per-view will be fully taped since the pandemic started as WWE taped both nights of WrestleMania in advance as well. The Money In The Bank pay-per-view and yesterday’s NXT Takeover were both live with the exception of the MITB ladder match and the backlot brawl respectively, both of which were taped in advance.

The WWE Performance Center recruits had to endure the whole Backlash taping and then they were moved to Full Sail University to stand in for NXT Takeover.

WWE is also taping tonight’s Raw and this Friday’s Smackdown today and Wednesday’s NXT will be recorded tomorrow.
