Asuka reportedly says her goodbyes backstage at Backlash

Asuka is seemingly going to be away for a long time as reports suggest that she said her goodbyes yesterday backstage at Backlash following her loss to Iyo Sky.

The Empress of Tomorrow was super emotional after her match and embraced her longtime friend and foe in the middle of the ring after Sky bowed down to her, kissing her multiple times and then waving to the fans on the way back.

Sky posted a heartfelt tribute to her mentor on X, saying that the moment their match ended, her heart was filled with all kinds of emotions.

“Meeting ASUKA-san, spending the same time together, being able to learn so much up close, these are irreplaceable treasures to me,” Sky wrote. “Thank you so much ASUKA-San. We love you ASUKA-San.”

Other WWE Superstars also posted Asuka photos and comments, including Charlotte Flair, Bayley, and Shinsuke Nakamura, increasing further speculation if this was it for the Japanese star.

Asuka, 44, has been with WWE since 2015 and is one of the most successful females in the company.
