Asuka ends Bianca Belair’s 420-day reign as champion

Asuka has managed to dethrone Bianca Belair, ending her 420-day reign as Raw Women’s champion, after winning their WrestleMania rematch at Night of Champions.

It took a little bit of cheating from Asuka’s part to accomplish the job however, as after she missed with the mist the first time, she had a backup plan in place.

With Asuka resting on the ropes and the referee not looking, she put mist on her fingers and when Belair went for the KOD, Asuka used the oldest trick in the book – raking the eyes – although this time with the misty fingers. She got out of the KOD and hit a kick, covering her for the pin.

This is Asuka’s third reign with the Raw Women’s title. She last won it in August 2020 and lost it to Rhea Ripley on night two of WrestleMania 37 in April 2021.
