AJ Styles defends title against James Ellsworth tonight on Smackdown

Smackdown tonight will feature a WWE World Heavyweight title match between champion AJ Styles and James Ellsworth.

Ellsworth won the right to wrestle for the title when he defeated Styles in a ladder match and won a Smackdown Live contract in the process as well. Ellsworth and Styles already wrestled on different occasions and Ellsworth came out victorious always, thanks in part to the assistance of Dean Ambrose.

The newest member of the Smackdown roster screwed Ambrose out of the title win on Sunday at TLC when he pushed him off the ladder while Styles was out. Ellsworth called it the best strategy ever, and since he already defeated AJ Styles three times, it was the best thing he could do as he has “AJ Styles’ number.” He also said that after he defeats AJ Styles for the fourth time and win the title, he will give Dean Ambrose the first title shot.
