Speaking to JohnWallStreet.com, TNA President Carlos Silva said that the company is seeking a new media rights partner which would enable them to go live 52 weeks a year.
Silva added that the recent strategic partnership with WWE’s NXT has resulted in a “huge audience lift” for the company, thanks to being featured on NXT on CW, NXT premium live events, and social media support from WWE.
“A new media rights deal will help us build a more consistent fan base with larger reach,” Silva continued. “It will also provide us the opportunity to go live 52 weeks a year, and in today’s world, live matters”
Currently, TNA airs on AXS TV which is owned by Anthem Sports & Entertainment, the same parent company of TNA. Silva said that they’re looking for around $10 million a year in rights fees and they’re confident that a new TV outlet will be selected within the next 60 days.
