Matt Hardy vacates the TNA title

Just days after winning the TNA title at Bound For Glory, Matt Hardy has vacated the belt to continue the angle about Ethan Carter III filing and obtaining an injunction to prevent Matt and the title from appearing on TNA television.

“Sometimes leaders have to make personal sacrifices for the greater good. EC3 has put myself, Jeff, TNA & TNA fans in a terrible position,” Hardy wrote on Twitter, adding that he heard that the “first court date is months away.”

Hardy then relinquished the title in a video posted on ImpactWrestling.com to make the injunction go away. The angle was created to explain why Hardy is not presented as the TNA champion on Impact Wrestling since no new shows have been taped so far.

“I am at peace knowing that my family is proud of me & my accomplishments,” Hardy then wrote on Twitter.
