Kurt Angle announces he is not re-signing a new deal with TNA

During an appearance on Mark Madden’s radio show on 105.9 The X, TNA Hall of Famer and former champion Kurt Angle announced that he will not be signing a new TNA deal once his current contract expires in January 2016.

Angle said that he will be taking a break from professional wrestling and will not seek employment with WWE. Angle acknowledged in the past that he did reach out to WWE to return however they wanted him to return on a full-time schedule, something that he was not ready to do. He eventually signed for one more year with TNA.

Angle has not been on television in over two months and has undergone surgery to remove a being tumor in his neck. Just a week after surgery Angle was rushed to the hospital after complications from the same surgery and underwent emergency surgery to relieve pressure from his spine.

The Olympic gold medalist said that he should be able to perform for the Bound For Glory pay-per-view next month.
