After re-introducing the TNA World title last May and officially sanctioning the belt again last month, Impact Wrestling will be unifying the two titles this Saturday at Sacrifice.

Moose, who is carrying the TNA title, declared himself the new TNA World Champion after defeating Hernandez and Michael Elgin at Rebellion last year and kept holding the title unofficially as Impact did not officially recognized it. But that changed on the February 23 episode of Impact Wrestling on AXS TV and he made his first official title defense against Jake Something.

The 36-year-old has been chasing an Impact World title shot for a long time and will finally get his chance this weekend, but will lose his title if he doesn’t win as the title for title bout will be a unification match.

The problem with having two world titles this time around is that unlike the WWE and Universal titles, the Impact World title took the lineage of the TNA title as its successor and it wasn’t started from scratch.
