The winner-take-all match between AAA Reina de Reinas champion Deonna Purrazzo and ROH Women’s champion Rok-C will take place during the January 13 episode of Impact Wrestling on AXS TV.

Before that match takes place, Purrazzo has a chance to add the Impact Knockouts title to her collection as well as she takes on Mickie James in a Texas death match during the Hard to Kill pay-per-view, happening on January 8.

The Purrazzo vs Rok-C match will be taped on January 9, the night after Hard to Kill as part of the fallout from the pay-per-view.

Purrazzo had a face-off with Rok-C during the final ROH event in December and challenged her in a winner-take-all match on Impact. Rok-C was recently part of the WWE tryout camp at the Performance Center.

Big Swole says lack of structure and diversity led to her departure from AEW

During her podcast Swole World, former AEW star Big Swole explained why she decided to leave AEW and her explanation forced AEW President Tony Khan to respond.

Swole said that lack of structure and lack of diversity were the two biggest reasons she left the company, noting she butted heads and didn’t see eye-to-eye with Kenny Omega a lot during her time there.

“It’s fine to be loose, but I like to have a little bit more structure. I felt like the women shouldn’t have gone through everything they went through just to get on time,” Swole said, saying the company added a lot to the roster but they don’t have enough TV time for all the people.

Swole also said that AEW’s biggest issue outside of structure is their diversity, saying there’s not enough representation.

“There is no representation…truly, and when there is, it does not come across in the black community as genuine. At all,” Swole said. “I don’t know why everybody is so afraid to accept it or say it, but it’s not a good look. What happens is, you have this wonderful company that treats people like family, but there is nobody that looks like me that is represented at the top and in the room with them.”

She noted how her daughter, who watches AEW and rarely watched WWE unless her father Cedric Alexander is on, also asked her why there’s no one like them in AEW.

“Then she started watching WWE because she saw Bianca and Big E. She saw herself represented. It’s 2021. Why are people saying, ‘it will take three years for AEW to have a black champ?’ This is a scripted sport. It should not take that long if you have been watching WWE for 50+ years and you know what not to do,” she said.

In response to her podcast, AEW President Tony Khan said that the top two AEW executives are brown and then mentioned the inclusion of Jade Cargill, Anthony Bowens, Max Caster, Dante Martin, Nyla Rose, Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen who all won on TV this month. He also mentioned the diversity in the TBS title tournament.

But Khan had one final shot at Swole in his tweet.

“I let Swole’s contract expire as I felt her wrestling wasn’t good enough,” he said.

Early betting odds for Day 1 pay-per-view top matches

WWE kicks off 2022 with the Day 1 pay-per-view tomorrow live from Atlanta, Georgia, the first-ever WWE pay-per-view to be held on January 1 as seen on NJ online gambling sites.

Today, we bring you the early betting odds for the top three matches of the card as it stands now and tomorrow we will take a look at the odds for the full card.

In the Universal title match, Brock Lesnar gets to take another crack at Roman Reigns with the biggest question being where will Paul Heyman be by the time the night is over. The WWE title will be defended in a fatal four-way match featuring champion Big E against Bobby Lashley, Seth Rollins, and Kevin Owens. Big E is favorite as the winner according to bookies with 3/5 odds with Lashley coming in second at 3/1, Rollins at 7/2, and Owens at 9/2 for the upset.

Becky Lynch puts up the Raw Women’s title on the line against Liv Morgan in the only women’s match on the card. Lynch, much to no surprise, is the favorite to walk out of Atlanta still the champion with 1/5 odds while Morgan is 3/1 to get her first title in WWE.

2021 was a brutal year for WWE Superstars and those in developmental with the company releasing a total of 80 during the year.

Stars from main roster, NXT, and even those still training in the WWE Performance Center all got the dreaded phone call, making 2021 one of the nastiest years when it comes to releases. Some requested their own release, but the absolute majority were blindsided by the news.

Can your doctor recommend CBD instead of opioids?

Once a disregarded treatment option, medicinal cannabis has now acquired its well-deserved place as a means of treating pain and opioid addiction. The researchers can now say with full certainty that CBD may be effective in fighting the painful battle against the addiction to opioids.

Besides, it has been proved that CBD products are more efficient than any other medications, including opioids, in relieving pain of various strengths.

Alleviating chronic or most acute pain has become the number one priority all around the world as it affects most of the population irrespective of age. It worsens the quality of their life, impacts their mood, biology, and communication. A study of patients struggling with chronic pain has revealed that eighth of them are prescribed opioids. The latter are highly addictive, which means that very often patients take more than it is recommended. The consequences turn out to be rather deplorable, as the addictive consumption of opioids results in overdose and then possible death.

 Can CBD Counteract Opioids?

Addiction is generally defined as a disease for it seizes our brain and changes the way it processes the information. The areas of the brain that control the daily and pleasurable activities are highly vulnerable to the influence of addictive drugs. As a result, the person starts to perceive the world through the prism of the drug taken. This usually happens after such drug abuse as heroin, cocaine, opioids. And little by little, it develops into addiction, i.e., the pursuit of the ‘high’ associated with specific drug use.

The symptoms of drug withdrawal vary depending on the type of the drug, and their intensity may range from mild to severe. In the case of opioid withdrawal, the most persistent symptoms involve anxiety, depression, vomiting, nausea, increased heartbeat. Those who go through these impairments and experience anxiety and stress are very likely to turn to opioids to ease the condition. It may go on and on, and, as a result, they develop a dependence on an abused drug. People are generally considered ‘dependent’ on the drug when to function they usually cannot do without this drug. This ongoing process is not perceived as a conscious choice, but rather as a regrettable necessity.

However, the good news is that the use of CBD makes it possible for an individual to undergo a recovery from an opioid use disorder and decreases the likelihood of relapsing because of the withdrawal symptoms.

The numerous studies conducted on rats have shown that cannabis can help wean off the negative effects and symptoms of opioid withdrawal. Medical cannabis, which is made up of cannabidiol and tetrahydracannabidiol, in combination with some opioids has been shown to alleviate such symptoms associated with withdrawal as insomnia, low appetite, fatigue, anxiety, etc.

Besides CBD can decrease the use of opioids for chronic pain by more than half. When taking both, CBD and opioids, as a part of a chronic pain therapy plan, patients report to have experienced less intense withdrawal severity, fewer cravings and side effects, and hence a better quality of life. Thus, it can be concluded that cannabis helps reduce the opioid dosage, making it safer. Furthermore, the studies go as far as to prove that opioid abuse and overdoses dropped drastically in countries with legalized use of cannabinoids.

Of course, there is such a thing as ‘cannabis dependence syndrome’ as well. However, you cannot get addicted to cannabis in the same way as you get addicted to opioids, and the number of people addicted to CBD is much smaller than the number of those addicted to tobacco or alcohol.

Can Doctors Prescribe CBD for Pain?

In spite of all the evidence on the therapeutic properties of CBD, many doctors still do not recommend or prescribe products based on it because of the need for its approval, lack of education, and uncertain regulations.

Actually, three main issues connected with CBD prescription can be singled out. First, CBD is still illegal in many countries; that is why prescribing it is a bit tricky. Second, the fact that it still remains illegal makes it difficult to test or carry out clinical studies to reveal its true therapeutic properties. And finally, the risk of the liability of prescribing any CBD -based product.

The main concern here is that despite its medicinal benefits, CBD has not been approved by the FDA (with the exception of Epidolex) yet, and there is no legal framework for it, which put a medical professional in a bind. However, it is worth mentioning that those countries that have legalized the use of CBD have reported the dramatic decrease in the use of opioids and the number of deaths because of the overdose.

Can CBD Treat Pain?

Many studies have confirmed that medicinal cannabis can relieve neuropathic pain and inflammation, the toughest states of chronic pain. In one of the studies on the pain-relieving properties of CBD, the latter was applied to the skin of rats. The result was amazing as it considerably reduced joint swelling and inflammation. This is quite an achievement, considering the fact that the majority of the population around the world are battling with pain symptoms. Another experiment was conducted on people with fibromyalgia, a condition which is hard to treat without opioids. Those who substituted opioids with CBD reported to have experienced relief of the chronic pain, and remarkably their number is great, and it is still going up. However, the truth is that so far most research on the pain-killing properties of CBD has been conducted on animals and only a small number of experiment involved people. But even with the anecdotal evidence at hand it can be said with full certainty that the future of CBD as a painkiller is quite encouraging.

Can CBD Have Side-effects and Interactions With Other Drugs?

For most people CBD is well tolerated, though there may be some possible side effects, the most common of which include:

  • fatigue or greater weakness
  • digestive issues
  • a change in behaviour or mood
  • weight loss or weight gain
  • problems with liver

Although CBD is proved to be safe, it can interact with other medications, so before deciding to use CBD, you should consult your physician about the possible interactions.

The medications that warn against consuming grapefruit juice should be avoided here too. The possible interaction of CBD with an enzyme known as cytochrome P450 can result in liver toxicity. Besides, using CBD with certain drugs might weaken or boost their effects, making it difficult to control particular medical conditions. That’s why, it is of utmost importance to consult your doctor about the possible interactions of drugs with CBD.

What is The Right Dosage of CBD?

As Epidiolex is the only approved cannabis-derived product, there are no official guideline as to the dosage of other CBD products. But it is recommended that you should start with a lighter CBD dose, which is 25 milligrams, and increase it by 5 milligrams after monitoring the effect.

Some studies prove higher dosages to be more efficient unless they are well tolerated. The most potent dosage may be 1200 milligrams for a couple of weeks if you want to see more obvious results in the treatment of addictions. If you see that it is hard to control cravings you can consume the higher doses of CBD, which is 1800 milligrams.

Of course, the dosage may also depend on some other factors, too, such as the method of administration, medical indication, your body chemistry and weight.

Dwayne Johnson refuses plea to return to Fast franchise, blasts Diesel’s “manipulation”

A month after Vin Diesel publicly called out Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to return to the final Fast & Furious movie to reprise the role of DS Special Agent Luke Hobbs, the former WWE champion publicly declined the invitation.

Calling him “my little brother Dwayne,” Diesel said the time has come to fulfill his promise to departed co-star Paul Walker and produce the best and last Fast movie.

“I say this out of love… but you must show up, do not leave the franchise idle you have a very important role to play. Hobbs can’t be played by no other. I hope that you rise to the occasion and fulfill your destiny,” Diesel wrote in an Instagram post which went viral.

The two had a very nasty fallout which saw Johnson exiting the franchise and creating his own spinoff with Hobbs & Shaw.

But in a interview with CNN, Johnson declined the invitation and said that the two reached an agreement in private months ago that he would not return and did not appreciate that Diesel brought up his kids or Walker’s death to try to lure him back.

“I told [Diesel] directly that I would not be returning to the franchise. I was firm yet cordial with my words and said that I would always be supportive of the cast and always root for the franchise to be successful, but that there was no chance I would return,” Johnson said in the interview.

“Vin’s recent public post was an example of his manipulation. I didn’t like that he brought up his children in the post, as well as Paul Walker’s death. Leave them out of it. We had spoken months ago about this and came to a clear understanding.”

Johnson added that it was unfortunate that his time with the “incredible franchise” ended the way it did but he said he’s confident that the movie will deliver to the audience regardless.

“I truly wish my former co-stars and crew members the best of luck and success in the next chapter,” Johnson said.

Long-time wrestling director and producer Keith Mitchell retires after Dynamite

Keith Mitchell, a long-time producer and director, worked his final night in that role yesterday and retired following the New Year’s Smash episode of Dynamite.

With a career spanning 40 years across WCCW, WCW, Impact Wrestling, and All Elite Wrestling, Mitchell was in the TV truck directing some of the most important events in pro wrestling history. He never worked for WWE and attempts to lure him there over the years proved unsuccessful.

After Dynamite went off the air, Arn Anderson, Sting, Dustin Rhodes, Cody Rhodes, Chris Jericho, Tony Schiavone, and Tony Khan brought out Mitchell and his wife in the middle of the ring for a final goodbye.

Toni Storm quit WWE and went home after triple threat match in Washington

Toni Storm’s sudden departure from WWE yesterday took fans – and those within the company as well – by surprise but unlike previous cuts, this time around it was Storm who pretty much quit.

PWInsider.com reports that Storm decided to call it quits after working a triple threat match with Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks in Washington, DC, and then paid out of her own pocket to fly out home from Baltimore. She requested her release and got it immediately yesterday.

According to PWI, the WWE internal announcement did not list Storm as being released due to budget cuts.

The 26-year-old has not commented publicly on why she decided to leave the promotion but lately talked about being called up to the main roster and spending her time in catering rather than working in the ring because they didn’t know what to do with her.

Roberts praised Tony Khan for going above and beyond all his expectations in trying to keep everyone safe during the pandemic, especially him who is classified as high-risk.

“Pretty sure I got it from family or when I was out shopping,” he continued.
