Johnny Gargano returned to NXT last night on USA Network and got himself booked in a match at the upcoming Stand & Deliver premium live event next month.
Gargano was brought over by Shawn Michaels, who during the show participated in an in-ring segment with Grayson Waller. Waller kept badmouthing HBK and NXT and eventually challenged Michaels to a match in Los Angeles.
But the NXT boss had another idea in mind: he wasn’t stepping back in the ring, but introduced Johnny Gargano as Waller’s opponent for Stand & Deliver.
Gargano’s last match in an NXT ring was at WarGames in December 2021 where he teamed up with Team Black and Gold to take on Team 2.0 which also included Waller. His last appearance came a few days later where he cut a passionate in-ring promo before saying goodbye.
In other Stand & Deliver news, Bron Breakker will defend his NXT title against Carmelo Hayes in the main event of the show.
WWE today announced that the two-time GRAMMY award-winning and global recording artist Bad Bunny will host Backlash on Saturday, May 6, live from the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

“In 2005 when I was a kid, I wasn’t able to attend New Year’s Revolution at el Coliseo,” said Bad Bunny. “Finally, 18 years later WWE returns to the island with a massive event and this time I won’t miss it.”
“We’re excited to bring Backlash to San Juan as the demand for WWE premium live events outside of the continental United States continues to grow,” said WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque. “Bad Bunny is one of the world’s most-popular entertainers and nowhere is that more evident than in his native Puerto Rico.”

Sami Zayn has no more support from any of the Bloodline members as Jey Uso finally turned on him too in a show-closing angle that marked another chapter in this fantastic storyline.
Jimmy had to bring his brother back into the faction or else he would suffer the wrath of Roman Reigns and it looked like it was going to be a bad night for Jimmy, because first he lost to Sami and then his brother was going to align himself with Zayn.
After the match Jey walked over and hugged Sami who was standing in the aisle. The Boston crowd popped huge for the reunion and then both of them threw their finger in the air. But that pop soon turned into disbelief when Jey Uso superkicked Sami’s head off his shoulder, dropping him into the security barricade.
Jey told him he was never going to choose him over his family and then threw him in the ring as both Usos attacked. They were soon joined by Solo Sikoa but thankfully for Zayn, Cody Rhodes came out to save the day as all three backed off.
The next WWE premium live event from Saudi Arabia will be a brand new King and Queen of the Ring, with the popular tournament being brought back as a stand alone event.
The show will take place from Jeddah on May 27 during Memorial Day weekend, one day prior the AEW pay-per-view Double or Nothing.
While WWE held a WWE King and Queen of the Ring tournament in 2021, matches took place on TV shows with the finals then held at the Crown Jewel show, also in Saudi, in October of that year. Xavier Woods and Zelina Vega were crowned King and Queen that night.
This will be the first of two premium live events from Saudi Arabia for 2023 as part of WWE’s 10-year agreement with the Kingdom. WWE gets around $50 million for each show presented in Saudi Arabia from the Saudi government.

The show had a 0.59 rating in the 18-49 demo, down 0.03 from the previous week. It topped all shows on both network and cable TV, continuing its impressive run. Smackdown had 2,352,000 viewers in the first hour and 2,246,000 viewers in the second in the overnight numbers. (Ratings credit: Showbuzzdaily.com)
Three huge matches were announced for WrestleMania last night, including the return of the 16-time world champion John Cena.
Cena, who was pretty emotional yesterday night and had a fantastic in-ring segment with Austin Theory, will get a shot at the United States title after Theory challenged him for the belt. Cena originally said no, but then gave the fans what they wanted. This will be Cena’s first scheduled WrestleMania match since 2015.
Seth Rollins didn’t know his WrestleMania opponent last year until he was in the ring, but this time, he knows pretty well in advance. After facing Logan Paul on Miz TV, Rollins will get the chance to get his hands on the man who eliminated him at the Royal Rumble. Rollins wanted Paul on Raw, but Paul said that he’s a premium attraction and would not wrestle in Boston and wants a bigger stage. The Miz, as host of WrestleMania, then said he’ll make the match for WrestleMania. Paul ended up having the last laugh after delivering the stomp on Rollins.
And a six-woman tag team match has also been announced as Becky Lynch, Lita, and Trish Stratus will team up to take on Bayley, Dakota Kai, and IYO SKY. The match was set up during an in-ring segment where Stratus laid down the challenge.
The Women’s Tag Team titles are expected to still be on the line on night two of WrestleMania despite Lynch and Lita wrestling in this match and one of the teams will be pulling double duty.
Multiple insiders have reported that WWE Executive Chairman Vince McMahon was backstage at Raw last night in Boston, his first time at a live event since July of last year.
McMahon reportedly spent the whole show in Gorilla position, but did not interfere or change anything which was scheduled for the night, so far keeping his promise to stay out of creative.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Wrestling reported that McMahon visited the show to catch up with John Cena as the two are super close and Boston was close enough to travel for McMahon.
One a side note, Sapp also said that McMahon was sporting a mustache backstage, something which we haven’t seen before considering Vince was always clean-shaven when appearing on television.
We are shown the arrival of Solo Sikoa, Jimmy Uso and Paul Heyman. Heyman says the Tribal Chief was very clear on Smackdown but Sami Zayn was not finished and he escaped so that means Zayn will be here live tonight on Raw. As Belair gets back on the apron, Carmella pulls her in and rolls her up with her feet on the ropes and only gets a 2 count. Belair then hits Carmella with a KOD for the win.
Winner: Bianca Belair
After the match, Chelsea attacks Belair, Carmella then joins in on beating Belair. Asuka comes out. Asuka confronts Chelsea and Carmella then leans back and Carmella ducks and Chelsea takes the mist. Belair gives Asuka an approving nod, gets up and they smile and have a stare down while looking at the WrestleMania sign.
Sami Zayn is shown walking backstage and finds Kevin Owens and says do you see now the Bloodline is too much for you and too much for me. But we have the same objective now. And the only way to do this is by doing it together. Kevin said maybe we could take them down together but I don’t want to do this with you. Just please leave me out of it. Kevin says I have been fighting the Bloodline alone for over 8 months now.
The Miz comes out to host Miz TV and the face-to-face between Seth “Freakin” Rollins and Logan Paul.
As the fans continue to sing Rollins’ entrance music, Miz gets upset and starts yelling but his microphone goes dead. Logan then gets a microphone and says Boston this segment has a time limit so shut up.
Logan says Seth doesn’t like him because he is better at his job than he is. Seth tells him he doesn’t like him because he is the scum of the Earth. Seth then says he came there to fight. Logan says he is a premium act and doesn’t fight for free and would never fight in Boston. But he would be open to fighting Seth on a bigger stage.
The Miz said he can make that happen. Seth says good make it happen and throws Miz out of the ring. Logan goes after Seth and goes for a stomp on Seth but Seth moves and superkicks the Miz and turns back to Logan only to get blasted by Logan’s right hand to the face. Seth drops to the mat. Logan then says when you wake up let me know about WrestleMania and oh yeah “Bye, Bye Bitch” like Rollins said to him last week.

Theory says he and Cena for the United States Championship at WrestleMania.
Cena says NO. Cena says he isn’t interested in his gift because he hasn’t earned the right to give it. Cena says he doesn’t believe him because Theory doesn’t believe in himself. Cena tells Theory he will give him a gift, shut up, turn around and get out of this ring and we will let you leave in one piece.
Cena tells Theory that he didn’t say no for him, he did it for Theory because if he takes him on at WrestleMania and Cena wins, Theory loses everything. If Theory beats Cena, Theory again loses everything. Cena and Theory trade a few more insults and Cena says you backed me into a corner here and says ok lets ask them and point to the crowd.
Cena asked the crowd do you want to see John Cena VS. Austin Theory for the United States Championship at WrestleMania. The crowd screams yes.

Revolution last night at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California, had over 9,000 fans in attendance with over 8,000 paid tickets for a gate of over $800,000 according to AEW President Tony Khan.
The figure represents a record for a wrestling event in the city of San Francisco.
This year’s attendance beat out last year’s Revolution by a few hundred as last year 8,359 showed up at the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida.
Khan also said that the pay-per-view buys are tracking around 130,000 to 140,000, which would be a bit less than last year’s event which had around 175,000 buys. The 140,000 range would be the same as Forbidden Door and All Out last year.
Before John Cena was announced to be appearing on tonight’s Monday Night Raw live from Boston, WWE was in the range of 7,000 tickets sold for the broadcast.
Fast forward three weeks and tonight’s Raw is nearly sold out with over 13,000 tickets sold, an increase of nearly 90% in ticket sales according to ticket tracking service @WrestleTix.
The TD Garden is configured to host 13,143 fans so far and only around 71 tickets remain, although around 500 already sold are on resale. With a strong walk up expected, the show will be sold out by the time 8PM rolls around and more sections could be opened.
The last time WWE was at the TD Garden was for Survivor Series: War Games last year and had a total of 15,609 fans in the arena.
House of Black and Wardlow were crowned as the new AEW World Trios and TNT champions respectively last night at the Revolution pay-per-view.
The trio of Malakai Black, Brodie King, and Buddy Matthews defeated The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega in a thrilling match after King delivered the Dante’s Inferno finisher on Nick Jackson. This win ended The Elite’s reign of just 53 days after they beat Death Triangle in the final best of seven match on Dynamite in January. This is the first gold for any of House of Black members.
Wardlow became a two-time TNT champion following his victory against Samoa Joe on the show. Wardlow won the match and the title after chocking out Joe with a rear naked choke hold. Joe held the title for just 32 days after he won it from Darby Allin on Dynamite last month. Joe won the TNT title for the first time against Wardlow at the Full Gear pay-per-view in November of last year, ending Wardlow’s 136-day reign.
Wardlow will now have to defend the title against Powerhouse Hobbs this Wednesday live on Dynamite after Hobbs won the Face of the Revolution ladder match last week.
MJF, Jaime Hayter, and The Gunns retained their respective titles in the other title matches.
It’s going to be a big Raw tonight live from Boston as 16-time world champion John Cena returns for his first appearance of 2023.
The leader of the Cenation has wrapped up filming the movie Ricky Stanicky in Australia and has already hopped on the set of his next movie, Grand Death Lotto. But Cena had a dig at those who said he won’t be on WWE TV in the lead up to WrestleMania.
“‘Experts’ said it was impossible for me 2 appear on the road to #WrestleMania,” Cena wrote. “Guess they [cannot] C ME. It’s never impossible 2 make time 4 family & loved 1s.”
The United States champion, Austin Theory, has vowed to confront Cena tonight on Raw and Cena is rumored to be facing Theory at WrestleMania next month.
Other segments planned for Raw are Kevin Owens vs Solo Sikoa, Finn Balor vs Johnny Gargano, Bianca Belair vs Carmella, and Seth Rollins goes face-to-face with Logan Paul.
AEW officially announced that Double or Nothing will be returning to Las Vegas for Memorial Day weekend.
Three live events will be held that week, with Dynamite live on May 24 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Rampage live on May 26 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena, and Double or Nothing on pay-per-view live from the T-Mobile Arena on May 28.
Tickets for all three shows will go on sale on Friday, March 17 at AEWTix.com.
The T-Mobile Arena hosted Double or Nothing last year with AEW doing over a million dollar gate for a show headlined by “Hangman” Adam Page vs CM Punk for the AEW World title.
For the first time since December, Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood of FTR showed up on AEW television and attacked the reigning AEW World Tag Team champions The Gunns following their successful title defense.
After they quickly beat up The Gunns, FTR held up the tag team titles themselves, clearly pointing out who is next in line for the gold.
FTR dropped the ROH, AAA, and IWGP Tag Team titles in the span of a few weeks, adding fuel to the fire that they might be leaving the company in April when their contracts are up.
Harwood, who spoke about their situation on his podcast before, said that he doesn’t know if they were going to show up on AEW TV before their deals are up. The two took a break to evaluate their position and their way forward.
It is unknown if they signed a new deal with AEW but the fact that both are back and in the title picture suggests that things between all parties have smoothed over.

AEW World champ MJF got in some hot water with his boss following his 60-minute iron man match against Bryan Danielson for pouring a drink over a small kid.
During the match, MJF took a bottle of water from what looks like the kid’s mother and then opened it and threw it in the kid’s face.
Following the incident, AEW officials went over to him to try and deescalate the situation and AEW Community Outreach Ambassador Amanda Huber then joined. After the show was over, AEW treated the kid, named Titus, to a backstage tour and several AEW stars met with them.
In the post-show press conference, AEW President Tony Khan was not happy with the incident and said that they had a serious conversation with MJF over his actions and they’re not taking it lightly.
“The young man, Titus, was a real pro about it. We’ll see Titus again in AEW. I believe he’s coming to Sacramento. I was just with him and he was a real champ about it. The champion didn’t act like a champion there. Titus was great,” Khan told the press.
