Monday Night Raw drew 1,511,000 viewers this week, their best number since Monday Night Football started on September 11. That was up 46,000 viewers from the prior week.
Raw started with 1,627,000 viewers in the first hour, then dropped to 1,522,000 viewers in the second, and finished the night with 1,385,000 viewers. There was a big drop of 242,000 viewers from the first hour to the third this week because the first hour opened at a higher number.
The show was #6, #7, and #8 in the top 50 cable chart for the night among the 18-49 demo with 0.49, 0.49, and 0.46 ratings respectively for an average of 0.48, up 0.06 from the prior week. (Ratings credit: SpoilerTV)
The Judgment Day is once again running with most titles as Dominik Mysterio defeated Trick Williams in his North American title rematch last night on NXT just a few days after he lost it at No Mercy.
All of Judgment Day – including Rhea Ripley, Damian Priest, and Finn Balor – along with an assist from JD McDonagh, all had a hand in helping Mysterio beat Williams.
While Trick did his best to fight them off, the numbers were stacked against him and when Priest slid the MITB briefcase for Mysterio to use, the referee got wind of it and took it away. That was enough for a distraction for Finn Balor to whack Williams with the tag team title and Mysterio followed with a frog splash for the win.
Mysterio was told by Rhea Ripley on Raw that if he didn’t win the title then he should not bother going back home.
Earlier in the broadcast, former NXT champion Carmelo Hayes offered his services to corner Williams in his match but Williams wanted to do it by himself.
Anyone who participates in any of the activities that online casinos have to offer must be able to handle their money. To be successful in any of these games, you must be able to manage your finances. You can enjoy the thrill of online gambling while reducing the likelihood that you will suffer financial loss as a result of your participation in the activity if you can effectively manage your bankroll. You can now even take a look at casinos not blocked by Gamestop on which you can certainly play and earn. By doing this, you’ll be able to get the most out of the activity while lowering the likelihood that it’ll cost you money.
Create a strategy for handling your finances.
Establishing a spending cap for the amount of time you spend playing at online casinos is the first step you need to take to manage your money efficiently. Decide how much money you’re willing to set aside specifically for engaging in gambling-related activities, and then make a commitment to spending no more than that amount. It is vital to spend money that is not needed for daily obligations or living expenditures and does not reduce the total amount of cash that is available.
Establish the biggest financial risk you are willing to take on yourself.
Once you have completed step one, which involves figuring out your financial constraints, move on to step two, which involves establishing betting limitations for yourself. These restrictions will depend on how much cash you have on hand. You will need to establish the most money you are ready to risk in a single session or on a single wager to achieve this. Calculating the most money you are willing to risk will help you achieve this.
Ensure that the accurate distribution of your funds is being carried out.
Bankroll could be effectively managed by dividing your money among several different accounts. You will be able to handle your money as effectively as possible. Set aside a portion of your available funds from your budget for each day or gaming session you intend to spend at the casino. It will assist you in limiting your spending. By dividing your bankroll before each gaming session, you can avoid succumbing to the impulse to wager more than you can afford at any one time. You’ll be able to resist the urge if you do this.
Take part in competitions where your chances of winning are higher than normal.
Making choices that could increase one’s chances of success, such as choosing games with higher payouts, is another element of effective money management. Get familiar with the house edges linked with the various games that are available at online casinos by learning their rules. Online casinos provide a wide variety of games. Compared to other gambling games, winning at specific roulette, blackjack, and video poker variations is substantially more likely. Players should choose games where they have a lower edge over the house to improve their odds of winning and their capacity to retain more of their gains over time. You’ll be able to keep more of your money as a result.
A star-studded NXT is set for next week as the broadcast goes head-to-head with Dynamite.
A Title Tuesday episode of Dynamite, along with Adam Copeland’s first match for the promotion, will see a now-rare confrontation between the two shows and WWE is loading up NXT with some heavy hitters.
The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes will be at the WWE PC for his first NXT appearance and will drop a major announcement, taking a page out of his former boss Tony Khan’s playbook.
The former undefeated NXT Women’s champion Asuka will also return to the show and will face Roxanne Perez in a singles match.
And then comes the main event of Bron Breakker vs Carmelo Hayes with an added twist. Hayes will have 16-time World champion John Cena in his corner, his first visit to NXT, while Breakker will have none other than Paul Heyman in his corner.
Heyman appeared at the end of the show last night via video to announce his involvement.
The last time NXT went against Dynamite was on October 18, 2022 and Dynamite won that battle with 752,000 viewers and a 0.26 rating in 18-49 while NXT drew 676,000 viewers and 0.18 rating.
Collision on Saturday night going against NXT No Mercy and college football drew its lowest viewership so far with just 327,000 viewers tuning in, down 235,000 viewers from the prior week. The show drew just a 0.08 rating, down 0.10 from the previous show and the lowest number ever for any TV show. Collision was #27 on the top 50 cable chart for the night. (Ratings credit: SpoilerTV)
Dominik Mysterio will get an NXT North American title rematch tonight on USA Network just days after losing it to Trick Williams at No Mercy.
The match is scheduled to headline tonight’s NXT program and Dom was told by Rhea Ripley that if he doesn’t win back the title, then he should not go home to mami!
NXT Women’s champion Becky Lynch is also scheduled to appear tonight on the show but will not be wrestling as she is still not medically cleared to compete.
Other matches set for tonight are Gigi Dolin vs Blair Davenport, Gallus vs Butch and Tyler Bate, and the start of the NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament.
Brie and Nikki Garcia will be back on television starting November 17 with their new show titled Twin Love, airing on Prime Video.
Twin Love is a new social dating experiment which explores the love lives of identical twins and comes from the producers of Love Island.
In the show, 10 set of twins split up and are placed in two houses of identical casts where they will begin their search of love.
“With double the fun and drama, the series will discover if their inherent similarities extend to their romantic desires,” the press release says. “When separated from their twin brothers and sisters — some for the first time ever — will they pursue the same identical partners? Or will their choices be dramatically different?”
Nikki is also returning as a host of Barmageddon when the series returns on USA Network on November 13.
The Judgment Day, Cody Rhodes, and Jey Uso will all be appearing on Friday Night Smackdown on FOX this week.
Rhodes and Uso are gunning for the WWE Undisputed Tag Team titles at Fastlane and Rhodes said that with Balor and Priest going to Smackdown, they would also follow them there just 24 hours before their match.
Cody’s last Smackdown appearance came during the Terry Funk and Bray Wyatt tribute episode while Jey Uso “quit” Smackdown the week after SummerSlam and didn’t have further interactions with his brothers at The Bloodline.
Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa are currently busy in their program with John Cena and LA Knight as Tribal Chief Roman Reigns remains missing in action.
Rey Mysterio has joined Kevin Hart for a season nine episode of Cold As Balls on the LOL Network.
In Cold As Balls, Hart and his guest sit down in a bath tub full of ice and talk a variety of topics, in this case professional wrestling.
Mysterio showed up with his United States title and of course his mask for this 13-minute episode while Hart also donned a luchador mask before Rey told him it’s “bullshit” and to take it off…revealing it was an impostor!
The U.S. champ said that part of his routine every morning is to take an ice plunge and Hart said then it shouldn’t be an issue to get his ass into the ice tub. Hart couldn’t do it himself as he was injured, telling Mysterio that he “broke his dick.”
Mysterio also talked about his family, working with his son Dominik, wrestling Dominik at WrestleMania, the origin of his mask, and much more.

On October 1, Adam Copeland through his Delaware corporation Wet Yeti, Inc, registered four trademarks assisted by attorney Michael E. Dockins who helps AEW stars register their trademarks.
The trademarks – Cope, The Rogue, Iconoclast, and Ledgend – were all filed for merchandise and entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
The Ledgend trademark is obviously a take on his previous Edge gimmick name which was morphed with the word legend.
We’ll start with the bad since it’s nice to end on a positive.
AEW – and Tony Khan in particular – have been very naughty this week, so close to Christmas too. In his public comments AEW’s leader was so cryptic as to lead us fans to believe something cataclysmic was coming.
‘Trust me folks, you’ll never forget it, the beginning of a new era,’ were Kevin Kelly’s last words about WrestleDream. A message they hammered throughout Saturday’s show. And then delivered… a regular ol’ pay-per-view with one debut. Overpromising and underdelivering is a very bad business model. Whether it’s a pizza place telling you your pie’ll be forty-five minutes when it’ll really be an hour. Or a wrestling company teasing fans into splashing fifty bucks with the belief this is something they can’t possibly miss.
There are tales as old as time on the perils of telling fibs.
A brief aside – the second half of the card felt very long. Shoving MJF there for some comic relief while opening with one of the more serious matches might’ve been an idea.
And it’s been said before but bears repeating: I’m an asshole who finds it hard to suspend disbelief. So some very lame booking spoiled two otherwise very good matches.
Hangman/Swerve was simmering nicely – hot crowd, Strickland smooth as hell, Page having a one night stand with a heel role and a nice, simple story of both nursing arm injuries. In Page’s case one which took away his main weapon, the Buckshot Lariat. So when he hit it and couldn’t make the cover, there was his get out.
Instead, we had the referee debate global warming with Strickland’s court jester while we all braced for the inevitable. And Strickland struck with the crown. It’s been written elsewhere that those in attendance booed because they didn’t like his winning in a heelish manner. They booed because the finish was eye-rolling, intelligence-insulting and spoiled excellent action.
AEW have a nasty habit of overprotecting guys. As stated above, Hangman had his ‘out’. He had the match won, the damage done to his arm prevented it, so on this night Strickland bested him. Especially given this is a story of Hangman’s redemption. Or supposed to be. He should be forced to overcome a few things.
Likewise, the main event.
If it wasn’t obvious when Nick Wayne hugged Darby like he were going off to war, it damn sure was when he came back out. All the yelling at Cage and hesitating, we’ve seen it all before. Shawn Michaels did the same thing during a Rock vs X-Pac match in November 1998. That ‘swerve’ has been going at least a quarter century. Point being, it’s no longer a swerve. It’s cheap, it’s frustrating, it’s mundane, it’s bog basic, it’s predictable.
And it turns Nick Wayne just a few months after debuting. Again outside of the way it was done, his alignment with Cage is no bad thing. Presumably this mentorship will extend outside of the ring and Cage is a master at every facet of the game. If he were four inches taller and/or Vince didn’t think he were hideously ugly, he’d be a multi-time WWE champ.
Lastly – and after this I’m done complaining about suspending disbelief, promise – we had to watch as Edge ate lunch, showed us his baby pictures, read aloud from his book, ejected said lunch, wiped, washed, drove, made his entrance, posed and allowed for fireworks while Christian supposedly held the chair of Damocles over a prone Sting. But didn’t quite have time to smash downward. They then booked a second ‘swerve’ in five minutes. It spoiled his debut.
To reiterate, I’m an asshole.
Anyway, there’s a point in there somewhere that the work itself was very good. Some more Strickland/Page would be very much appreciated.
Bringing us to the positive.
To use perhaps the most pointless phrase in all of language, ‘in my opinion’ Danielson/Sabre was the best singles match of 2023. And at first it was hard to work out exactly why. Before the reason became clear. It was the total opposite of all the above complaints. It did not allow a crack of disbelief. It was gripping, engrossing and felt like a real contest where every move mattered. Thirty minutes flew by. It was disappointing when the ref counted three.
And Jon Moxley was tremendous in being Jon Moxley on commentary. Equal parts explaining the pair’s different submission approaches and Danielson’s into tantric sex. Howlingly funny without even trying to be and so genuinely enthusiastic it made the contest seem that much bigger.
On the subject of announcing, Nigel McGuinness is magic. One of the highlights of the entire show took place during a duelling chant in the main event: ‘Let’s go Darby/Let’s go Cage!’. The Englishman suggested Nick Wayne’s mum had actually started the pro-Christian side in one of the best lines in company history. He seems locked-in as one of the two constants behind the booth during pay-per-views and it’s easy to see why. So unreasonable toward the babyfaces it makes us root that much harder for them. An ingredient missing among the rest of the announce squad.
And Excalibur had a good night. There was one match in particular he added a lot to. It just escapes me which one. Which sounds backhanded, but isn’t intended to be.
It never feels like we get enough Takeshita. Which is kind of a complaint but not really. Just means dude is awesome. And part of a very good six-man Sunday. Helped by the fact Kenny Omega did indeed carry the load for his side.
Ibushi looked a little better but more importantly was as over as anyone on the show and clearly having the time of his life. Jericho reported afterward that he kept thanking them during the match. And even paused to chat with and give dap to a clutch of small children in the front row. While the action continued around him. Now that’s a babyface.
As was Jericho himself. Massively over on both nights of the weekend. Despite a less than clear turn. So suck it me. Could’ve done without yet another distraction finish. But at least it meant the company continue to put over the new – and young – heel stable.
Smackdown drew 2,303,000 viewers on Friday night on FOX, up 76,000 viewers from the previous week. Smackdown had a 0.60 rating in the 18-49 demo and easily won the night on both network and cable television, with college football on ESPN drawing 0.38 as the closest number. Johnny Gargano returned on Monday Night Raw and came out to save his former tag team partner Tommaso Ciampa after the main event.
After Ciampa lost his Intercontinental title match against Gunther, Imperium teamed up to beat up on the former NXT champion. But as Kaiser and Vinci hammered away, Gargano’s music hit the speakers and he came sprinting out, taking out Imperium with super kicks.
As Ciampa recovered and Vinci stayed in the ring, the former DIY tag team set up the Imperium member for their Meeting in the Middle finishing move but Raw went off the air before the two connected.

The video of Adam Copeland making his debut at WrestleDream was a big hit on social media and the company now hopes that those views port to television when he starts on Dynamite on Wednesday.
The video on YouTube drew over 2 million views in 12 hours while the video posted on X had an additional 2.6 million views. AEW has not had these kind of numbers since the arrival of CM Punk.
AEW also trended on Google Trends with 20K+ searches for the pay-per-view, which is pretty low but they did get on the chart at least. Copeland on his own did not crack the chart despite the publicity surrounding his debut.
UPDATE: It looks like Becky Lynch has not been medically cleared for tonight according to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful so the scheduled match against Tegan Nox will not be taking place. WWE is still advertising her match as of this writing.

During the media scrum following WrestleDream, AEW President Tony Khan was once again asked about Jade Cargill who on Monday was unveiled as the newest WWE Superstar.
Khan admitted that he was surprised by the move and did not see it coming as he made Cargill a fair offer. He said that Jade asked for more money and he raised the offer more than she requested and still turned it down.
Khan said that he worked to give Cargill the best sendoff AEW could give her and noted that she is always welcome back if she decides to return. He also mentioned that he only has good stuff to say about her and there was no ill feelings towards her.
Cargill recently made an interview where she said Khan was the best boss and she didn’t want to be anywhere else but in AEW.
Mixed martial arts (MMA) has exploded in popularity over the last two decades, becoming one of the fastest growing sports in the world. While MMA incorporates techniques from various disciplines, its foundation lies in wrestling. The connection between wrestling and MMA runs deep, from training methods to competition strategies.
As MMA continues to evolve, the dynamic intersection between these two physically demanding sports is shaping the future of combat sports.
Shared Origins
MMA traces its roots back to the ancient Olympic combat sport of pankration, which combined boxing and wrestling techniques. When the UFC hosted its first event in 1993, the tournament featured fighters from different backgrounds including Brazilian jiu-jitsu, kickboxing, karate, boxing, judo, and wrestling. In the early days, grappling-based fighters tended to dominate due to the lack of time limits and rounds. Over time, the sport has become more well-rounded, but wrestling remains a core component of MMA.
Importance of Wrestling in MMA
Wrestling provides some of the most critical skills for MMA fighters. The ability to take opponents down, control them on the mat, and avoid being taken down is crucial. Elite MMA fighters like Khabib Nurmagomedov use their wrestling base to impose their will and set up submissions.
On the feet, wrestling teaches important strategies like level changing, footwork, and conditioning that allow fighters to avoid strikes and initiate clinches. For any aspiring MMA fighter, developing a strong wrestling foundation is essential.
MMA Wrestlers Finding Success
With so much overlap between the sports, accomplished wrestlers have been able to successfully transition into MMA. High-level collegiate and Olympic wrestlers like Daniel Cormier, Yoel Romero, and Henry Cejudo have gone on to become UFC champions. Their world-class wrestling skills give them an edge, allowing them to control fights.
Other standout wrestlers like Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley have also found success in MMA after their wrestling careers ended. For these athletes, MMA provides a new opportunity to challenge themselves athletically.
Crossover Training Methods
The training methods used in wrestling and MMA have greatly influenced each other over the years. Both sports utilize intense cardio, drilling, live sparring, strength and conditioning, and rigorous dieting. MMA fighters regularly train wrestling takedowns and defense to improve their abilities in these areas.
Wrestlers, meanwhile, incorporate MMA training into their workouts to enhance their conditioning, submission defense, and standup skills. Prominent MMA camps like American Kickboxing Academy and American Top Team host elite wrestlers to exchange knowledge. This crossover training gives athletes the best preparation for competition.
Strategic Parallels
In addition to physical techniques, MMA and wrestling share many strategic similarities. They both emphasize explosive movement, controlling positions, and reading opponents. Fighters use setups and combinations to disguise their attacks. Matches feature constant transitions between striking, clinching, and grappling. Cardio endurance and the ability to dictate pace are hugely advantageous. Adapting strategies between the two sports has allowed athletes to become more tactically proficient.
MMA Influencing Wrestling Rule Changes
As wrestlers have integrated MMA into their training, it has also impacted wrestling competition rules. Governing bodies have increasingly incorporated more MMA-style positioning and submission opportunities.
In 2010, FILA introduced the “Grand Amplitude” rule which allows wrestlers to intertwine their legs for better control. Leg grabs, such as single and double leg takedowns, have also been permitted again in freestyle wrestling. These rule changes make wrestling more dynamic and help prepare athletes for transitioning into MMA.
Continued Growth and Evolution
The popularity of MMA has generated greater interest in wrestling as a foundational discipline. Participation in scholastic and collegiate wrestling programs has increased notably over the last decade. As more young athletes recognize the benefits of wrestling for MMA, this trend will continue.
Both sports will promote and learn from each other through training methods, athlete crossovers, strategic developments, and rule progressions. As MMA expands globally, the wrestling community stands to gain from this growth. The intertwined evolution of these sports will shape the martial arts landscape for years to come.
MMA Organizations Recruiting Wrestlers
Major MMA promotions like the UFC, Bellator, and PFL have made a concerted effort to recruit standout wrestlers over the years. They scout NCAA Division 1 wrestlers, national champions, and Olympians to help build their talent pool.
These organizations provide financial incentives and development opportunities to entice wrestlers to transition into MMA. Some of the sport’s biggest stars like Brock Lesnar and Ronda Rousey were signed directly from college wrestling programs.
The influx of elite wrestling talent has elevated the caliber of competition across MMA. Meanwhile, the exposure and paydays MMA offers have become increasingly attractive for wrestlers looking for a new athletic challenge after college.
Conclusion
MMA and wrestling have developed a symbiotic relationship that has impacted both sports’ trajectories. The extensive crossover between the two will likely only deepen over time. As fans enjoy watching the highest levels of competition, new generations of aspiring fighters and wrestlers will work diligently to rise up the ranks. The mat chronicles of these athletes will write the next chapters in the intersecting histories of MMA and wrestling. Those keeping an eye on the latest FanDuel MMA odds will get a glimpse into how these sports continue pushing one another to new heights.
