Trish Stratus will be hosting tonight’s Money In The Bank premium live event.
The WWE Hall of Famer appeared at yesterday’s Kickoff party to hype up the crowd and urged the Toronto fans to “show up.”
Stratus yesterday uploaded a video on her social media hinting that she will be at the show and later the news was announced that she would serve as the host.
She last appeared on WWE television at Payback last year, losing a cage match to Becky Lynch.
Mariah May is going to the final of the Owen Hart Cup tournament.
The British star, who defeated Saraya during the Zero Hour show last Sunday, defeated former AEW Women’s champion Hikaru Shida in the semi final yesterday on Rampage.
The final will now pit May vs Willow Nightingale at next week’s Dynamite with the winner receiving a title shot at All In at Wembley Stadium.
The men’s final will have Bryan Danielson vs the winner of tonight’s semi final between Jay White and Hangman Page which will take place on Collision.
There are new WWE Tag Team champions in town as Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano defeated Grayson Waller and Austin Theory on Smackdown in the main event of the show.
This is DIY’s first run with the tag belts on the main roster, having previously won the NXT Tag Team titles. In fact, they won the titles in the same building where they won the NXT titles eight years earlier.
WWE CCO Triple H wrote on X, “So much history here. @JohnnyGargano & @CiampaWWE stepped into the same building where they first won tag team gold… and did it all over again. Congrats to #DIY, your NEW @WWE Tag Team Champions.”
He also posed with the two in the same way he did eight years prior, uploading both pictures side-by-side.
This title change ends the run of A-Town Down Under who won the titles at WrestleMania 40.
Kevin Owens revealed yesterday on Smackdown that his mother has been admitted in a Quebec hospital for the past week and is “fighting like hell.”
In the in-ring promo along with Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton, Owens said that he got a call on Monday morning from his father, telling him to come home now.
“I jumped on a flight and I flew back to Quebec and that’s where I’ve been for the last five days or so,” Owens told the Toronto crowd. “In the same hospital where she gave birth to me, with my dad and my brother at her bedside, watching her fight like hell!”
He said that the Toronto shows are always special for him and his family because all the family gets together to enjoy wrestling.
“But my dad and my mom are not here tonight. They won’t be here tomorrow because my mom is still in that hospital bed fighting like hell,” he continued.
Owens said that he could have stayed home and it would not have been a problem from WWE’s side, but it would have been a problem for his mother.
“Because ever since I was 11 years old and I discovered professional wrestling and WWE, she did everything she could – along with my dad – to make sure I would realize my dream, get to WWE,” Owens said. “She wanted me to fight like hell. She told me every single time to come in here and leave it all in the ring. So if she knew, if she heard, that I had missed a show because of her, she’d be so pissed!”
Owens then warned The Bloodline that he’s more serious than he’s ever been in his career and tomorrow night, be it win, lose, or draw, he’s going to do what his mother has always wanted him to do for the past four years: kick the living hell out of them!
The Forbidden Door fallout episode of Dynamite this week drew 688,000 viewers, up 8,000 viewers from the prior week. The show had a 0.23 rating in 18-49, up 0.01 from the previous episode, and considering it was on the eve of Independence Day, it has to be considered a very good number. No cable rankings are available. (Ratings credit: PWTorch.com)
WWE is back on Peacock and WWE Network for Money In The Bank tomorrow night, one of the most popular premium live events on the calendar.
Five matches are on the card and today we’ll take a look at the early betting odds before we update them tomorrow night hours before the show.
In the World Heavyweight title match, champion Damian Priest is the favorite to keep his gold and his place in Judgment Day with odds of 4/9, while Seth Rollins is 6/4 to regain the title.
Bookmakers think a new Intercontinental champion will walk out of the Scotiabank Arena as Bron Breakker is 11/20 and favorite to win the title against champion Sami Zayn whose odds are 5/4.
Are you ready to yeet? Jey Uso is favorite to be the new Mr Money in the Bank with 1/2 odds in this ladder match. Drew McIntyre is 2/1, Chad Gable is 3/1, Carmelo Hayes and LA Knight are 5/1, and Andrade El Idolo is unlikely with 14/1 odds.
In the women’s ladder match, Tiffany Stratton is the favorite to be the new MITB briefcase holder with odds of 2/5. Chelsea Green is 6/4, Lyra Valkyria has odds of 33/10, Naomi is 7/1, Iyo Sky is 9/1, and Zoey Stark is 17/1.
In the final match, The Bloodline are 1/4 favorites to defeat Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens, and Randy Orton in a six-man tag team match, with the faces having odds of 5/2.
WWE will have three back-to-back-to-back shows at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto starting tonight with Friday Night Smackdown.
The shows continue tomorrow with Money In The Bank and then Sunday with NXT Heatwave before the company heads to Ottawa for Raw on Monday night.
Tonight’s Smackdown has over 16,000 tickets distributed already, making it one of the biggest Smackdowns of the year. Money In The Bank is the most-sold with over 17,000 already out and will be legit sold out by the time the show kicks off tomorrow. Sunday’s NXT Heatwave has over 10,000 distributed, which is fantastic for NXT considering their weekly TV is in front of less than 400 people.
With over 43,000 tickets sold in total, it will be another very, very successful weekend for WWE, a company which continues to smash record after record.
Their next premium live event, SummerSlam, has over 46,000 tickets already booked.
WWE champion Cody Rhodes came to the rescue of a disabled fan who won tickets for Money In The Bank and was later told that accessible seats were sold out and he would not be able to go.
Mike Ashkewe won a Toys ‘R’ Us Canada competition for MITB tickets but he received bad news when he was told by Toys ‘R’ Us that accessibility seating were all out and there was no way for him to go.
“At this time we can offer you the cash value for the prize ($301.99) as indicated in the rules and regulations of the contest, or the current admission tickets. Please let us know your preference and we will expedite your prize,” the e-mail notification said.
Ashkewe voiced his disappointment on X, tagging WWE, The Usos, Drew McIntyre, Seth Rollins, and Cody Rhodes, saying he was going to miss out on a cool experience because he’s wheelchair-bound.
But hours later, the situation was rectified.
“So @CodyRhodes just called me. I am in shock and awe,” he wrote. “Like, the American Nightmare made a Canadian dream. Like wow. I am speechless. Thank you @wwe for everything and making this happen.”
Replying to his post, Rhodes told him to enjoy the show and credited WWE and Scotiabank Arena for jumping in to help.
Ashkewe also added that WWE contacted him directly to apologize for what happened and assured him that he would be going to the show with all his accessibility needs covered.
WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus wrote on X that she will be at the Money In The Bank premium live event tomorrow live from her hometown of Toronto.
Stratus also posted a video getting in a Ferrari – with STRATUS as the license plate – as she drives in the streets of Toronto and stopping right in front of the Scotiabank Arena, the home of tonight’s Smackdown, tomorrow’s MITB, and Sunday’s NXT Heatwave.
“See you tomorrow Toronto,” she wrote, tagging the WWE and TKO accounts and using the #MITB hashtag.
Stratus returned for an extended time last year but exited after she lost a cage match to Becky Lynch at Payback. After the match, Zoey Stark turned on Stratus after the Hall of Famer slapped her.
MxM Collection, the artists formerly known as Maximum Male Models in WWE, will soon be arriving in Ring of Honor after their vignette aired on ROH TV last night.
The duo, Mace and Mansoor, were released from WWE in September 2023 and continued with their model gimmicks while wrestling on the independent scene. They are now going with the names of Mason Madden and Mansoor.
They had been rumored to be coming to either AEW or ROH for quite a few weeks now and credit to them, they have continued to get over with the crowd with a questionable gimmick which they were given in the first place.
The two also appeared for Soft Ground Wrestling in Uganda, helping the wrestling-mad group raise money for their promotion.
Joe Hendry and Frankie Kazarian were the last two TNA stars to qualify for the TNA World title six-way elimination match at Slammiversary after last night’s Impact on AXS TV.
Kazarian defeated Mike Santana in the first qualifier while Hendry defeated Jake Something in the main event to advance, and will now join Nic Nemeth, Josh Alexander, Steve Maclin, and TNA World champion Moose in the match and main event of Slammiversary.
Slammiversary will take place on Saturday, July 20 live from the Verdun Auditorium in Montreal, Canada.
ROH champion Mark Briscoe is the first member of Team AEW in the upcoming Blood & Guts match against The Elite.
Cutting a promo on Dynamite last night, Briscoe said it’s Shark Week and when he thinks of that, he thinks of blood, of blood and guts, and in three weeks time from Nashville, it’s Blood & Guts with Team AEW vs The Elite, and he was entering the match as part of Team AEW.
He is the first of five who will be on the team, with The Elite still hunting for their fifth and final member. Last night, The Elite tried to get Hangman Page back on board after they suspended him a few months ago, but Page didn’t want any of it.
This is the fourth edition of Blood & Guts, a concept similar to WarGames which was introduced in 2021.

In her newsletter this week, double champ Mercedes Mone detailed her encounter with Shane McMahon at an airport after Forbidden Door.
News broke out earlier this week about the meeting between the two, which was unplanned, and both were going to different destinations from the same airport.
“After it all, by only the fates aligned – I walked into the airport, was in line by the bagel shop when I suddenly looked up, and there he was, just as surprised as I was,” Mone wrote. “My first day being a double title holder and the first wrestler and former WWE Superstar I see is McMahon…come on, if that isn’t the universe working in divine timing, I don’t know what else it could be!”
Mone said that she always loved Shane and when the two locked eyes, both of them looked at each other as if saying, ‘is that you!?’
“Our faces lit up as we got to talking a bit and before he boarded his flight, he gave me his number…the rest as they say history or maybe a mystery!”
The encounter comes amidst rumors that McMahon reached out to some AEW stars who he knows to gauge interest about a possible run with the company as a performer.
AEW President Tony Khan said that he never met Shane McMahon in his life but he respects him both as a performer and as an executive, adding that the door is always open for him to come to AEW.

Bryan Danielson reached the final of the Owen Hart Cup tournament after he defeated PAC in the opening match of Dynamite last night.
Danielson will now face the winner of Hangman Page vs Jay White on next week’s episode live from Calgary. He has often said that since his in-ring career is winding down, this is the last chance at getting a shot at the AEW World title.
Willow Nightingale also advanced to the final after she beat her former friend Kris Statlander in last night’s semi final. She now faces the winner of Mariah May vs Hikaru Shida which takes place on Rampage this Friday.
Nightingale won last year’s Owen Hart Cup tournament but the stakes are higher this year with an AEW Women’s title shot on the line in London.
NXT ratings continued to crash this week, with the show doing just 542,000 viewers, down 69,000 viewers from the prior week. This was the least-watched episode of 2024. In the 18-49 demo, NXT had a 0.15 rating, down 0.03 from the previous episode and the lowest since April 30. (Ratings credit: Wrestlenomics)
Hangman Page made his return to AEW as the wildcard pick in the Owen Hart Cup tournament, defeating Jeff Jarrett to advance to the next round.
Page has been off AEW television since Revolution and his last match came in a three-way match against Swerve Strickland and Samoa Joe for the AEW World title.
There were rumors leading up to the show that Page might not make it to the pay-per-view due to some personal issues, but Page wrestled that show and then took a hiatus, with The Young Bucks announcing that he was being suspended from The Elite.
Speaking of the Bucks, Matthew and Nicholas Jackson offered Page the fifth spot on their team for Blood & Guts but Page refused.
Page now wrestles Jay White on Saturday at Collision in the semi final match of the tournament.
The returning Britt Baker made her intentions very clear last night on Dynamite and challenged Mercedes Mone at the upcoming All In pay-per-view in Wembley.
Baker told Mone that she wrestled at the first All In in Chicago and then went all in by becoming the first female to sign for AEW. She added that she also wrestled at All In last year while Mone looked like a broken bitch with a broken leg in the stands.
“So I want to face you at All In,” Baker said.
Mone shoved her hand in Baker’s face and told her that she’s never broke, she stays rich, and since the double champion, there’s a long list of wrestlers that want her so she better get in the back of the line, bitch.
DMD got in Mone’s face and said, “Bitch, what line?” as she looked behind her.
Mone then told her that there’s a price to pay if you mess with Mercedes Mone and held her two titles above her head to end the segment.
Earlier in the segment, Baker revealed she was admitted to a hospital for a week after suffering from spins and blurry vision and the entire right side of her body stopped working, with doctors telling her she suffered a mini stroke.
Britt Baker has some thoughts about the TBS and NEW NJPW Strong Women’s champion!

The long awaited WrestleMania XL: Behind the Curtain documentary was finally released in its entirety last night on WWE’s YouTube channel.
The documentary covers the road leading up to WrestleMania XL and the decisions that had to be taken following the fans’ backlash when Cody Rhodes was taken out of the main event so The Rock could headline with Roman Reigns.
In a rare move, WWE decided to pivot and give the fans actually what they want, with The Rock saying that he did not like the fans being upset, which “bugged the shit” out of him, and it was his choice to turn it around and push for Cody vs Roman instead while he turned heel.
The one-hour documentary already has over half a million views at time of this writing and you can see it below.
