Stephanie Vaquer crowned new WWE Women’s World champion

The WWE Women’s World title is no longer vacant and a new champion was crowned last night at Wrestlepalooza.

Coming in a month later than expected, Stephanie Vaquer defeated former champion Iyo Sky in the best match of the night for her first title on the main roster. Vaquer pinned Sky after landing her picture-perfect Spiral Tap finisher.

The two hugged after the match and Sky handed Vaquer her title. Vaquer’s father, who flew in from Chile, was at ringside and she went over to him for a long hug and gave him the title to celebrate afterward.

Vaquer was supposed to take on Naomi for the title at Clash in Paris last month but the match was bumped from the card after Naomi announced she was pregnant and relinquished the title.

WWE debuts new signature intro

WWE logo

WWE debuted a new signature open last night at Wrestlepalooza, changing the superhero-like signature of the past two years to one that honors many WWE Superstars of the past and the present.

The intro is still voiced by Triple H who does the “Then, Now, Forever, Together” line.

The likes of Andre The Giant, Dusty Rhodes, Gorilla Monsoon, Mean Gene Okerlund, Macho Man, Jimmy Snuka, Mankind, The Rock, Steve Austin, Lita, Bret Hart, Trish Stratus, Cody Rhodes, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, CM Punk, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Jey Uso, Bianca Belair, Rhea Ripley, The New Day, Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, Triple H, and several others are featured.

The 30-second intro ends with a shot of thousands of WWE fans doing the Yeet hand gesture in a stadium along with the WWE logo and “Together” underneath.

Tony Khan with an “important announcement” on Dynamite next week

Tony Khan is back to his “important announcement” teases, something he has not done in a while.

The AEW President will be on Dynamite next week live from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and will be making an important announcement for the crowd and everyone watching at home.

There was no hints at what this announcement would be about. This tactic was used a lot of times in the past in a bid to put more eyeballs on that week’s Dynamite, and while some announcements were worth the hype, others just fell flat.

Jey Uso bleeds hard way after freak chair accident during tag match

Jey Uso was a bloody mess towards the end of his match with Jimmy against The Vision after a freak accident following a chair shot.

Jey hit Bron Breakker with a chair to the back but the chair bounced violently back and split Jey’s head, causing an immediate flow of blood coming out from a nasty, nasty wound.

The match went to a quick end following that after Breakker speared both Usos through a table and then held Jey down for a tsunami by Reed.

The ring mat was full of blood, and so was Breakker. Ringside physicians quickly attended to Jey in the ring to try and stop the bleeding and stayed there throughout the whole replays.

Pac returns at All Out following nearly six months out

The Death Riders are back in full force after Pac returned at All Out last night, helping Jon Moxley defeat Darby Allin in a coffin match.

The British star attacked Allin after Allin had choked Moxley out with a plastic bag and was about to win the match. He powerbombed Allin on top of the coffin and then placed him in a bodybag before putting him in the coffin. Moxley then just shut the top of the coffin to win the match.

Pac has been out of action since April of this year and last wrestled on the April 9 episode of Dynamite against Swerve Strickland where he suffered a leg injury.

Paul Heyman makes the ring introduction for Brock Lesnar at Wrestlepalooza

Brock Lesnar had an ace up his sleeve for his ring introduction last night at Wrestlepalooza…his former advocate Paul Heyman.

After Raw ring announcer Alicia Taylor introduced John Cena and was about to start her introduction for his opponent, a “Ladies and Gentlemen” was heard on the speakers and out came Paul Heyman to the ring.

Heyman went up on the ring apron and high-fived a smiling Lesnar and did his usual ring introduction for the former champion, introducing him as the, “17-seeing, GOAT-slaying, Cena-conquering, former NCAA, UFC, WWE Undisputed Heavyweight champion of the world, the last real ass-kicker, Brock Lesnar.”

Heyman, who was making his first televised appearance since SummerSlam, did not stick around for the match but accompanied The Vision for their tag team match.

It was Lesnar’s first match since SummerSlam 2022 and his loss against Cody Rhodes. Lesnar destroyed the hell out of Cena to the point that kids in the crowd were shown crying.

Lesnar and Heyman had an interaction backstage at Smackdown on Friday, with Lesnar telling Heyman that they need to talk.

Kris Statlander wins the AEW Women’s title at All Out

The “Timeless” era of the AEW Women’s World title is over after a surprise loss at All Out last night.

The title was being defended in a four-way match which included Kris Statlander, Thekla, and Jamie Hayter and it was Statlander who managed to get a pin on the champion, dethroning Storm after 217 days with the crown.

This is the first AEW Women’s championship for Statlander and her second title over all after a run with the TBS title a few years ago.

It was her fourth attempt at the AEW Women’s title since she started with the company back in 2019.

Stephanie McMahon surprised with Hall of Fame announcement by The Undertaker

Stephanie McMahon got a major surprise last night at Wrestlepalooza as her appearance sitting at ringside came with a little something extra.

The Undertaker came out to his American Badass theme song and a bike and stopped right in front of McMahon, who was sitting at ringside with her podcast co-host Elyse Dudzinski. Taker grabbed the mic and asked if he could join her in the seat next to her.

He told her that he was in Vegas last weekend for the fight and turned around and there she was. Today he was in Indianapolis, he turns around, and there she is again.

“Are you following me?” Taker asked as the crowd laughed. Stephanie replied that she’s been following him for a very long, long time.

Taker then said he’s always wanted to do this but never got the chance and asked the crowd if they’re ready. He then said it is his esteemed honor to announce that McMahon is the first person to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2026.

A shocked McMahon turned emotional and had a long embrace with The Undertaker as Michael Cole on commentary said that her leadership at WWE helped many along the years. McMahon got a standing ovation from the crowd and then got another hug from Nick Khan’s son and Nick Khan himself, who was ringside for the whole show.

She becomes the second McMahon to be inducted into the Hall of Fame following her grandfather Vincent J. McMahon.

Jack Perry returns, reunites with Luchasaurus

Jack Perry returned at All Out last night following several teases on the BTE videos by The Young Bucks.

The former TNT champion came out during the four-way tag team title ladder match to go after The Bucks but they double teamed him quick. As they were going to hit the BTE trigger, the lights went out and a video aired of Perry digging a hole and bringing someone out of a coffin.

Perry is then shown bringing Luchasaurus back to life and when the lights came back on, Killswitch was behind The Bucks, and chokeslammed both of them. Killswitch then removed the belt bearing his name and threw it away as the two hugged in the ring with their old theme song playing.

This was Perry’s first time on AEW television since November 2024. His last match came for New Japan Pro-Wrestling at their Wrestle Dynasty show in January.

Beth Copeland makes AEW debut at All Out

Beth Copeland, the wife of Adam Copeland, made her AEW debut last night at All Out, coming to assist her husband and Christian Cage in their tag team match against FTR.

Beth, the artist formerly known as Beth Phoenix in WWE, came out to even the odds following Stokely Hatahway’s several interference. She speared Hathaway for his trouble and took him backstage, leaving the match without any more interference.

After Copeland and Cage won, she came out again to the ring to celebrate with them. They were confronted by Nick Wayne, Mother Wayne, and Kip Sabian, who offered a distraction for FTR to once again attack.

Adam was handcuffed but Beth decided to go all out on FTR, returning the favor. Unfortunately for her, she got a second rope spike piledriver for her trouble as her husband watched.

Adam Copeland pays homage to John Cena at All Out

Adam Copeland paid homage to John Cena during his tag team match at All Out, reciprocating Cena’s gesture when he did the spear a few weeks ago on Raw in his match against Sami Zayn.

Copeland picked up Cash Wheeler in a spinning back suplex and then he did the you can’t see me hand gesture as fans chanted along, obviously realizing what was going to happen. Copeland hit the five knuckle shuffle and then the Attitude Adjustment but it was only a two-count as Wheeler kicked out.

The commentary team did not say a word during the whole thing but Bryan Danielson did note afterward that what Copeland did was an homage to one of his biggest rivals without mentioning Cena’s name.

The clip was uploaded on the AEW X account, with the words “We see what you did there.”

Wrestlepalooza 2025 pick’em report

Wrestlepalooza

Hello everybody! It’s @TheMagnumDA with another installment of the Pick’em report! This time, for the first time ever, we’ll be LIVE on ESPN (Netflix internationally) with WWE Wrestlepalooza! As of right now, there’s five announced matches (Women’s title match was held off until next week’s Smackdown), but Colin and I will play it straight with a traditional pick’em. Colin won the WOPC title at our last Pick’em, so this time I am back for revenge! What are we waiting for?

ON WITH THE PICKS!

John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar

Magnum: Wow, this OPENS the show. I am here for it. The first match ever on ESPN will feature these two, and it will likely be as gruesome and as violent of a match that Extreme Rules 2012 was. I was there for that match, and it was unlike anything I’ve ever seen…and I have seen it all! Anyways, I don’t know if Lesnar will be back after this (he really should go away until the lawsuit is over), so keeping that in mind, I’ll take Cena to win in a bloodbath.

Colin: Is it going to be a quick one or is it going to be a proper match? You never know with Lesnar. I can’t see him losing to be honest, Cena is on the way out, he doesn’t NEED to win here. Bringing back Lesnar after two years out and then job him tonight doesn’t make much sense to me. I say Brock wins.

Women’s World Championship (title vacated)
Iyo Sky vs. Stephanie Vaquer

Magnum: I’ve been looking forward to Stephanie Vaquer getting this title shot. The news about Naomi caused Stephanie’s push to suddenly end. From there, she was supposed to be in a contract signing that didn’t pan out on TV, and we’ve seen her in scattered, random appearances. It was only recently that she crossed paths with Iyo, who has a very deep, simmering thing happening with the Kabuki Warriors. Ultimately, you have a path to go if Iyo wins the championship, especially if Asuka causes her to win the title. I wish things were better for Vaquer, but time and happenstance seemed to pass her by. Iyo Sky wins.

Colin: This is probably going to be the match of the night. Actually, not probably, but it will be the match of the night. Both are amazing at what they do and you can hardly have a bad match against either of them. I am thinking that Asuka is going to one way or another cause Sky the match and Vaquer is going to be crowned the new champion.

The Usos (Jimmy & Jey) vs. The Vision (Bronson Reed & Bron Brekker)

Magnum: I’m really glad The Usos are back – they fit well together, and they work well together. That’s probably the understatement of the year, considering they are twins. Anyway, Big Jim and the Yeet man are going to run into problems, specifically LA Knight. This gives the edge to The Vision – I’ll take Bronson and Bron to win.

Colin: I’m down for this match and it should be a good one. The Usos are always terrific together. Expecting like a 10 minute intro here LOL! A win for The Vision will do them wonders I think, and I’m picking Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed for the win here.

Mixed Tag Team Match
CM Punk and AJ Lee vs. Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch

Magnum: Great to see AJ Lee back – she looks even more radiant than we last saw her in 2015. This feud has some pretty deep roots, especially with Rollins and Punk. I think there will be a next chapter for these two, probably at the next big event. So let’s give Punk and Lee some momentum and give them the win here.

Colin: Punk recently said that it feels his feud with Seth Rollins is never going to end. It certainly feels that way to me too and now with the addition of the wives, there’s more chapters in this story. This will be AJ’s first match in 10 years and I’m sure there will be some ring rust. Who wins? Good question, I’m kinda in the middle on this one as I feel it’s only getting started (kinda) and the heels will cheat to win. Seth and Becky for the W.

Undisputed WWE Championship
Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Drew McIntyre

Magnum: Drew is doing some of his best work right now. The kick through the table, the promo during the contact signing…he’s firing on all cylinders. For Cody, it actually would make sense to lose the title here and start the chase against Drew. That said, I think they have other things in mind for Cody. While a continuation of this storyline is possible, I’ll take Cody to retain tonight.

Colin: This was a quick build and it should have been longer. Unfortunately, with Cody’s filming commitments, the FFWD button was pressed and here we are. I am not expecting Cody to lose the title here by any means. He just won it last month and then disappeared from television, and I’m 100% sure there’s more in store with him and the title. Cody wins.

That’s going to do it for the Pick’em Crew! We will see you next time RIGHT HERE at WO for the Pick’em report. @TheMagnumDA signing off.

It ends with Triple H walking in front of several monitors showing different sports, saying, “Sports is entertainment. Always has been. Always will be,” before he walks off and the camera focuses on the middle screen with the Wrestlepalooza logo.

Wade Barrett expected back at Wrestlepalooza

Wade Barrett is expected to return to commentary tonight at Wrestlepalooza.

PWInsider.com is reporting that the British star was listed internally as returning to the commentary booth today after a few weeks off from television due to personal time off.

With Corey Graves taken out by Brock Lesnar last night on Smackdown, the commentary team is missing one person and Barrett’s return would be just in time to fill that void.

Former Raw and Smackdown color commentator Pat McAfee is also going to be at Wrestlepalooza tonight in his hometown of Indianapolis but it’s unclear if he will be returning ringside for commentary for the show.

MJF loses CMLL Light Heavyweight title to Mistico

MJF lost his CMLL Light Heavyweight title to Mistico last night at the CMLL 92nd Anniversary show held in Arena Mexico.

The match also had Mistico’s mask on the line as it was a title vs mask match but the Mexican star retained his mask while gaining the title when he made MJF tap out after a near 18-minute match.

MJF held the title for 49 days after he won it from Averno on August 1.

Along with MJF, Mascara Dorada and Hechicero also worked the show and all flew to Toronto, Canada immediately following the event to link up with the rest of the AEW crew for today’s All Out where all of them have a match on the pay-per-view.
