Asuka responds to Goldberg’s “some girl” comment

Asuka took to social media to respond to Goldberg’s comments after earlier this week during an interview he said that “some girl” in WWE broke his undefeated streak, with WWE doing it on purpose at the time.

The former multi-time champion said that she is not bothered by Goldberg’s comments and what he said was his own perspective.

“So there’s really no need to make such a big deal out of it. Listen to my philosophy. It’s not about what I accomplish. It’s about what I try to create,” Asuka wrote. “Philosophy and vision, that’s where the real value is. I don’t find meaning in anything without beauty.”

She said that she achieved every record, won every title, but those are just milestones.

“What really matters is opening a new era. Creating the moment that separates Before Asuka and After Asuka. Having the power to change an era. That’s where true value and beauty exist,” Asuka continued. “I don’t chase records or championships. They’re the ones that come to me.”

Jade Cargill turns heel, attacks Tiffany Stratton

Jade Cargill has crossed to the dark side and turned on Tiffany Stratton last night on Smackdown.

Cargill, sporting the effects of a nasty cut above her eyebrow, came out to even the odds for Stratton who had just defeated Kiana James but was attacked by Giulia.

After cleaning house, Cargill raised Tiffany’s hand and then leveled her with a huge clothesline. The attack continued around the ring, with Stratton thrown into the steps, floor, and even on the broadcast table. While referees attempted to stop the carnage, Cargill continued and then slammed her foot on Tiffany’s ankle while it was on the steel steps.

This was enough for Cargill to earn a WWE Women’s title shot, which will come on November 1 at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The future of metaverses: will they become a new form of social media?

The metaverse is no longer just a concept from science fiction — it’s becoming one of the most ambitious technological visions of the 21st century. Companies like Meta, Epic Games, Microsoft, and even Apple are investing billions to create a shared digital universe that merges physical and virtual realities into one continuous experience. Within these spaces, people can interact through customizable avatars, build virtual homes, attend meetings, concerts, and parties — or even own digital land and businesses. As technology continues to advance, many wonder whether the metaverse could replace or transform traditional social media platforms, offering a new way for humans to connect emotionally, socially, and economically in a shared digital world.

From social networks to immersive worlds: the evolution of online communication

Social media began as a way to share text, then photos, and eventually videos. Platforms like Facebook and Instagram turned personal lives into digital galleries, while TikTok and X (formerly Twitter) evolved communication into short, dynamic bursts of content. But all these forms share one limitation — they are two-dimensional. Users scroll through feeds, watch screens, and react with emojis, yet they never truly feel present in the same space as others. The metaverse changes that dynamic entirely.

In a metaverse, people can meet as 3D avatars, walk together through digital spaces, attend live concerts, or even collaborate on projects as if sitting in the same room. Virtual reality headsets and motion tracking create an illusion of physical presence that no social network has ever achieved. This sense of immersion — of “being there” — has the potential to revolutionize how people experience digital communication.

The evolution of streaming and gaming communities already points toward this shift. Live streaming platforms, particularly those connected to esports and gaming, have proven that audiences crave interaction, not just content consumption. On twitch cs2, millions of users engage with streamers in real time, forming communities that blend entertainment, socialization, and participation. This demonstrates how the foundations of the metaverse — presence, interactivity, and shared experience — are already embedded in today’s digital culture.

The technological foundations of the metaverse

Creating a fully functional metaverse requires an ecosystem of interconnected technologies — virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), blockchain, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence (AI). Each of these pillars contributes to making the virtual world feel real, persistent, and scalable.

VR provides the immersion — the ability to step into digital environments and experience them with sight, sound, and sometimes even touch through haptic feedback. AR overlays digital information onto the real world, allowing the metaverse to extend beyond headsets and into everyday life through smartphones, smart glasses, and mixed-reality devices like the Apple Vision Pro.

Blockchain ensures digital ownership, enabling users to buy, sell, and trade virtual goods, avatars, and even real estate. Without blockchain, the idea of owning something in the metaverse would be purely symbolic. Meanwhile, AI shapes intelligent virtual assistants, NPCs, and adaptive environments that respond dynamically to user behavior.

Finally, cloud computing and 5G connectivity provide the backbone — supporting massive online worlds with millions of users interacting simultaneously without latency or hardware constraints. This infrastructure is what will make the metaverse as accessible as today’s mobile apps, transforming it from a niche VR hobby into a mainstream digital experience available to everyone.

Economic opportunities and digital societies

The metaverse isn’t just a place to hang out — it’s a rapidly expanding digital economy. Virtual land sales in platforms like Decentraland and The Sandbox have already generated millions of dollars. Brands such as Nike, Gucci, and Balenciaga are experimenting with digital fashion, creating clothes for avatars that people can wear during virtual events. Even large corporations are holding meetings, conferences, and product launches inside virtual environments, drastically reducing travel costs and reaching global audiences instantly.

This new form of digital capitalism brings entirely new professions: virtual architects who design 3D worlds, digital event managers who organize immersive gatherings, and metaverse influencers who earn from sponsorships and brand collaborations. Artists can exhibit their work in virtual galleries, while musicians perform concerts attended by millions of avatars worldwide.

Moreover, decentralized finance (DeFi) and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are creating new ways for users to invest and trade assets across multiple metaverse platforms. These developments blur the line between entertainment, creativity, and commerce — creating a digital ecosystem that mirrors, and in some cases surpasses, real-world economics.

Ethical, psychological, and privacy challenges

While the potential of the metaverse is enormous, its challenges are equally significant. One of the primary concerns is privacy. Immersive worlds collect vast amounts of personal data — not just what users click, but how they move, speak, and behave. Every gesture, facial expression, and voice tone can be tracked, raising critical questions about surveillance, consent, and data ownership.

There’s also the risk of social isolation. If people begin spending more time in digital environments than in real life, their physical and emotional connections might weaken. While virtual presence feels real, it cannot fully replace human touch or face-to-face empathy. Psychologists already warn that prolonged exposure to VR spaces could alter perception, affect attention spans, and even influence self-identity.

Ethically, there’s the issue of moderation. In a world where users can create anything, how do you prevent harassment, hate speech, or exploitation? Traditional content moderation tools may not work effectively in 3D environments. Developers will need to create AI-driven systems and community guidelines that ensure inclusivity and safety without infringing on freedom of expression.

Finally, accessibility remains a concern. High-quality VR gear and stable internet are still luxury items in many parts of the world. To truly become a “new form of social media,” the metaverse must bridge the digital divide and provide affordable, inclusive access for all users, not just tech enthusiasts.

The intersection of gaming, community, and identity

Gaming has played a central role in shaping how metaverses are built and understood. Games like Fortnite, Roblox, and Minecraft already function as micro-metaverses — spaces where millions of people gather, communicate, and collaborate. Fortnite, for example, hosts virtual concerts and movie screenings, while Roblox allows users to design and monetize their own games. These examples show that social interaction within virtual spaces can be as valuable and meaningful as in-person communication.

Avatars — digital representations of self — also introduce new dimensions to identity. Users can express themselves freely, regardless of physical appearance, gender, or background. This creates a level of creative freedom that traditional social media platforms, bound by real-world profiles and algorithms, cannot match. Yet it also raises psychological and ethical questions about authenticity and self-perception. Who are we when we can be anyone?

In the long term, the line between gaming, social media, and metaverse life will continue to blur. Traditional platforms might adopt 3D features, such as interactive virtual rooms or AI-driven companions, while game developers may expand their ecosystems to include social, educational, and professional features. The result could be a unified digital reality where communication, work, play, and creativity coexist seamlessly.

Conclusion

The metaverse is poised to redefine what it means to be “online.” While still in its early stages, it promises a future where communication is not confined to screens but experienced as shared, immersive presence. It may not entirely replace social media, but it will undoubtedly transform it — evolving static feeds into living, breathing digital spaces where communities thrive through participation, creation, and exploration.

For the metaverse to succeed, developers, policymakers, and users must collaborate to ensure ethical standards, privacy protection, and inclusivity. If those challenges are met, metaverses could indeed become the next major evolution of social media — not just a platform, but an entire digital civilization where imagination becomes reality.

Hulk Hogan estate settles lawsuit against Bubba “The Love Sponge” over documentary

Hulk Hogan death

The lawsuit filed by the Hulk Hogan estate against Bubba “The Love Sponge” over the documentary titled Video Killed The Radio Star has been settled.

A press release issued today by Woltz Films, a co-defendant and a party to the settlement, revealed the news, although details of the settlement were not released.

“The settlement follows the Court’s September 22, 2025, Order dissolving the Court’s previously entered Temporary Restraining Order and denying the Estate’s injunction to prevent the publication of the documentary entitled Video Killed The Radio Star,” the press release says.

The documentary “sheds light on how the unlawful publication of a video showing Bollea’s intimate relations with Clem’s wife occurred during a volatile era in Tampa’s radio war landscape” and is available for purchase or rental on the streaming services Apple TV, Amazon Prime and Google Play.

“Reaching this settlement allows all parties to put the legal process behind them and ensures the film can be viewed in its intended form,” said a spokesman for Woltz Films.

Survivor Series: WarGames 2025 crosses 30,000 tickets

Survivor Series 2025

The 2025 Survivor Series has surpassed 30,000 tickets distributed according to @WrestleTix with just over one month away from the show.

The Petco Park in San Diego, California is currently configured to hold 33,000 seats after a few more sections were added this week. The stadium holds just over 47,000 seats if fully opened.

There are is no big stage and WWE will be making use of a curved entrance. While more seats could be opened, the seats remaining are far away from the ring area due to the configuration of a baseball stadium.

This will obviously be a record for a Survivor Series premium live event and it’s the first in a stadium. Survivor Series was the last of the “big four” to receive the stadium treatment.

Tickets are available via Ticketmaster.com with the cheapest tickets priced at $163.25 plus fees and ringside going for $6,904.20.

This year’s show will once again be WarGames-themed, with two WarGames matches taking place.

Jelly Roll talks wrestling at SummerSlam, meeting The Rock, and more in new interview

Jelly Roll sat down with Chris Van Vliet in Nashville, Tennessee to discuss his success in the music world and how that led to a spot at WWE SummerSlam 2024, chokeslamming Austin Theory, teaming with Randy Orton at SummerSlam, taking a frog splash from Logan Paul on the announce table, giving Drew McIntyre a Black Hole Slam, how he lost 250 pounds, finally meeting The Rock after a decade of speaking with him, interactions with pro wrestling legends, if another match could happen, and more!

On giving Austin Theory a chokeslam at SummerSlam:

“Which was all Austin Theory. But once again, the greatest heels make the babyfaces look incredible. That’s all Austin. I mean, that dude’s a seller and a half. But he was the dude I wanted to Undertaker style it, you know, because that’s what I grew up watching. Throw the arm over, kind of like I did Logan in the actual match. Thank you Taker for giving me that nod. But when I went to it, Austin was like, ‘One arm, it will get higher.’ I was like, You sure? He was like, ‘Trust me, bro.’ This is like breaking all kayfabe, straight shoot. He looks at me and goes, ‘My brother, I’m going to jump through the building. I got you dog.’ Because I was so nervous. I made him make us work it out on a crash pad 30 times. They were so over it, him and The Miz, but they were so patient with me. They were like, ‘It’s this easy.’ And me and Ron Killings are homies. So he was just back there laughing. He’s like, ‘Jelly, I swear you’re gonna be fine’. I was like, okay.”

On how the spot led to a match:

“Well, I’m walking up into Gorilla, and I’m obviously losing my mind. I’m definitely a very inflated version of myself, and I see Triple H, and I’m like, ‘Triple H, I got to do this again. I got to take a match, bro. I’m gonna go lose 100 pounds and come back and take a match.’ For the record, I had had a big disconnect between what 100 pounds was gonna feel like and how much I actually needed to lose. That’s a whole different story. But I was in my mind, I’m all jacked up on Mountain Dew. I’m like, Dude, I’m coming back. We’re gonna do this, man. And what I love about Triple H is he’s very direct, he’s serious, but he’s sincere. There’s a real sincerity in his face. You see the seriousness. But I think you got to look at his eyes are sincere. His face is serious. His eyes are sincere. And I seen them eyes, they really soften. He shook my hand. He said, ‘Brother, you lose that weight, you got a home here.'”

On not wanting to win the match:

“I fought that immediately. It’s one of the first things I fought was like, Yo, man, I don’t want to go out [on top].”

Was that the original plan?

“It was originally, babyfaces up. So the day of, I’d been dropping it in on Shane [Helms] the whole time. Shane, I want to lose this match. And he was like, ‘Brother, you got to take that up with them.’ I was like, Cool. So I came down and me and Triple H talked about it right there at the ring that day. I said, ‘You know what I’m coming to talk about?’ He said, ‘I want to hear it.’ And I gave it to him. And he was like, All right, all right.”

What was the pitch?

“It was an easy pitch. I was just like, it took three things. One, it’s the right thing to do, let’s just start at core values here. No celebrity has any business coming in and pinning a wrestler on their first run without some extreme circumstance. If Randy comes out and double RKOs everybody while I’m out and puts me on top of somebody. But two, I can always come back, I don’t think any other celebrity ever really cared enough to think full angle through. If I lose this, I love Logan. That’s my friend in real life. But every time he’s in that ring, now he’s got to wonder if at some point he’s going to hear, ‘You know I got it, so come and get it’ [Who’s Your Daddy? By Toby Keith]. He’s got to wonder about that a little bit. Drew too. If I really owe one of them, it’s Drew. So that was part two of it. I was also smart enough to be like, Yo, I want to angle in. And I was like, I don’t want to be remembered as a celebrity who did the thing, and then Triple H stopped me. This will probably be on Unreal because it was so gangster. He said, ‘I will tell you this though.’ He said Floyd wanted to lose to The Big Show. I don’t know if I should be sharing that, but he told me that, and I thought that was cool.”

On the Logan Paul frog splash:

“Thank you for bringing that up. I practiced everything, but that. It’s the scariest part of the night. It’s also the moment you know that’s going to go, because me and Logan had extensively been like, Look, man. If there was ever a time for you to jump, and I know you jump as crazy as you can every time, but if there was ever a time like this, this should make every headline in the world. We knew we had that kind of a moment if we did it right. I do remember the hardest part was, I don’t know if I should get this inside, but I got onto the table wrong, which everybody talked about, because I had to slip back, and did the worst job selling my slip back. But equally, I was scared because of where my back was sitting at that moment. I’d never been through it, and I didn’t know where this thing was going to break. So like I had just a genuine self-preservation, like, f*ck what everybody thinks, this is scary as f*ck. But then I looked up, and when Logan took the two bottles, I just remember thinking, I’ll talk about this on my deathbed. I’ll tell this story of what’s happening right here in this moment till I die. I don’t know how many other things in my life I’ll think are cool enough to talk about until it’s all over, but I will, for sure sit right here and think about this moment, dude. He comes, and he hits me, and all I hear is the clear sound of every bit of his air coming out of him, like a [wheezes], And I’m like, oh sh*t. So as soon as I land, I shoot over immediately towards Logan, real fast and cover my mouth. And I’m just like, ‘You okay, bro?’ I was worried I hurt him, he ate. I don’t think he hit the table, Chris. I think he hit all Jelly Roll. I think he’s been used to jumping on people that are like half my width. So I don’t think he fully [knew], because he couldn’t practice for it neither. You can’t put a Jelly Roll size doll up, you’re just having to kind of guess. Then I rolled back over, and I’m laying there, and I’m hurt, of course, I mean, because if you don’t hit that spot, not hurt a little bit, you hurt a lot the next day, but even in the moment, and I just remember looking up and seeing Fat Joe, and that’s my friend, and Druski was standing up behind him, and their faces were concerned. And right then, I was like, we got it. I was like, I just got to sell it. And dude, no lie, I spent the next two minutes selling to just Fat Joe, nobody else. I don’t know how much of it was on camera, but I was just selling because I was like, if I can get Fat Joe to believe this, I am good. It’s getting there.”

Former WWE writer says Charles Manson wanted to meet Bray Wyatt

During an interview on the Freddie Prinze Jr. podcast Wrestling with Freddie, former WWE writer Nick Manfredini revealed that notorious murderer Charles Manson wanted to meet Bray Wyatt after a prison guard showed Manson several Wyatt promos from WWE television.

Manfredini said that Manson was “a fan” of Wyatt and asked prison authorities if he could meet the late WWE Superstar. He noted how Wyatt’s father, Mike Rotunda, was notified of this and brought forward a pitch to the WWE higher-ups to have WWE cameras film the meeting for a special.

“They immediately squashed it,” Manfredini said. “Cause they were like…can we shoot a Network special with Charles Manson? And it was immediately squashed!”

Manfredini also admitted of pitching an idea to Wyatt to just go visit Manson when they were in Northern California and suggested he could go in incognito where no one would recognize him.

“I thought more about it and obviously it was a terrible, terrible idea. Would have been a good story, but a bad idea,” he continued.

Manson passed away in 2017 at the age of 83.

Video of Jey Uso winning the battle royal amasses over 85,000 dislikes on YouTube

Jey Uso might be a very popular Superstar at arenas, but it seems that doesn’t translate well to the online audience.

The official WWE YouTube video of Jey Uso winning the battle royal this past Monday on Raw to get a shot at the vacant WWE World Heavyweight title has a staggering 85,374 dislikes versus the 14,914 likes at time of this writing.

That translates to 85% of the total “likes” pressed by fans who watched the video, which currently has nearly 685,000 views and 4,300 comments.

It is quite the increase of dislikes compared to him winning the Royal Rumble earlier this year, which had over 36,500 dislikes after the same amount of views. That video had a more respectable 20,500 thumbs up presses in comparison.

Jey now has two of the most disliked YouTube WWE videos of 2025 so far.

The numbers pale in comparison to the video of Cody Rhodes giving up his WrestleMania spot to The Rock on an episode of Smackdown which had over 600,000 dislikes at the time.

Is Rhea Ripley taking wrestling beyond Cena and Styles?

The biggest names in professional wrestling often shape how the world sees the sport. When legends begin to say farewell, the spotlight shifts to those who step in next. With John Cena and AJ Styles giving fans the matches of a lifetime on their way out, attention is now fixed on Rhea Ripley. She is doing something rare. She is not replacing anyone. She is building her own era.

The Global Impact of Departing Legends

The careers of Cena, Styles, and even the Dudley Boyz stretch across decades, promotions, and countries. Their recent farewell moments have sparked more than just nostalgia. They reminded people how much this sport matters. From amateurs copying their signature moves at home to grown-ups planning their weekends around pay-per-view events, these figures have shifted the game completely.

Their matches bring in millions of views, generate headlines across platforms, and create online debates that can last for weeks. Sports magazines line up to feature their final runs. Gaming titles mirror their moves and mannerisms. Cena’s handshake, Styles’ Phenomenal Forearm, and the Dudleyz’ tables became part of pop culture.

Even more recently, betting platforms covering wrestling alongside other major sports updates have started showing increasing interest. Some people now follow wrestling closely enough to use crypto-based platforms focused on odds for matches in and outside the United States. The escapistmagazine.com list of US bitcoin sports betting sites, for instance, reflects this growing trend.

Whether someone sees it as choreographed action or a physical battle of endurance and skill, the reach is undeniable. The emotional energy behind each retirement, tribute, or swan song match spreads across every corner of the sport. Wrestlers become symbols of grit, loyalty, and even artistry. The legacy of these stars has already gone worldwide, and the impact will keep growing even after they step away.

Rhea Ripley’s Rise Feels Unstoppable

Every era of wrestling needs someone bold enough to reshape the ring. Rhea Ripley brings something that can’t be taught. She walks in with presence, holds the crowd, and controls matches like she has been doing it for decades. With each appearance, she makes clear that she belongs among the elite. That includes names like Cena and Styles.

Ripley has climbed the ladder without skipping a step. Her style mixes raw power with careful storytelling. Each time she appears on camera, the performance speaks for itself. Analysts take note of her timing, her instincts, and her ability to lift the entire division. Her reigns with titles feel deserved, earned through clashes that live on in highlight reels.

Crowds respond with chants, signs, and reactions that shake arenas. She carries the Women’s World Championship like a badge of honour, never a decoration. Veterans of the sport speak highly of her, not only because of her strength but because of how she understands the art of wrestling. She learns fast, adapts quicker, and leaves people waiting for what she does next. While others might pause when the pressure increases, she treats each moment like it was made for her.

An Alternative Definition of Star Power

Rhea Ripley’s character is memorable. She has an organic star power that transcends across the casual and the devoted fanbase. From her arrival to her stare-downs to the intensity of her fights, she makes people talk.

Unlike eras that were dominated by male headliners, this shift provides more balance. Ripley belongs in the top of the women’s division, not just as a role model. From social media hype to international interviews, her name continues to circulate. The media begs her and fans from around the world appear in Ripley merchandise everywhere in the world.

She is respected without being feared. That makes her rare. In press conferences, locker rooms, and live shows, she elevates the presence of others.

The Future of Wrestling Already Looks Different

Wrestling is different with every generation. When Cena and Styles started their final chapters, it was obvious: who comes to the forefront with sufficient strength and vision to shape the next wave? The answer is already here. Rhea Ripley is filling seats, sparking discussions, and making headlines, no time to spare. She is part of rewatch matches, and she keeps on raising the bar.

Wrestling has evolved into a new phase, as seen with the names like Grayson Waller and Bronson Reed appearing next to her in Australia. It is a representation of depth, diversity, and global scope. Local tryouts result in global contracts. Leumeah’s Pro Wrestling Academy has given way to main event cards, and Ripley is a testament to what can be achieved by those who are willing to emerge from such beginnings.

Cena and Styles showed mutual respect at Crown Jewel, but as long as Ripley is in the sport, it never takes a break. It keeps moving. She makes sure of that.

There’s no waiting. From a professional wrestling perspective, she is already influencing this era by making her own rules. The past set a high standard, but the present sure is competing with it.

Goldberg still annoyed at Asuka beating his undefeated record

Goldberg seems that he is still bitter about WWE surpassing his undefeated record with Asuka.

Appearing as a guest on the Real Talk with Mike Burke podcast, Goldberg corrected Burke who said that a streak like that is likely never going to happen again in wrestling.

Goldberg said that “they already did” and referred to Asuka as “some girl at WWE.”

The former champion never mentioned Asuka by name and said he has nothing “against the girl” but he feels that they did it on purpose.

“I think there is always going to be the bird in their ass that I was part of a company where I was the champion in a very short period of time and we were beating them in the ratings,” Goldberg said.

Goldberg said that when WWE bought WCW, they could treat everyone and everything the way they wanted.

According to stats, Goldberg had 461 days as undefeated and went 173-0 during this stint. Asuka went undefeated for 914 days in her NXT and early main roster days, losing for the first time to Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 34.

“She said yes at the Disney Family Farm,” Garland wrote on Instagram along with the photo of the two together celebrating the news. Garland is a huge Disney fan so it’s no surprise he proposed on a Disney property!
