Filming for the Total Nonstop Deletion segment that will be part of an Impact episode in December has been postponed and is likely to be taped sometime next month.
The filming will take place in Cameron, North Carolina on the Matt Hardy compound, the same location where The Final Deletion and Delete or Decay were filmed. TND will feature the Tag Team Apocalypto match, where TNA is inviting several tag teams who are not part of the organization to be featured in this match. Matt Hardy even invited “The Day of New” to appear and promised that if The New Day show up, he would make an appearance on “MeekMahan’s show.”
The postponement of the filming comes on the heels of the several financial difficulties that TNA is going through at the moment. ProWrestlingSheet.com is reporting that funds were frozen by the court due to the Billy Corgan lawsuit so the company couldn’t fly out the required personnel to complete the shoot.
The segment is still planned to go ahead as scheduled, however at a later date. It’s not known which tag teams will be part of this crazy match.
In the latest 10-Q documents filed by WWE with the Securities and Exchange Commission, there was a section where Stephanie McMahon’s booking contract was extended for three years effective October 7.
Apart from being a Chief Brand Officer, McMahon also has a talent contract with WWE which enables her to appear every week on WWE television. Her contract is extended on a year-to-year basis and if Stephanie decides to call it quits, she has to give 90 days written notice.
Stephanie is pulling in $500,000 every year for her appearances as a minimum annual compensation, getting paid every week.
W-O reader Steve Alleyne forwarded an e-mail that Ticketmaster is sending to all Survivor Series ticket holders, alerting them of a new time.
The show was originally set for 8PM EST with an advertised time of 7:30PM EST. Now the new time lists 6:30PM EST for a start time of 7PM EST. That means that the Survivor Series will be expanding to four hours, just like SummerSlam was.
Survivor Series will be headlined by Goldberg vs Brock Lesnar and a series of traditional 5-on-5 matches between Raw and Smackdown.
Episode four of Total Bellas, titled Bryan’s Breaking Point, pulled in 630,000 viewers, up just 5,000 viewers from last week’s show. The show has averaged around 660,000 viewers so far with two episodes left to go. (Ratings credit: Showbuzzdaily.com)
Austin Aries suffered one hell of a nasty eye injury at last night’s NXT live event in Fresno, California.
Aries was on the receiving end of a kick to the face from NXT champion Shinsuke Nakamura and immediately went down on the ground holding his face. After Nakamura delivered a back suplex, the referee went to check on a motionless Aries and then stopped Nakamura from hitting his Kinshasa finisher, put up the X hand sign and stopped the match.
The former TNA champion posted a photo on his Twitter showing his gruesome injury, his left eye swollen, purple, and completely shut with a cut beneath it. “A smile and a wink for y’all,” he wrote.
You can see a video of the injury and the photo Aries posted below.
WWE has decided to flip the days of the NXT event and Hall of Fame during WrestleMania weekend.
The Hall of Fame induction ceremony is now set to take place on Friday, March 31, a day earlier than before. All previous Hall of Fame ceremonies have taken place on Saturday, the eve of WrestleMania.
The NXT event, most likely another NXT Takeover following the success of NXT Takeover: Dallas during the WrestleMania 32 weekend, will move to Saturday night instead of the Hall of Fame.
NXT Takeover: Dallas did not take place in the same arena as the Hall of Fame earlier this year and with the Amway Center set to host four back-to-back shows, it made more sense to put the Hall of Fame on a Friday and then transform the arena with the ring in the middle and leave it like that till Tuesday night for Smackdown.
Putting NXT on a Friday would put extra work on the crew since they would have to build the arena, then dismantle the ring and entrance for the Hall of Fame, and then set everything back up for the remaining two shows.
For the first time ever, Smackdown following WrestleMania will be taking place in the same host city, with Orlando next year hosting all the WWE shows.
The Amway Center in downtown Orlando will be the home of four back-to-back events with the Hall of Fame, NXT, RAW, and Smackdown all taking place in the same venue.
While Raw has been taking place in the same WrestleMania host city for the past several years, Smackdown always moved to a different city, and sometimes even a different state. With now Smackdown being live on Tuesday and on “the same level” as Monday Night Raw, Smackdown will also get to experience the rowdy International crowd that always make the post-WrestleMania Raw hilarious and exciting.
Travel packages for WrestleMania 33 will go on sale this coming Monday on WrestleManiaTravel.com starting at 10AM EST.
There will be five different packages offered: Sunshine, VIP, Platinum, Gold, and Silver. Each travel package will contain tickets for Axxess, NXT, Hall of Fame, WrestleMania, Raw, and Smackdown as well as round-trip transportation to WrestleMania, and a standard hotel room accommodation with an option of 3, 4, or 5 nights depending on if you add Raw and Smackdown to your package.
With rumors that WWE will be announcing some sort of agreement with Universal Studios, each travel package will also contain a single park admission to either Universal’s Islands of Adventure or Universal Studios Florida.
The more expensive Sunshine travel package will include an exclusive reception with WWE Superstars as well as a visit to the WWE Performance Center and ringside seating, rows 1 to 4, for WrestleMania.
The absolute cheapest package is the Silver package with a 3 night hotel at $950 per person with an occupancy of 4 people. The price gets more expensive if there are less people in your group or if you add more nights to your package.
A one person Sunshine package with a 5 night hotel accommodation will set you back a whooping $7,375.
Wrestling-Online.com is having a bus service for the stadium for $40 per person round-trip. If you’re interested go to http://store.wrestling-online.com.
During the conference call with investors earlier today, Vince McMahon answered a question regarding if he would be willing to sell WWE to a bigger corporation, similar to what the UFC did as well as Time Warner, who just announced a deal with AT&T.
Vince McMahon, Chairman and CEO, replied saying, “We’re open to anything but I think that you know controlling all of the dust is so important. And I don’t know well how much you lose control over that you know by being absorbed or sold or what have you, but again, we’re to open to anything, we’re business people, so it’s not a question of if the right deal came along, it’s one of those things where you do, to do any good reviews, we’re listening.”
McMahon continued, “Otherwise you know we’re creating our own content, which extremely valuable as George said over all platforms and that’s important. The old content is king is true, maybe truer today than it’s ever been. So we’re open for business.”
A similar question was posed at the last conference call and WWE Chief Strategy and Financial Officer George Barrios responded to that question.
“As far as the private transaction look, as you know us, we are always willing to listen and all we care about is doing what’s best for our audience, for our shareholders, and for our employees. So, if someone’s got a great idea, we’re open to listening to it,” Barrios said at the time.
Six of the nine WWE business segments had an increase in revenue when compared to the prior year quarter.
Those who performed better this year are: WWE Network subscription revenue increased 18% to $42.8 million from $36.4 million in the prior year quarter. Traditional pay-per-view purchases added another $2.3 million to that figure; Live Event revenues increased 10% to $28.6 million with US events on par with last year and International revenue increasing; Digital Media went up to $18.4 million vs $13.9 million in the prior year quarter; Venue merchandise was $19.3 million, an increase of $1.3 million from last year; WWEShop.com revenue was $21.8 million, up from $17.1 million; WWE Studios registered an increase of $2.5 million compared to $1.7 million in the prior year quarter.
The three divisions which didn’t do as well are: Television revenues decreased 14% to $56.3 million from $65.2 million in the prior year quarter; Licensing revenues decreased 22% to $9.0 million; and Home entertainment went down to $8.9 million compared to $10.8 million last year.
As expected, the WWE Network subscribers count dipped a little bit for the third quarter following the free WrestleMania promotion in the second quarter.
WWE reported a total of 1.44 million paid subscribers till September 30, down from the 1.56 million it had by June 30. Out of these 1.44 million subscribers, a total of 1.07 million are subscribers based in the United States while 373,000 are International subs. As a comparison, in the last quarter there were 1.13 million US subscribers and 381,000 International subs. The day after WrestleMania 32 remains the single most popular WWE Network day with a total of 1.82 million subscribers.
Despite the decrease in subscribers, the 1.44 million number represents a 17% increase year-over-year, and that’s how WWE usually measures their subscribers.
WWE is on pace to add more than 300 hours of original content to the Network’s featured programming in 2016, and more than 2,500 hours of archival content, which would result in an on-demand library of over 7,000 hours at year-end 2016.
For the fourth quarter, WWE is estimating an average paid subscribers count of 1.4 million so they are forecasting another dip in subscriptions over the next couple of months.
WWE today announced financial results for its third quarter 2016. The Company reported Net income of $11.1 million, or $0.14 per diluted share, as compared to Net income of $10.4 million, or $0.14 per diluted share, in the prior year quarter.
“During the quarter, we continued to effectively execute our content strategy, which has resulted in record revenues to-date in 2016 and increased consumption across our media platforms,” said WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon. “This growth illustrates meaningful progress against our long-term strategic plan and provides the foundation for achieving our 2017 financial objectives.”
George Barrios, WWE Chief Strategy & Financial Officer, stated “We achieved a 24% increase in average paid subscribers to WWE Network and generated profits that were within the range of our guidance. We expect continued year-over-year growth in subscribers and profits for the fourth quarter resulting in strong full year performance that is in-line with our previous business outlook.”
Nashville Chancellor Ellen Hobbs Lyle announced at the end of today’s TNA temporary injunction hearing that she would make a ruling on Monday, October 31.
The hearing today, which started at 1PM EST, lasted around 3 hours 30 minutes with attorneys for Billy Corgan and then TNA pleading their case. Corgan’s attorney Scott Sims started first, trying to convince the court that his client is entitled to exercise his right as stated in the contract and take over the company because it’s insolvent and unable to pay any debts.
In his rebuttal, TNA attorney Travis Parham described Corgan as power hungry and all he cares about is not getting his money back, but ousting Dixie Carter from her power.
If the Chancellor decides to side with TNA, it’s highly likely that Corgan will then have to accept getting paid back his loan and he would depart TNA. Dixie Carter would then be able to sell the company however she sees fit, be it to Anthem Sports & Entertainment, WWE, or anyone she wants. If she sides with Corgan, then Dixie Carter is in a lot of trouble as the injunction would be upheld and she would not be able to sell any part of the company without his approval. Corgan is requesting a trial by jury for his lawsuit.
Smackdown did 2,127,000 viewers this week, one of the lowest numbers the show has done since moving to USA Network. It was down 278,000 viewers from last week’s show. (Ratings credit: Showbuzzdaily.com)
TNA attorney Travis Parham painted Billy Corgan as an opportunist whose only aim is to get rid of Dixie Carter from TNA and take over her stake in the company. The following report is based on the Tennessean’s Nate Rau’s live coverage.
Parham claimed that Corgan invested in TNA in July and had a chance to convert his loan into a 12.5% interest in the company. Quick loan was taken from smslåndirektutbetalning, which was made in August but Parham said that the money pumped in by Corgan was only to benefit himself, saying that he wanted a 22.5 Percentages stake in the company and a pledge agreement after the August loan. He then increased his request to a 50% equity stake, and that’s when he passed the comment that what Corgan offered and wanted in return “would make a loan shark blush.” Few things are more important to the success of your estate plan than the attorney you choose to design and draft it. What is required for sound estate planning? You can click here and find more info about estate planning attorney. There are several legal instruments that you can use in arranging your affairs. While most people are familiar with a will to provide for distribution of assets after their death, you can also create a living trust and/or use powers of attorney to manage your estate. You can read this article for more about the NC planing. A trust is a legal arrangement where a grantor assigns a trustee to hold the grantor’s property for the benefit of others. If the grantor creates a trust before his/her death, it is known as an inter vivos, or living, trust. A living trust can be irrevocable or revocable, which allows the grantor to revoke or change the terms of the trust during his or her lifetime. There are several advantages in creating a living trust. A grantor can create a trust and appoint himself as the trustee. This allows the grantor to hold the property for his benefit during his lifetime and maintain complete control over the assets transferred into the trust. The grantor can also name beneficiaries in the trust who will receive the property upon his death. In this way, the trust can take the place of a will, and distribute assets without going through probate. In addition, when a person uses a living trust to distribute property after his death, the distribution plan can be kept private. This is in contrast to a will, which is a matter of public record. Parham said Corgan tried to buy TNA last month but then went to litigation when the deal fell through. He also noted that there was another opportunity for Corgan to buy the company on the day his loan agreement expired, a deal which would have given him 52% stake in TNA but he also didn’t take it. When discussing the pledge agreement and contract that the two parties have with each other, the TNA attorney said that regardless if TNA is insolvent or not, Dixie Carter’s rights and stake cannot be transferred under law because the contract that is signed, “is illegal under Tennessee law.” This legal paper states that you give someone permission to make decisions about your money and property if you become sick or injured and are not able to make them yourself. Obviously, you’ll want to choose someone you trust with these important decisions. A lawyer can help you set up a durable power of attorney. Parham kept hammering that the company wants to pay off Corgan’s loan but he’s refusing to agree and the attorney for Anthem Sports & Entertainment also said that they are willing to pay off his loan minus the transaction premium he says he’s owed.
Billy Corgan has said that he saw documentation of Dixie Carter corresponding with WWE over a potential sale, dating September 25, a day before TNA management denied to him that they have reached out to WWE.
In new documents revealed by ProWrestlingSheet.com, it shows that TNA Chief Financial Officer Dean Broadhead sent a WWE representative certain due diligence materials that the company had requested. When WWE asked Carter about Corgan, Carter replied, “I intend to pay the loan back in full plus interest prior to selling the company.”
This is the first black-on-white proof that TNA was in negotiations with WWE over a potential sale. WWE reportedly made an offer to TNA but then lowered their second offer. During the court hearing today, The Tennessean investigative reporter Nate Rau wrote that Corgan’s attorneys informed the court that the current WWE offer includes non-compete clauses and the offer is lower than Corgan’s estimate of TNA’s liabilities. Dixie Carter also e-mailed WWE to tell them she won’t sell until Corgan is out of the picture completely.
Earlier today we reached out to WWE’s corporate communications office regarding their brand appearing in the court documents however no reply was given at time of this writing.
Things between TNA and Billy Corgan are getting uglier by the minute and it looks like the partnership between the two is in its final stages.
Corgan is accusing Dixie Carter and her other business partners of colluding behind his back to sign an agreement that will see Dixie Carter sell the company to Anthem Sports & Entertainment, who would be the majority owner with 85% of the company. The production company Aroluxe would be receiving 10%, while Dixie Carter would remain with 5%. The agreement also says that Jason Brown from Aroluxe, who Corgan says is running day-to-day operations at TNA, would be named CEO for three years.
However, Corgan said that this agreement would only be signed after Anthem pays off the loan that Corgan gave to TNA and he is completely out of the picture. Rather than getting a bigger pay if this transaction happens when he’s a major creditor, all involved are trying to get him out so he gets less than what he is entitled to. In a press release issued last week, Anthem said they have offered to pay off Corgan’s loan to TNA.
During the court hearing today, Corgan’s lawyer revealed that Anthem has invested $1.8 million so far in TNA.
There will be two cruiserweight matches during the upcoming Hell In A Cell as WWE today announced a six-man tag team match that will be part of the HIAC Kickoff show.
Apart from champion TJ Perkins defending his title against Brian Kendrick, the team of Cedric Alexander, Sin Cara, and Lince Dorado will take on Drew Gulak, Ariya Daivari, and Tony Nese in another cruiserweight showdown.
There will be 8 matches in total on the HIAC card as WWE also announced Bayley vs Dana Brooke today.
In new documents filed by Billy Corgan in his lawsuit against TNA Impact Wrestling, its parent company Impact Ventures LLC, TNA Chairman Dixie Carter, TNA Chief Financial Officer Dean Broadhead and Dixie Carter’s husband Serg Salinas, he claims that Carter misled him when it came to the financial situation the company is in.
Corgan said that TNA’s debts are way more than what they have in assets and if he knew the company is that far down in the hole, he would have never made multiple contributions.
“I did not know that Impact Venture’s debts were that high. I never would have agreed to invest additional capital in Impact Ventures had I known the company’s debts were that high,” the document states. Corgan also found out that he’s third in line in the pecking order with payments, with Aroluxe and Anthem Sports & Entertainment coming before him.
Corgan made his final financial contribution to TNA in August of this year and then refused to put in more money, which led to Anthem giving TNA a capital loan to continue operations. The same documents also reveal that TNA was planning to have more Impact tapings on November 1, 2, and 3 at their usual Universal Studios lot however there is no funds and the decision was taken yesterday, October 25, to postpone them.
Despite being TNA President and supposed to be running day-to-day operations, Corgan also said that it’s Jason Brown from Aroluxe who is tasked with that role and he has been excluded from anything that relates to running the company.
