Xavier Woods also suffers knee injury at non-televised live event

Samoa Joe wasn’t the only one who got injured during the weekend non-televised live events as Xavier Woods also suffered a knee injury in a match featuring the New Day vs The Usos vs Breezango.

The injury occurred during the live event in Texarkana, Arkansas yesterday night after Woods was going for a tornado DDT, but it was blocked by one of The Usos. As soon as Woods landed, he immediately grabbed his left knee and rolled out of the ring. The match seemed like it went to an immediate finish after the injury.

Big E and Fandango then went around the ring to help out Woods who was still on the floor. Kofi Kingston told the referee about the problem and Charles Robinson threw up the “X” hand sign to notify the people in the back of the legit injury.

You can see the video of when the injury happened below.

Dolph Ziggler’s brother Donald sentenced to 15 years in prison

Donald Nemeth, the 30-year-old brother of WWE Superstar Dolph Ziggler, was sentenced to 15 years in prison along with his partner-in-crime for the death of a 34-year-old military veteran and drug dealer killed during a botched robbery last year.

The judge sentenced Nemeth after he pleaded guilty last month to involuntary manslaughter, kidnapping and robbery charges. Both he and his partner initially denied the murder charge and were facing a possibility of life in prison if convicted.

According to a report The Defenders Criminal Defense Lawyers said that it wasn’t him who killed Joshua Mascol, but his partner Jack King. Nemeth did not blame King for the murder. Nemeth fidgeted at his table and adjusted his shirt collar and tie throughout the hearing, before he apologized to Mascol’s family. “I’ve been battling severe addiction issues and I lost a good friend because of it,” he said, before saying he wanted to make things right and apologized to the family.

Samoa Joe suffers knee injury

PWInsider.com is reporting that Samoa Joe has suffered a knee injury during a non-televised live event on Saturday night and will be out of action for several weeks.

The injury occurred during his match against John Cena in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was scheduled to wrestle in Tupelo, Mississippi on Sunday and on Raw against Cena last night, but was not cleared not compete. The card was changed and Bray Wyatt ended up facing John Cena instead.

The former TNA champion interrupted the Cena/Reigns segment last week and then wrestled in the main event in a tag team match later in the night, first hooking the Kokina clutch on Cena and then moving just in time when Reigns delivered the Superman punch, hitting Cena instead.

WWE has not yet acknowledged the Joe injury.

Ric Flair starting physical therapy soon

Good news is coming out from Atlanta as the two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair is on the mend and will start physical therapy shortly.

The news was revealed by Wendy Barlow, Flair’s fiancee, who in a post on Facebook said she can honestly say she has witnessed a miracle. “He is doing very well for a man who has been through so much. He will begin physical therapy shortly and will be strong than ever and back out enjoying all the fans sooner than you would think.”

Meanwhile, a tweet from Ric Flair’s official account said, “Sometimes you have to get knocked down lower than you have ever been, to stand up taller than you ever were. Naitch WILL be back!” Even personalities as huge as Ric Flair can feel low with a major setback. Luckily in today’s world, there are many options for help including options for online therapy.

The 16-time World champion has been hospitalized for over two weeks with serious health issues that required surgery to remove part of his bowel. He was also put on dialysis as he had several organ failures, including his kidneys.

Jeff Hardy becomes the #1 contender for the Intercontinental title

Jeff Hardy will have his first shot at a singles title since the Hardy Boyz’ return at WrestleMania after winning a 15-man battle royal to become the number one contender for the Intercontinental title currently held by The Miz.

The 15 individuals who participated were Apollo Crews, Big Show, Bo Dallas, Bray Wyatt, Curtis Axel, Elias, Finn Balor, Goldust, Jason Jordan, Jeff Hardy, Kalisto, Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows, Matt Hardy, and R-Truth.

The final two ended up being Jeff and Jason Jordan, who a couple of weeks ago teamed up during the SummerSlam Kickoff match. The ending came when Jordan eliminated Bo Dallas, Curtis Axel, and Elias in quick succession only for Jeff Hardy to come from behind and throw Jordan over the top rope for the win.

Jeff Hardy is a four-time Intercontinental champion and has 327 combined days as champion.

Alexa Bliss reclaims the Raw Women’s title from Sasha Banks

Sasha Banks’ inability to defend the Raw Women’s title continued in her fourth title reign as Alexa Bliss took the title back as Sasha once again failed to defend her title for at least one match after winning it.

Bliss got her title rematch on Raw last night and reclaimed the title following a big DDT. Unfortunately for Bliss, the celebration was cut short as Nia Jax stopped being her friend and dropped her after carrying her on her shoulder parading the new champ around the ring.

As the “Goddess of WWE” was flattened on the canvas, Jax got the WWE Raw Women’s title and held it up, making her intensions clear.

You can see the ending of the match and Jax turning on Bliss below.

No Mercy gets Cena vs Reigns mega match

The No Mercy pay-per-view has received its second massive match, a match that many thought would be a probable WrestleMania main event.

For the first time ever, two of WWE’s biggest stars, John Cena and Roman Reigns, will face each other one on one as the match was made official last night on Raw. Both Cena and Reigns are probably equally disliked by the WWE fans so it will be interesting to see who will the fans root for, if they do that all.

The two engaged in a verbal battle with both firing shots at each other. Cena called Reigns a “cheap ass corporately-created John Cena bootleg.” Reigns said they boo Cena because he sucks, the fans see right through him, and when you wrap everything up, he’s just a “fake bitch.”

This is the second match added to the No Mercy card following Brock Lesnar vs Braun Strowman for the WWE Universal title.

You can see their promo below.

Booker T to miss tonight’s Raw due to Hurricane Harvey

WWE Hall of Famer and Raw commentator Booker T will not be attending tonight’s broadcast as he is stranded in Houston thanks to Hurricane Harvey.

A tweet sent out earlier today by Booker said that him and his family are all safe and urged others in the city not to go on the flooded roads.

WWE.COM also reports that Jim Shank and Pat Cassidy from WWE’s technical event operations are also stuck in Houston and unable to travel, and will be missing Raw as well.

Hurricane Harvey has caused massive destruction and chaos on the Gulf Coast with record-breaking rain and floods and the worst is probably still to come.

Rosemary rips into Sexy Star in a scathing statement

GFW’s Rosemary had some pretty harsh words towards Sexy Star, one of her opponents from Saturday night’s AAA TripleMania XV event in Mexico after Star went full-on shoot mode and nearly broke her arm.

“If you take liberties with someone’s body when they are giving it to you and trusting you to keep them safe, you are not tough. You are an asshole and you don’t belong in this business,” she wrote.

Rosemary said that she decided to stay quiet about the situation until she heard from others that Star is telling people that it was a work. Calling her a liar, the 33-year-old Winnipeg native said that the only reason Star’s face is not broken is because a voice in her head kept repeating, “Don’t go to Mexican prison…”

Rosemary thanked the fans for the outpouring support and said she was overwhelmed by how many messages she received from her peers. She thanked her other two opponents, Vampiro for trying to calm the situation, and the GFW locker room for their support.

Rosemary escapes serious injury after Sexy Star shoots on her at AAA TripleMania XXV

Former GFW Knockouts champion Rosemary was lucky to escape serious injury last night during the AAA Triplemania XXV event in Mexico after Sexy Star, the Mexican Luchadora from Lucha Underground, nearly broke her arm.

Both ladies were taking part in a four-way match for the AAA Reina de Reinas title along with Ayako Hamada and Lady Shani. During the closing segment of the match, Star went in shoot mode and locked an armbar. As Rosemary tapped, Star held on to the submission move and popped Rosemary’s shoulder out.

PWInsider.com adds to the story that Vampiro led Sexy Star to apologize to Rosemary backstage after the match.

The actions of Sexy Star did not go down well with many of her fellow wrestlers due to her unprofessionalism. Independent wrestler Joey Ryan wrote, “Whether it’s dick flips or submissions, we constantly put our health in each others hands. If you violate that trust, you’re not one of us.” Nicole Matthews, the former SHIMMER champion echoed Ryan’s statement and wrote, “If you’re unprofessional enough and enough of a garbage human to deliberately injure someone, GTFO. Don’t need ya here.”

Meanwhile, Shayna Baszler, who will be competing in the Mae Young Classic and is a former mixed martial artist, added, “I WISH someone would try…”

Ronda Rousey getting married today in Hawaii

Ronda Rousey, who is doing wrestling training at the moment, will be taking some time off as she is getting married…today in Hawaii!

The former UFC Bantamweight champion chose the perfect date to avoid the media circus since everyone will be focused on the Mayweather vs McGregor fight.

Rousey is marrying her boyfriend and fellow mixed martial artist Travis Browne. UFC President Dana White revealed the news yesterday and said that Rousey called him to tell him she’s getting married and asked him if he would be attending. White said he would…until Rousey told him it’s today.

Ronda Rousey is rumored to be inching towards transitioning to a wrestling career as she recently started learning the ropes. You will see Rousey during the Mae Young Classic tournament as she will be ringside cheering on for her friend Shayna Baszler.

NXT commentator Mauro Ranallo calling Mayweather/McGregor fight tonight

Just in case you’ve been living under a rock, tonight there’s this boxing fight featuring Floyd “Money” Mayweather and “Notorious” Conor McGregor, a boxing fight that is expected to break all kind of pay-per-view and gate records.

Calling the action tonight for Showtime will be a very, very familiar voice for wrestling fans. Former Smackdown and current NXT commentator Mauro Ranallo will be in charge of the play-by-play, certainly the biggest and most prestigious fight he has called to date.

Ranallo, who does regular work for Showtime, was chosen to call the action along with host Brian Custer, analyst Al Bernstein, ringside reporter Jim Gray, as well as color analyst Paulie Malignaggi.

The man known as “The Bipolar Rock and Roller“ has called Showtime Championship Boxing since 2012. He is a former Pride and Strikeforce commentator as well.

WWE wished Ranallo good luck in a tweet.

Charlotte Flair resuming touring with WWE after time off

Charlotte Flair will be back on the road with WWE this weekend in what looks like good news for the health of her father, the Nature Boy Ric Flair.

Charlotte flew straight to Atlanta from China where she was doing promotional work for WWE for the launch of the WWE Network and the upcoming live event next month and has not appeared on television or live events since then. She has been by her father’s bedside from the moment she returned to the United States and WWE gave her all the time off she needs to be with him, including skipping the SummerSlam weekend.

Over the past few days there have been encouraging signs that Flair has been getting better although his road to complete recovery will take several weeks. The two-time WWE Hall of Famer has been in hospital since August 12 and at one point he was knocking on death’s door.

Dwayne Johnson to meet 10-year-old boy who saved brother’s life

A 10-year-old boy who saved his brother from drowning after learning chest compressions and CPR from watching Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson save his on-screen daughter in San Andreas will now get a chance to meet his hero.

Jacob, from Detroit, explained how his 2-year-old brother had fallen face first into his grandmother’s pool for a minute in late July. He recalled that he watched a scene from the San Andreas movie where The Rock used the same procedure to bring back Alexandra Daddario’s character back to life.

“I pulled him out and started giving him compressions,” Jacob told WXYZ. “There was an earthquake, then it caused a tsunami and then there was a daughter that was drowning and he had to get her out and he did the same thing,” he added, explaining the movie.

His brother was hospitalized for two days but he’s well now and has no neurological damage or any lasting effects.

When Johnson learned about the story, he immediately used his social media to give a shout out to Jacob. “Wow amazing story. Giving you a Twitter high-five Jacob for saving your little brother’s life. You’re a real life hero. We’re all proud of you! DJ,” Johnson tweeted.

Now, the former WWE champion is doing something more than just a shout-out.

“I gotta shake the hand of a real life 10yr old hero. Jacob, I’m gonna fly you and your family out to Vancouver so I can meet you. Hopefully, your little 2yr old brother, Dylan is well enough to fly because I wanna meet him too. I’ll have some very nice people contact your family in the upcoming days to make the arrangements.
Can’t wait to meet you big man. And make sure you bring your sweet tooth,” Johnson wrote.

You can watch a video of Johnson explaining the story and what he plans for Jacob and his family below.
