Wrestling world remembers “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton

The wrestling world woke up to the news that one half of the legendary Midnight Express, Bobby Eaton, passed away last night at the age of 62. Many of his peers and all four major wrestling promotions in the United States paid tribute to Eaton on social media all day.

“WWE is saddened to learn that Bobby Eaton passed away at the age of 62. WWE extends its condolences to Eaton’s family, friends and fans,” WWE said in a statement along with a story on the website.

“AEW joins the wrestling world in mourning the passing of a true legend and one of the greatest tag team wrestlers off all-time “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton. Our thoughts are with his family, his friends and his fans,” said AEW on Twitter.

Impact Wrestling and the NWA also issued short statements on their social media. “We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton – part of the legendary Midnight Express tag team. We offer our heartfelt condolences to his friends and family,” said Impact, while the NWA wrote, “The National Wrestling Alliance is Saddened to hear about the passing of the legendary ‘Beautiful’ Bobby Eaton. We send our love to his friends and family. His impact & legacy will always be remembered.”

NXT General Manager and former tag team partner of Eaton, William Regal, described him as a dear friend, partner, travel buddy, teacher, and superbly skilled pro. “My deepest condolences to Taryn, Dillon & Dustin and family of Bobby Eaton who has passed away,” Regal wrote.

A man who shared the ring several times with Eaton, Arn Anderson, said he was woken up by his wife delivering the worst news possible. “The world lost its finest citizen. If there was a kinder, gentler person I would sure love to meet them. I could spend all day talking about how special he was in a wrestling ring. That’s easy,” Double A wrote. “What’s hard is to do justice to the person he was. To his family thank you for sharing Bobby with the world. I will treasure the memories of him forever.”

The “Nature Boy” Ric Flair chimed in writing that he was so sad and sorry to hear about his close friend and one of the all time greats passing away. “Beautiful Bobby and The Midnight Express were one of the greatest tag teams in the history of the business! Rest In Peace!”

Jim Ross called many of Eaton’s matches and described him as a fabulous in-ring talent and a much better human outside the ring. “I was there when Bill Watts created the Midnight Express and will always cherish those times. RIP Beautiful Bobby,” Ross wrote.

Eric Bischoff, who was Eaton’s boss down in WCW, said, “My heart goes out to the family, friends, and fans of Bobby Eaton. One of a kind talent whose skill in the ring made it look so real.”

Jerry “The King” Lawler wrote that he lost two great friends and wrestling legends in one day, Bert Prentice and Bobby Eaton. “No words…rest in peace my friends.”

Rick Morton of The Rock N’ Roll Express simply wrote that he loves Eaton and Michael PS Hayes of The Fabulous Freebirds wrote that cannot begin to tell everyone how sorry he is to hear of Bobby Eaton’s passing. “Terry and I first met and worked with Bobby in 1978. What a tremendous worker and person! My condolences and prayers go out to his family, friends and fans.”

Lex Luger also worked with Eaton in WCW and said that Eaton not only was he a one of a kind wrestling talent, but a truly generous and gentle soul. “Prayers for his family. We will miss you Bobby and thanks for always having extra clean towels and stuff for all the boys.”

Gary Michael Cappetta, the longtime NWA and WCW ring announcer said that he was beyond sad to hear of Bobby’s passing. “Everything you’ve heard is true – Bobby was kind, gentle caring and loyal. The sport has never known a more accomplished performer. My deepest sympathy to his family.”

NXT rating for 08/03/2021

NXT on SyFy on Tuesday pulled in the same 520,000 viewers that it did last week. This ties last week’s show as the least-watched episode of NXT on cable television so far. The show did a 0.10 rating in the 18-49 demo which is also a record low for the show. This was not a nice two weeks for the black and gold brand but the show is back on USA Network next week. AEW’s Leyla Hirsch gets NWA Women’s title shot at Empower pay-per-view

Leyla Hirsch will have a shot at the NWA Women’s title at the upcoming NWA Empower pay-per-view after she beat The Bunny last night on Dynamite in a number one contender’s match.

After the match, Hirsch had a face-to-face with the NWA Women’s champ Kamille, showing off a massive size difference as Kamille is a whole foot taller than Hirsch. Kamille, who was sitting at ringside, flaunted her title belt in front of Hirsch, standing tall over her.

Kamille won the NWA Women’s title from another AEW star, Serena Deeb, during the When Our Shadows Fall event two months ago. The NWA title has been featured on Dynamite several times ever since Thunder Rosa, who was champ at the time, made her first appearance for AEW.

Jericho gets Wardlow and MJF as special referee for next challenge

After successfully beating Juventud Guerrera in his third match of the Five Labours of Jericho series, the former AEW champ will be taking on Wardlow next week in his fourth challenge.

Jericho defeated Guerrera with the Judas Effect from the top rope and the stipulation was that Jericho could only win via a move from the top rope. Earlier, Jericho tried to lock in the Walls of Jericho on Guerrera in a move that started on the top rope but Juvi broke the move as he reached for the ropes.

With Wardlow his next opponent, Jericho also has to face another big hurdle as the referee for the match will be MJF himself.

So far, Jericho has gone through Shawn Spears, Nick Gage, and Guerrera in a bid to meet MJF in a singles match.

The most attractive gambling gifts: no deposit bonus codes in Australia

Before you grab a no deposit bonus code offer, it’s crucial to understand how it works. Not all bonuses are the same. The biggest is not always the best. In Australia, online casinos have a relatively limited variety of gambling gifts. But they are still quite attractive. This is especially the case with no deposit bonus codes. They have recently become a growing trend in the AU gambling sector.

No Deposit Gambling Opportunity

The online gambling industry has taken the online space by storm. With an estimated value of $59.6 billion 2020, it can offer you some attractive gifts. These can be extra money, real discounts, or anything else. Many casinos offer around AUD$2,000 bonus upon registration. Sound amazing, right? All money tends to land on your account on the same day.

One thing is clear: it’s going to be something incredibly attractive and encouraging. However, gaming sites with this type of bonus have a maximum winning requirement. For example, you can only win up to $100 before you can cash out your winnings.

No Deposit Bonus Codes

Jackpot Jill Casino no deposit bonus codes happen to be a good example of attractive gambling offers. Without asking for a single cent, they let you proceed with gambling activities just after the registration. Over the last decade, this kind of special offer has become incredibly popular in the gambling industry.

The competition is very stiff and online casinos don’t have any choice but be creative with their approach to acquiring customers. For example, Jackpot Jill Casino welcomes new players to join Jackpot Jill Casino by granting them 100 wager free spins no deposit bonus or slot machine Buffalo Power. The maximum cash out is $100, which is automatically credited to your account upon registration. At OnlineCasinoAussie, you can find even more information on local bonuses.

The best thing about no deposit bonuses is what stands behind them. This can be money, free spins, discounts, or something else. However, note that these bonuses aren’t developed equal. It’s crucial to read the fine print to realize the rules, including the deposit and wagering requirement. Also, make sure to see whether you’re actually getting something from it.

Don’t forget that casino bonuses have expiration dates, which can range from several hours to several months. A good no deposit code will let you complete the wagering without any stress. Short validity periods make players enhance their bets. As a result, they have greater variance and bigger chances of losing.

Conclusion

Are you looking for no deposit bonus codes like those offered by Jackpot Jill Casino? Well, you can find plenty of them at https://onlinecasinoaussie.com/safe-online-casino/. This online resource contains valuable information on the major gambling sites. Special attention is paid to the system of rewards and bonuses.

AussieOnlineCasino aims to help AU gamblers enjoy a gambling routine through the right resources. You should look at the reliability of the online casino in terms of financial safety. Just because they offer great welcome bonuses doesn’t mean they are trustworthy and reliable. There are other aspects to consider, including their payment and payout methods, rules and charges, licensing, customer support, and game quality. Remember to read the reviews as they are important before signing up for an online casino platform.

Don’t rush with the choice. Whether it will be Jackpot Jill Casino or any other online casino, you should feel positive about the selected platform.

“Beautiful” Bobby Eaton passes away at age 62

The Cauliflower Alley Club Twitter account just broke the news that “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton has passed away at the age of 62. No cause of death was revealed.

“I really hate doing these it’s been a rough week, but we once again send out our sincerest condolences to the family, friends and the fans around the world as the legendary Beautiful Bobby Eaton has passed away at the age of 62. We thank you for the Memories. R.I.P. Bobby,” the CAC account said.

Bobby’s sister Debbie wrote on Facebook that he passed away last night but doesn’t have all the details yet. “Bobby was the kindest, loving person you would ever meet. I loved him so much and going to miss him,” she wrote. “Please say a prayer for my niece Taryn, she found him, and she just lost her mom a little over a month ago.”

Making his debut in 1976, Eaton found much success with the Jim Crockett Promotions and WCW as part of the legendary tag team The Midnight Express, teaming up with “Sweet” Stan Lane under the managerial duties of Jim Cornette. The duo had some of the best tag team feuds in history.

After spending several years in a tag team, Eaton went solo while in WCW and immediately won the World Television title and then later joined The Dangerous Alliance, spearheaded by Paul Heyman. After a short tour in Japan, Eaton returned to WCW from 1993 to 2000 where he tag teamed with Steven Regal to form The Blue Bloods.

In late 2006, Eaton was hospitalized with what he said was high blood pressure and diabetes and had made several trips to the hospital over the years due to his declining health. Eaton was also fitted with a pacemaker due to heart problems.

Four-man commentary team for AEW Rampage

If a three-man commentary team is considered too much, well, how about four?

In what is likely to be a first, AEW announced that Excalibur, Taz, Mark Henry, and Chris Jericho will be the commentary team for AEW’s newest Friday night show Rampage, starting on August 13.

This is Excalibur’s third show doing commentary as he already does Dynamite and Dark while Taz already does commentary for Dark as well.

Rampage will be live the first two weeks with shows from the Petersen Events Center in Pittsburg and the United Center in Chicago. Most of the year, Rampage will be taped on Wednesdays along with Dynamite but there will be a mix of live shows as well.

Ronda Rousey blames WWE fans for Bray Wyatt’s release

And with just a tweet, Ronda Rousey turned heel.

The former Raw Women’s champion took to social media to blame fans for the release of Bray Wyatt. Ronda wrote that she saw the same fans who chanted “we want Wyatt” on Raw chant “we want beach balls” over Wyatt performing, probably referring to one of the rowdy – no pun intended – Raw after Mania crowds.

“If the WWE treated him like he was expendable it was because you ungrateful idiots did first,” Rousey wrote, pulling no punches whatsoever.

Rousey, who is pregnant, has not been seen on WWE television ever since she was pinned by Becky Lynch in the main event of WrestleMania 35.

Tonight’s Dynamite live on TNT is titled Homecoming and will see AEW return to Jacksonville at the Daily’s Place for the first time since resuming touring last month.

Assuming coronavirus does not wreck havoc again, this will be the last time in a while that AEW will run The Daily’s Place.

Former WWE Superstar Ruby Riott rumored for AEW arrival

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Wrestling via his Select service is reporting that the artist formerly known as Ruby Riott is heading to All Elite Wrestling when her 90-day notice with WWE ends.

Now going by the name of Ruby Soho, the 30-year-old was cut from WWE in June of this year due to budget cuts after a four and a half years with the promotion. She started with NXT in January of 2017 and stayed with the black and gold brand till the end of the year before moving to the main roster.

Ever since being released from WWE, Ruby has largely stayed out of the public eye and just yesterday unveiled her new look with fiery-red hair on Twitter.

Despite being one of the best female wrestlers, Ruby never won a title in WWE but hopefully that will change if or when she’s able to link up with All Elite Wrestling.

Cody Rhodes talks resuming touring, stadium show, and COVID-19

During a media conference call with reporters, AEW EVP Cody Rhodes spoke about resuming touring in the United States and hopefully in the United Kingdom as well.

Rhodes said that the company has a full schedule already mapped out going forward and the company wants to go to the United Kingdom. He said that anyone who runs a wrestling promotion and fails to go to the UK, then they don’t really run a wrestling company.

Asked about if AEW is thinking of doing a big stadium show, Rhodes said that personally, he would love if they run one at the American Family Field, previously known as Miller Park, but that’s just his personal opinion and cannot say if it’s being discussed or not.

With the COVID-19 Delta variant running rampant and the risks of shutting down again, Cody said that the company will always abide by mandates of each state they will perform in and said that fans should wear a mask if it makes them feel better. Cody also urged everyone to get vaccinated.

The former NXT tag team Ever-Rise, featuring Chase Parker and Matt Martel, will be appearing on AEW Dynamite tonight, just over a month after they were released from WWE.

The duo got surprisingly cut on June 25 but wasted no time in securing a new job. Now known as 2.0, Jeff Parker and Matt Lee will be teaming up with Daniel Garcia to take on Jon Moxley, Eddie Kingston, and Darby Allin on the Homecoming episode of Dynamite live on TNT.

“Free agency huh? Hell of a thing! How about it? Free agency feels really good,” the duo said in a promo hyping up their AEW arrival.

Formerly known as 3.0, the two signed a WWE deal in January 2019 and were regulars on 205 Live, hosting their own show, and wrestling on NXT.

NXT back on Syfy tonight as Lumis fights for Indi Hartwell

For the second week in a row, NXT will be airing on Syfy tonight as the Olympics are taking their slot on USA Network. This show was taped two weeks ago and will air at 8PM ET.

Four matches have been announced so far for the broadcast. A love her or leave her match will take place between Dexter Lumis and Johnny Gargano. The stipulations are simple: if Lumis wins, then he gets to date Indi Hartwell. If Gargano wins, then it’s all over for the love story. The other matches are Hit Row vs Legado del Fantasma, Bobby Fish vs Roderick Strong, and Joe Gacy vs Trey Baxter in the NXT Breakout Tournament.

Last week’s NXT on Syfy drew the lowest audience for an NXT broadcast with just 520,000 viewers tuning in.

Former NXT referee Drake Wuertz running for Florida State Representative

Former NXT referee Drake Wuertz, who was fired for his radical views and failure to comply with COVID-19 regulations within WWE in May of this year, announced today that he’s running for Florida State Representative in District 30.

“The land we love has changed in recent years. We’ve seen our liberties and rights be stripped away at the quake of others fears. We’ve been told that it’s selfish to defend our God-given Rights,” Wuertz wrote in a post on social media, accompanied by a photo of him and his family. “As a Christian, a family man, and a community leader I’m answering the call to rise up and defend our great state while representing the hard working constituents of District 30.”

Wuertz refereed in NXT since 2014 and was the head of the NXT referee group. He raised some eyebrows with his far right political beliefs and participating in some questionable online meetings sporting WWE merchandise from the Performance Center over the past few months.

Last month, Wuertz confirmed that he was fired for refusing to comply with WWE’s COVID-19 rules. “I questioned, pushed back, and then defied this tyrannical overreach of control. That didn’t fit their narrative and I was punished,” Wuertz wrote.

The 36-year-old described himself as a “MAGA Republican” and “a bold conservative” and vowed to be “the warrior our state needs to push back against the radical left.”

Wuertz opened a campaign website at www.votedrake.com where he is accepting donations to “keep Florida great!”

Ric Flair issues statement on his social media after his WWE release

In a statement issued via social media, Ric Flair said that he’s able to respond to all questions from the press related to his release from WWE.

“I want to make it really clear with everyone that I’m not upset with WWE at all,” Flair wrote. “They solely are responsible for putting me in the position of life that I’m in right now, where I’m seen in the brightest light ever.”

Flair added that he and WWE have a different vision for his future and he wishes them nothing but continued success.

“Thank you for everything! Nothing but respect,” Flair concluded.

WWE’s statement on Flair’s release suggest ugly breakup

WWE announced that they released Ric Flair last night in a super short statement that was missing the customary “we wish him luck in his future endeavors” sentence.

The statement simply read, “We have come to terms on the release of Ric Flair as of today, 8/03/2021,” suggesting that things did not end on a good note between the two parties.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer hinted that Flair didn’t ask to be let go, but was fired after he complained about the booking involving his daughter.

The 16-time champion signed a new WWE deal last year and said that while it was not a contract for life, he wished that WWE would renew it every time. This came on the heels of Flair handing over his trademark of “The Man” to WWE, a fight which Flair took public.

Upon learning of the release, Sting – who shares a long history with the Nature Boy – tweeted a GIF of Flair chopping him and writing “Woooo!”

Goldberg gets Lashley for the WWE title at SummerSlam 2021

Following his appearance on Monday Night Raw yesterday, Hall of Famer Goldberg got what he wanted for SummerSlam – a match for the WWE title against champion Bobby Lashley.

Things got personal between Goldberg, Lashley, and MVP last night after Lashley confronted Goldberg’s son Gage who was at ringside. Lashley told Gage that he will beat his dad bad at SummerSlam. MVP then pushed Lashley back and talked to Gage.

“You see that man right there? That man is going to end your father’s career,” MVP said. As he continued to run his mouth, Goldberg came back down the ramp and speared MVP.

Goldberg’s last shot at the WWE title came at the Royal Rumble this year but lost to Drew McIntyre. Goldberg has never won the WWE title in his career, winning the World Heavyweight title and the Universal title during his time there.
