Becky Lynch attended Paramount+’s Star Trek: Starfleet Academy world premiere at The American Museum of Natural History yesterday in New York City.
The new Women’s Intercontinental champion carried her title belt proudly with her on the red, or in this case blue, carpet as she wrote a stunning black and gold outfit, with long black gloves and big gold earrings.
The TV show premieres on January 15 exclusively on Paramount+ and Lynch will have a guest role as one of the Starfleet bridge crew.

Stone Cold Steve Austin sat down with Chris Van Vliet at Broken Skull Ranch in Nevada to discuss his legendary wrestling career, iconic theme song, how beer became a part of his celebration, why he came out of retirement to wrestle Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 38, a possible in-ring comeback, why he and Bret Hart had great chemistry, a dream match with CM Punk, who took the worst Stunner of all time, his cats Pancho and Macho, and more!
You look like you could still go:
“I could. God dang it. And just saying that takes me back to when we did that WrestleMania match with Kevin Owens in Dallas, Texas, and they didn’t send a ring down for me to work out in to get any kind of timing or hit the ropes. I remember going down there, and I was running the ropes and taking a couple of flat back bumps before we got into the ring, but you can’t get your timing or any kind of anything back, much less your wind. I was over here in my gym doing all kinds of cardio, because when that glass breaks, or whoever’s music hits, and you start walking to the ring, man, just the buzz of the crowd. I’ve seen people blow up walking to the ring, because that’s just what a crowd can do to you. So just going there with Kevin Owens and trying to have that match with him, where we didn’t bill it as a match, but it was going to be a match, so to speak. I remember telling Kevin, and I was knocking the sh*t out of him. I was potatoing him so bad because I hadn’t thrown a punch in 19 years, and he never threw a receipt. I told him, because we keep in touch with each other every now and then. I just wish that he could have been in the ring with me when I was really going, you know, full speed and had my timing, because he’s a great worker, and I really like him a lot. I wish he would have got a chance to experience me when I was in my prime, because that would have been a great contest. But I could still do it, and I’m not advocating for nothing, so I’m not selling a match here, Chris. But you asked me, could I? Yes.”
Would you?
“Probably not. I’ll say that, but you say never. But with the knee replacement I had last year? God dang, I was limping around so bad, and I didn’t know I was limping, and people would ask me, ‘What’s wrong?’ I said, ‘What are you talking about?’ [They said] ‘You’re limping.’ F*ck, I didn’t know, because I don’t watch myself walk. And then finally, after everybody kept pointing it out to me, I could feel it, no doubt that’s why I was limping. And then it just started getting really bad because of all the arthritis in there. And finally, last year, I had it replaced. I was thinking why didn’t I do this sooner to get out of so much pain? I’ve always wondered what arthritis felt like. Man, I found out firsthand. It’s chronically over time, years and years and years of it. It’ll change your personality. It just puts you in a state of mind where you just want some relief, so to get that relief and come out on the other side and still be active.”
Who took the worst stunner?
“Easily Vince is the worst.”
Worse than Linda?
“Well, because there’s multiple occasions with Vince where, Jesus, you can screw one up. Of course, me and Linda, she was like a second mom to me. I didn’t see her often, but when she was there, she was just so nice to me, and we would always have great conversations. So I felt bad that that one didn’t turn out good. But Vince had so many opportunities, and they were always so awful, especially the one at WrestleMania [where I wrestled] Kevin Owens, it was just terrible. So I had to start laughing, because you got to let everybody know that, hey, that’s really bad. Rock took a good one. Scott Hall took a good one. A bunch of people. There’s so many, I can’t list them all.”
How close were you to being a part of WrestleMania 40?
“Things just didn’t line up. I had other things going on. I remember when they pitched that to me. I said, dude, I got some things going on. I don’t see myself being there. That was way in advance. Was it pitched to me, or did they want me there? Yeah. But I wasn’t in a position to go.”
So there was never a possibility?
“No, there was a possibility that I could have been there had I chose to go there. I had other sh*t going on. WWE is this multi-billion dollar corporation. I got a metal shop that we’re sitting in. So sometimes the multi-billion dollar company has an idea that the dude that has the metal shop [should make an appearance], it just don’t work. So it didn’t work. I’m over here in my metal shop. I like to do as much as I can with WWE when it works, when it works for them, when it works for me, and when it’s going to be fun. But in that and saying that not everything lines up on a timeline basis, I had other sh*t going on.”
How close were we to getting Stone Cold vs. CM Punk?
“It was teased at one time, we were promoting a video game, and I think I just had an ACL, PCL [surgery]. Maybe it was teased, but it just never happened, just like me and Hogan never [happened]. Many things never happened. There’s so much good sh*t that did happen. Not everything can happen.”
Why didn’t we get Stone Cold vs. Goldberg?
“I don’t know. I think we pitched it when he first came in, but he wasn’t at the level that he needed to be. He had just come into WWF, and he needed to get going or get over first. He was certainly over from his WCW days. I think a little bit of time had elapsed, but I watched him down there in Atlanta, but we were all on the road at the time, and that was during the Monday Night Wars. If you set your DVR to record back in the day, you kind of knew what was going on. I watched Dallas Page kind of go down a parallel path as me too as far as this timeline of getting over. But yeah, you know, Goldberg just needed to put some time in WWF before we could go, and then it just never happened. Bill is a good friend of mine.”
NXT aired a vignette of their newest arrival, French wrestler Elio LeFleur.
The 26-year-old, who previously wrestled under the name Aigle Blanc, dons a mask and is a popular high-flyer in the European circle.
“The White Eagle is ready to take the flight from Paris, France, to the United States. The French luchador Elio LeFleur is coming to NXT, and I am here to slash the sky,” he said in the vignette.
The Frenchman reported to the WWE Performance Center in September of last year and has been doing non-televised live event matches since then. In November, he was part of the AAA Cruiserweight Title number one contender match during the AAA Alianzas event.
Hall of Famer Jake “The Snake” Roberts underwent successful hip surgery and is now at home to start the recovery process.
The news was announced by his ex-wife and partner Cheryl in a post on social media, writing, “Surgery was a huge success! Jake is now home and recovering. Thank you for all prayers and well wishes.”
Roberts, 70, is still employed by AEW but has not appeared on AEW television for well over a year, mainly due to several health issues. Roberts also underwent heart ablation surgery eight months ago.

Izzi Dame pulled double duty last night on NXT, first losing to Tatum Paxley and then answered the NXT Women’s North American title open challenge.
The title was supposed to be defended by Thea Hail against Blake Monroe but Monroe attacked the champion during her entrance and the match was called off, with Monroe being ejected from the building by Ava.
After a few segments, Ava informed Hail that her match against Monroe would be pushed back but Hail wanted the open challenge to return and she wanted it on the show.
Limping to the ring selling the attack from Monroe, Hail said she promised a title match and she’s there for the open challenge. Many of the women tried to get to Hail but Tatum Paxley scared everyone with a chainsaw. At that point, Izzy Dame entered the ring from behind and kicked Hail, with The Culling throwing the referee in the ring and making the timekeeper ring the bell.
The match ended when Dame delivered her Super Dame Over finisher, covering Hail for the pinfall victory.
Oba Femi successfully defended the NXT title last night at New Year’s Evil against Leon Slater, but what happened afterward was the newsworthy part of the whole evening.
The ending of NXT saw Femi posing with the title and cameras moved to a scene backstage, where NXT General Manager Ava was talking to talent from EVOLVE about maybe coming up to replace the people who were recently called up to the main roster.
At that point, Mr. Stone stormed in and asked Ava if she was aware of what happened in the ring.
A live view of inside the WWE PC then showed the NXT title in the middle of the ring, with Oba Femi nowhere to be found, suggesting that Femi is departing NXT for the main roster, leaving the title behind.
As the camera panned backwards and the house lights slowly turned on, Tony D’Angel could be seen in the background among the fans, looking at the title in the distance.
“Opportunity knocks…” wrote the WWE X account. “Who will step up in 2026 and rise to the top of NXT?”
The annual NXT New Year’s Evil show will take place tonight live from the WWE Performance Center and airing on The CW in the United States and on Netflix internationally.
Four matches, three of which are for titles, will make up the card, headlined by Oba Femi defending the NXT title against TNA X Division champion Leon Slater. Kendal Gray also gets a shot at the NXT Women’s title against Jacy Jayne following her Iron Survivor Challenge win.
Plus, Thea Hail defends the NXT Women’s North American title against former champ Blake Monroe and Tatum Paxley battles Izzy Dame.
Joe Hendry is returning to TNA Wrestling at the upcoming Genesis pay-per-view later this month.

It’s not known if Hendry will be involved in a match or just doing an appearance at this point.
Genesis is live from the Curtis Culwell Center in Dallas, Texas on Saturday, January 17 and takes place just two days after TNA makes its debut on AMC.

Hendry signed with WWE in November and has been part of NXT ever since.
A trio of AEW stars have been removed from the roster page, but one in particular who is believed to be a free agent, remains.
Mercedes Martinez, Matt Taven of The Kingdom, and manager Alex Abrahantes have all departed AEW and their profiles have been removed from the AEW website page.
However, Chris Jericho, who was reportedly becoming a free agent on January 1, is still on the page as part of the AEW roster, raising some questions if his contract really did expire at the end of 2025.
A hint by Raw General Manager Adam Pearce for Jericho while hyping up Raw did not amount to anything as Jericho was not part of the broadcast.

Maxxine Dupri’s reign as the Women’s Intercontinental champion came to a screeching halt last night on Raw as The Man, Becky Lynch, regained the title.
The finish did not come clean though as Lynch had to grab the ropes for some extra leverage after she was locked in the ankle lock and performed a bridge to reverse the maneuver, holding on to the bottom rope.
Lynch has been on a mission to win back the title since she lost it on the November 17 episode of Raw from Madison Square Garden thanks in part to some distraction from AJ Lee.
This was Dupri’s first-ever run with a title in WWE which ended after 49 days.
NXT last week drew 604,000 viewers, up just 2,000 viewers from the prior week. In 18-49, NXT had a 0.07 rating, which is down 0.01 from the previous two episodes and the lowest since November 11. (Ratings credit: Programming Insider)
The popular tag team of Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky are now WWE Women’s Tag Team champions after they defeated Asuka and Kairi Sane in the opening match of last night’s Raw from Brooklyn.
The crowd exploded after Ripley delivered the Riptide on Asuka and Sky hit the moonsault, with Ripley covering the former multi-time champ for the pinfall victory.
The victory ended the Kabuki Warriors’ 56-day reign as champions, winning them from Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair in November on Raw.
This is the first reign for the team affectionately known as Rhiyo, but it’s Sky’s third time with the title and Ripley’s second.
WWE today announced that Netflix has been selected as the official home of the WWE video library in the United States, and subscribers will get similar availability as those internationally.
The deal, announced through a press release, says it’s an expansion to the long-term partnership the two companies already have.
It also states that the premium live event library will include everything prior to September 2025, including WrestleMania, SummerSlam and Royal Rumble, as well as award-winning documentaries and original programming. All PLEs from September 2025 onward will be part of the ESPN video library since they own the rights.
WCW, ECW, and other territories that WWE own rights to are not available as part of this deal.
Peacock in the United States still has rights to NXT premium live events and it’s catalog and those rights will expire in March 2026.
No financial information was released and it remains unclear how much Netflix paid for this non-exclusive deal, if they paid at all.
