MJF appears on the Adam Friedland podcast

AEW World champion appeared in studio on the Adam Friedland podcast this week to discuss wrestling psychology, being better than everyone else, and tests Adam on his insult skills.

“When it comes to Adam Friedland, this dumb, disgusting sniveling hebe, with a rape mustache,” MJF says. “That four-eyed piece of sh*t is going to go down.”

“Dude, I hate you so much,” Adam says.

“Hell yeah,” MJF says.

“Your mom had sex with every single guy at the company,” Adam says. “Even the guys that cleaned the bathrooms…”

“Okay,” MJF says.

“Not only them, just guys that live near the building,” Adam says.

MJF bursts out laughing.

Some more highlights from the episode.

Adam tries to improve MJF’s catchphrase:

“‘I’m Maxwell Jacob Friedman and I’m better than you and you know it’,” MJF says. “And it’s effective.”

“I’ll give you a couple notes,” Adam says. “You need something that enters the cultural zeitgeist. When DX did two words, ‘Suck it’, it caused an epidemic in middle school.”

“Oh yeah, children just pointing at their crotches,” MJF laughs.

“I just think that ‘I’m better than you’ is a thing rich girls in high school say,” Adam says.

On Kids f*cking themselves up copying MJF’s moves:

“A kid may have died trying to do one of your moves,” Adam says.

“Oh, there are plenty of kids who are paralyzed, and I think that’s funny,” MJF says. “The fact that all wrestling fans are still breathing is a testament to the human race and our toughness.”

On the fake pilot who tried to abduct MJF:

“Before security comes, QT goes, ‘Wait a minute, wait a minute, we’ll let you go if you show us your pilot’s license,'” MJF explains. “I sh*t you not, the guy does this [pat’s down his chest], ‘Ah! I left it at home!’ Get the fuck out of here! So, then they throw the guy in the brigg.”

“How did he get access to you?” Adam asks.

“We still don’t know how he got backstage,” MJF says. “They asked this guy what he was planning on doing, and he was honest. He said he was going to abduct me.”

“An adult man!” Adam laughs.

On MJF’s goals:

“I’m here to be a star,” MJF says. “I’m here to make the most money. I’m here to be world champion. I’m here to be a draw. I’m about to start doing big movies. I’m here to make a name for myself and build my brand up to such a point that I become synonymous with not just elite wrestling, but wrestling as a whole.”

How MJF became famous:

“Little by little,” MJF says. “It was momentum, which I think you can relate to, specifically with Cum Town. You guys were doing funny bit after funny bit, and little by little it started getting traction. Then you started doing this, and you got some serious traction. That was my wrestling career. Every single shot I was doing, you had people going, “Fuck… this MJF kid, he’s something special.”

WWE takes over Allegiant Stadium for WrestleMania 42

WrestleMania 42

WWE took over the Allegiant Stadium today to start building the WrestleMania stage.

A Bruno Mars concert during the weekend prevented an earlier load-in but the WWE crew along with the hundreds of locals engaged to help with the build will have five days to complete everything before the stage unveil on Friday.

It is unlikely that there will be an elaborate set just like last year’s WrestleMania considering last year they had around two weeks to build it. The WrestleMania stage is usually one of the most things that fans look forward to every year.

Gabe Kidd suffers shoulder injured, out indefinitely

Former AEW Trios champ Gabe Kidd suffered a shoulder injury during the trios match last night at Dynasty and was taken out of the match by AEW’s medical team.

It is believed that Kidd suffered a dislocated shoulder and will be out for quite a while. AEW President Tony Khan said in the post-show media scrum that Kidd is out indefinitely and he was being evaluated by medics.

Kidd, along with David Finlay and Clark Connors won the AEW Trios titles during the Saturday Collision but their reign only lasted one day, losing the titles at Dynasty to The Conglomeration. According to multiple insiders, the finish of the match was not affected by Kidd’s injury and Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong, and Kyle O’Reilly were still scheduled to win the title regardless.

MJF vs Darby Allin for the AEW World title announced for Dynamite

Following a hard-fought battle at Dynasty to retain the AEW World title against Kenny Omega, MJF will not have much time to rest as his next title defense is this coming Wednesday.

AEW President Tony Khan announced during the Dynasty post-show media scrum that Darby Allin will get the title shot he earned in the city where he first trained to be a professional wrestler, in Everett, Washington.

Allin earned the shot after he beat Andrade El Idolo at Dynasty yesterday night.

The MJF vs Allin match will headline the Dynamite portion of the Spring BreakThru-themed episodes.

Kyle O’Reilly returns, wins AEW Trios titles at Dynasty

Kyle O’Reilly has returned to AEW after a five-month absence due to an injury.

O’Reilly was the surprise partner of Orange Cassidy and Roderick Strong in their trios match against The Dogs for the AEW Trios titles. O’Reilly even picked up the win for his team, tapping out Clark Connors to win the titles, titles which The Dogs won on last night’s taped episode of Collision.

This was O’Reilly’s first match since November’s Full Gear pay-per-view and his win against Jon Moxley. The former member of the Undisputed Era was dealing with a neck injury which thankfully did not require surgery.

Dynamite and Collision Spring BreakThru on back-to-back nights this week

AEW logo

The Dynamite and Collision Spring BreakThru themed episodes will be returning this week.

The two shows will air Wednesday and Thursday, starting at 8PM ET on TBS and TNT respectively, which means that Collision’s second hour will run head-to-head with TNA Impact’s first hour again.

The reason why Collision is being moved this time around is to avoid going head-to-head with WrestleMania 42.

Collision is being taped right after Dynamite so it will not be live on Thursday night. The shows will be held at the Angles of the Wind Arena in Everett, Washington.

Alberto El Patron out of jail following domestic abuse allegations

SuperLuchas is reporting, quoting local media in Mexico, that Alberto El Patron was released from jail yesterday following his domestic violence assault on April 6.

The Mexican star paid 1 million pesos, the equivalent of $57,000, to his wife and got her forgiveness as well. While he is out of jail, the case against him will continue.

This was not the first time that he was arrested for the same reason. In 2020, he was also picked up by cops following sexual assault and battery allegations from his girlfriend at the time. The charges were eventually dropped after many delays.

El Patron also had a checkered past with former AEW and WWE star Saraya and that relationship did not end well either.

The Dogs win the AEW Trios titles on Collision

The Dogs, the faction with David Finlay, Gabe Kidd, and Clark Connors, won the AEW Trios titles last night during Collision, just 24 hours before Dynasty.

It was a short run with the titles for JetSpeed and Mistico, holding on to the titles for just 25 days. Kevin Knight was originally part of the team until he was replaced by the Mexican star.

For The Dogs, this is their first run with any title in AEW.

Gunnar Eudy, one of the sons of soon-to-be WWE Hall of Famer Sid Vicious, revealed in a video on Instagram that the family has invited Seth, an individual who served as a “coach” to Sid, to come to WrestleMania weekend with them.

The Eudy family arranged a video call with Seth’s family and broke the news to him that he is going to Las Vegas to attend the Hall of Fame to watch his favorite wrestler get inducted as well as go to WrestleMania.

Seth was a neighbor to Sid and his family in the West Memphis area back in the day and had a few televised appearances as well.

On an episode of Nitro in December 1999, Seth was introduced by Mike Tenay as Sid’s “coach” during a backstage segment where Seth proclaimed that Sid Vicious was his favorite wrestler. Seth also walked down with Sid that night for a match against Dr. Death Steve Williams.

Around 3,000 WrestleMania tickets sold in the last three days

WrestleMania 42

WWE has moved nearly 3,000 tickets for WrestleMania in three days according to the latest numbers from @WrestleTix.

WrestleMania Saturday has finally broke the 40,000 mark and stands at 40,610, with just over 1,200 tickets sold in 72 hours.

WrestleMania Sunday is at 42,700 tickets distributed and WWE moved around 1,700 in the last three days for night two.

For both nights, Allegiant Stadium is configured for 45,767 seats, around 20,000 short of its capacity.

WrestleMania 42 will be the least-attended WrestleMania in a stadium on each night ever (excluding COVID) unless they break the 54,000 number, which was the attendance for WrestleMania XIX in Seattle.

In a bid to boost attendance, WWE is running several discounts for both nights, with combo tickets providing the best value at record-low prices.

Last year’s show drew 7,921 fans while the 2024 edition had 6,619.

Tickets for Dynasty are still available starting from CA $41.65 on Ticketmaster.ca.
