WWE WrestleMania Backlash 2022 PPV Pick’em report

Hello everybody! It’s @TheMagnumDA with yet another installment of the PPV Pick’em report. Tonight, it will be a classic one-on-one battle between yours truly and the Editor of Wrestling Online, Colin Vassallo. I walked out of WrestleMania with the WOPC Championship, but Colin wants one more crack at the gold…and who am I to turn down a challenge? Challenge accepted!

ON WITH THE PICKS!!

Happy Corbin vs. Madcap Moss

Colin: Ugh. Interest level in this one is zero. Nothing personal, but anything Corbin just doesn’t excite me. Madcap wins.

Magnum: I love me some Madcap. Ever since he took that bump on his head in Saudi Arabia, I’ve been a fan of this guy. He’s gotta be tough to survive that! I’ll go with Madcap and the continued push.

Bobby Lashley vs. Omos (with MVP)

Colin: Another ugh. Lashley deserves to be in a better place than this. Omos should be in NXT and try to get better. Yeah he’s a big man and there’s potential, but he’s miles away. Teaming Omos with MVP was a good move because MVP can talk. I’m thinking Omos picks up the win here.

Magnum: I gotta believe that MVP becomes the x-factor here. Lashley got the win at Mania, but tonight belongs to the big man, Omos.

“I Quit” match for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship
Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Ronda Rousey

Colin: I am so NOT invested in this for some reason. Rousey’s return has so far fallen flat in my opinion. Maybe wrong person to feud with? I dunno, it just doesn’t seem as special as the first time around. Can’t think that Rousey will say “I quit” here so I’m expecting a title change #ANDNEW.

Magnum: Yeah, this is another case of WrestleMania revenge. I expect Ronda to dominate this match and beat Charlotte handily. It’d be hilarious if Ronda got screwed again, though. Still, I’ll take Rousey.

Cody Rhodes vs. Seth “Freakin” Rollins

Colin: You’d think that Rollins will get the win here and then go for the final match and wrap up the feud, but I will be super surprised if Cody loses. I’m hoping they build him with a proper run and then challenge for the WWE title. Cody wins.

Magnum: Cody looks like he’s on track to win this and move on to Money in the Bank. Is he the one who can dethrone Roman Reigns? Time will tell. For now, I’ll take Rhodes to win this rematch.

AJ Styles vs. Edge – Damien Priest barred from Ringside

Colin: This will be a good one. I like heel Edge and I can think of one or two other people who can join his Judgment Day faction. Having said that, AJ needs a good win and hopefully he gets one tonight. Styles wins.

Magnum: This HAS to be better than their Mania match. Just because Damien Priest can’t be at ringside…doesn’t mean that Rhea Ripley can’t be there. Or Ciampa…or even Finn Balor. I’ll take Edge in this one, and I think he’ll introduce someone new to Judgment Day, as well.

Drew McIntyre and RK-Bro (Randy Orton and Riddle) vs. The Bloodline (Roman Reigns and The Usos (Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso)) (with Paul Heyman)

Colin: Was disappointed when they turned this into a six-man tag match. They could have easily used Shinsuke Nakamura as a placeholder for a singles match against Reigns for this show. Six matches and just one title match? Come on! I’m keeping RK-Bro and Drew for the win, with one of the Usos taking the pin.

Magnum: Yeah, this could be the match where The Bloodline finally show some vulnerability. I think this sets up a summer program with Drew/Roman and Usos/RK-Bro. I like Drew, Orton, and Riddle in this six-man tag match.

Alright folks, that’s going to do it for us! Enjoy the show, and we’ll see you next time for the PPV Pick’em report! @TheMagnumDA signing off.
