WWE Elimination Chamber 2023 PPV Pick’em report

Hello everybody! Bonjour a tous! It’s @TheMagnumDA with this month’s edition of the PPV Pick’em report. Tonight, we’re heading north of the border for the ELIMINATION CHAMBER, live from the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Tonight is the final stop on the road to WrestleMania – either myself, Big Bad LeRoy Jenkins, or Colin will be left standing as the WOPC Champion.

For this evening’s report, we’re going to use “Confidence Pool” rules, meaning each prediction will carry a weight of 1-5 points. There’s also going to be a bonus point available for each Chamber match. As always, a tie means that Colin retains the WOPC title. What are we waiting for?

ON WITH THE PICKS! EN AVANT LES SELECTIONS!

Edge and Beth Phoenix vs. The Judgment Day (Finn Bálor and Rhea Ripley) (with Damian Priest and Dominik Mysterio)

Colin: At some point, The Grit Couple have to get payback. How many times are Judgment Day gonna write them off TV without finally getting what they deserve? I can’t see Edge and Phoenix losing here. Might not be the best outcome for Ripley heading into WrestleMania, but Balor can eat the pin in this one. Edge and Beth victorious – three points.

LeRoy: I’m going to kick things off with the full monty – I am taking the Judgement Day, and I am going to put five points on it. Big time momentum going into Mania.

Magnum: In my mind, this war is far from over. I agree with Colin that Edge and Beth are going to get their revenge, but it’s going to happen at WrestleMania. As for tonight? I’ve gotta believe that Judgement Day holds the cards here. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if this match leads us straight to Hell…in a Cell…at WrestleMania. Rhea and Finn win – three points.

Bobby Lashley vs. Brock Lesnar

Colin: Why are they revisiting this? I’m not sure. After last night’s Smackdown, a Brock vs Bray match sounds exciting but not sure having two babyfaces vs each other is a good idea. Brock needs to move on from Lashley and vice versa. I’m actually thinking Lashley is going to win this one with the help of the reunited Hurt Business. Bobby wins – one point.

LeRoy: I like Brock here, but I’m not as confident with this pick as I am with others. I’m going to put two points on this one.

Magnum: I don’t mind that they’re ending this series at the Chamber. Honestly, a Lion’s Den match at Mania would’ve been really cool. That said, it sounds like Bray Wyatt is getting a piece of the winner here, and that will likely be Brock Lesnar. Colin believes that the Hurt Business will be involved…but I’m inclined to believe their reunion happens after this match. Lesnar wins – I’ll put four points on it.

Men’s Elimination Chamber – WWE United States Championship
Austin Theory (c) vs. Seth “Freakin” Rollins vs. Johnny Gargano vs. Bronson Reed vs. Damian Priest vs. Montez Ford

Bonus Question: Who is the runner-up in this match?

Colin: I’m liking Austin Theory as the champ. Credit to WWE for making this title seem more important than it really is lately. All solid workers and I’m sure we’re going to see some crazy spots. Looking at you Mr. Ford! Picking Theory to retain the title (two points) and he will be against Seth Rollins as the final two. Then, hopefully, Rollins is out of this title picture once and for all.

LeRoy: I am going to also take Theory to retain – three points on it. I think it comes down to him and Johnny Gargano. In the end, Theory retains and moves on to John Cena at WrestleMania.

Magnum: I really, really want to roll with Montez Ford here. I keep thinking that Rollins will be paired with Logan Paul at Mania, while Austin Theory will likely be matched up with John Cena. If that’s the case, Theory doesn’t need the title for that high-profile bout. Of course, that would open up the possibility for anyone else to take it. Why not Tez? I’ve gotta believe they’ve got bigger plans for him, as a singles star. This would be the match to launch him into the stratosphere. You know what? Screw it. I’m taking Montez Ford to pin Austin Theory, but I’m only risking two points on it.

Women’s Elimination Chamber – Winner challenges the WWE Raw Women’s Champion at WrestleMania XXXIX
Asuka vs. Liv Morgan vs. Nikki Cross vs. Raquel Rodriguez vs. Natalya vs. Carmella

Bonus Question: Who is the runner-up in this match?

Colin: For me there’s no other winner in this match except Asuka. I love the murder clown version of Asuka and she should get the W here – four points on it. There’s no way anyone from the Smackdown side is winning this one for sure. Raquel Rodriguez will go all the way with Asuka as the final two.

LeRoy: I actually like Asuka here in this match. She might use that new look to turn heel soon, especially if she’s going to face Bianca at WrestleMania. I’ll take Asuka to beat Carmella – four points on it.

Magnum: I gotta roll with LeRoy here – at first, I wanted to believe that Carmella’s return meant that she would get the title match with Bianca that never happened at Summerslam years ago. That said, they’ve made Asuka look incredibly strong in recent weeks, and if I’m not mistaken…Bianca and Asuka hasn’t happened on a major stage yet. So I’ll take Asuka to defeat Carmella and win the Chamber match to go on to WrestleMania – to quote Luniz, I got five on it.

Undisputed WWE Universal Championship
Roman Reigns (c) (with Paul Heyman) vs. Sami Zayn

Colin: Oh man. Would love for Sami to win this one. But you know he’s not. Roman is going to get nuclear heat. Nuclear. And when he finally beats him, I expect chairs and shit to fly in the ring. Jey Uso is going to show up and he’s going to turn on Zayn. Let’s hope Kevin Owens is there for the save and send the crowd home happy. Roman retains – five points.

LeRoy: I don’t mind being the odd man out here – SAMI WINS!!! I’m only putting a point on it, but at least I have the balls to pick him.

Magnum: This is it. This is finally it. The one the WORLD has been waiting for. Sami couldn’t have said it better last night…Mania’s once in a year, but this is once in a lifetime. I know that The Usos vs. KO/Sami has been discussed for WrestleMania, so to get there…one has to believe that both Jey Uso and Kevin Owens will be involved in the match somehow. Whether it’s intentional or not, I’ve gotta believe that Jey Uso is going to cost Sami the title with a Superkick. Afterwards, Jey leaves heartbroken. Roman and Solo proceed to destroy Sami…until Kevin Owens appears to save the day. That sets up the embrace between Sami and KO to end the show. Now that’s one hell of an ending…but I’m sure they’ve got something better in store for us. So begrudgingly, I’m going to take Roman, but I’m only going to put one point on it. I’d love to be wrong, I really would.

Okay folks, that’s going to do it for the Pick’em Crew here at Wrestling-Online. Please enjoy the show and we’ll see you in April for WRESTLEMANIA!! @TheMagnumDA signing off.
