Hello everybody! It’s @TheMagnumDA with you once again for NIGHT TWO of the WrestleMania XLI Pick’em report. Now, these predictions were written earlier in the week, so unfortunately I won’t be able to discuss what happened in night one.
But MAN, what a night it was! New champions! Unbelievable twists and turns! So many great cameos!
Alright, alright, I’m taking the piss.
As of this writing, I have NO idea what happened. But one thing is for sure…this contest is far from over, because tonight’s matches are worth DOUBLE the points! Two points for each correct pick – that does exclude bonus questions, which remain only one point. Colin’s defense of the WOPC Championship continues…right now!
ON WITH THE PICKS FOR NIGHT TWO!!!
Women’s World Championship (Raw) – Triple Threat Match
Iyo Sky (c) vs. Bianca Belair vs. Rhea Ripley
Magnum: This match is rumored to open Night Two, and I’ll be honest…what a hell of a way to kick things off. Rhea’s been on top of the Women’s wrestling world for the last three Mania events, but this time she’s only got a 33% chance of winning. Personally, I don’t think she’s as much of a contender this time as she is a disruption. Based on how this thing has played out, I’m inclined to believe that Rhea will somehow cost one of these two women the match. How? I’m not sure. I do think, though, that Jade Cargill is also going to play a factor in this match. Look for Iyo to somehow squeak out the victory and retain her World Championship.
Colin: The way they built this whole program somewhat ignoring Iyo and focusing on just Ripley and Belair makes me think that the Genius of the Sky will retain the title as the bad blood between Ripley and Belair will cause them to lose focus on actually winning the title. I’m hoping Iyo wins because what was the point in giving her the title just weeks before Mania then? Iyo Sky retains.
Bonus Question #1 – Who takes the losing fall in this match?
Magnum: Rhea Ripley (Iyo continues the winning streak against her)
Colin: Bianca Belair
WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship
Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez (c) vs. TBD and Lyra Valkyria
Magnum: Originally this was set to be Lyra Valkyria and Bayley challenging the Judgment Day. For reasons unknown, Bayley was written off the card and now we have a mystery tag team partner. I’ve heard rumors that it would be Becky Lynch. If that’s the case, I’ll take Lynch and Valkyria to win the titles. Screw it, I’ll take Lyra and the mystery partner whoever it is. Mystery partner gets the pin.
Colin: With Bayley out of the match, I guess the only logical replacement is the return of Becky Lynch. Two Irish stars teaming together. Cute. But sucks for Bayley. Liv is one of the hottest acts on WWE TV right now and I don’t think they will take the tag team titles away from Judgment Day just yet. Liv and Raquel to win.
Bonus Question #2 – Who gets the winning fall in this match?
Magnum: Mystery partner
Colin: Liv Morgan
AJ Styles vs. Logan Paul
Magnum: I have a feeling that this could be a show stealer. These two are very similar in style and ability, plus whenever Logan Paul is in the ring, something ridiculous and crazy almost always happens. I feel like they’ll have something big planned for Logan down the road, so a victory at Mania will set the stage for whatever he does next. Begrudgingly, I will take Logan Paul to win this one.
Colin: Say what you want about Logan Paul, but the guy brings it in the ring. Always. He’s a damn good athlete and “gets” it. I think Paul is due a win lately, doesn’t he? Sucks it has to be against Styles. Okay, I changed my mind, AJ wins.
Fatal 4 Way – WWE Intercontinental Championship
Bron Breakker (c) vs. Penta vs. Finn Bálor vs. Dominik Mysterio
Magnum: This might be one of the toughest picks of the entire weekend. I feel like both Bron and Penta deserve to get their Mania moment, but the real story of this match is going to unfold between Finn and Dom. Earlier in the report, I mentioned that it’s shaping up to be a glorious weekend for the Judgment Day. Unfortunately, that’s going to come at the expense of one of their own members. I predict that, by hook or by crook, Dirty Dom is going to walk out of Mania as the NEW Intercontinental Champion.
Colin: This could be a show stealer in my opinion. They all can work. I could see it going both ways: either Breakker retain or Penta wins. Judging by the Steiner math that Breakker quoted us on Friday, I think I’ll take his chances better and retains.
Bonus Question #3 – Who takes the losing fall in this match?
Magnum: Finn Bálor
Colin: Dom Mysterio
Randy Orton Open Challenge
Magnum: An injury has taken Kevin Owens out of this match. It could be anybody in KO’s place, including Sami Zayn, or a returning Rusev. Either way I’m sticking with RKO. Orton wins.
Colin: This should be interesting but I feel it might be a letdown on who takes the open challenge. If it’s someone new or returning, I don’t see them taking a loss and kill their momentum immediately. It will probably end up being Sami Zayn. Who knows. Anyway, Orton wins.
Sin City Street Fight
Damian Priest vs. Drew McIntyre
Magnum: While I understand Drew’s frustration with not being in the title picture this year, it does make some sense that he gets a chance to redeem himself against the man who took the World Heavyweight Championship from him last year. Damian’s flown under the radar this first quarter of 2025, but I expect bigger things from him later in the year. As for tonight? This is McIntyre’s night for redemption. I’ll take Drew to win – should be a wild and crazy hardcore match.
Colin: This was not a program I expected to be honest and it’s not really a match that interests me despite both of them having worked hard to make it work. The stipulation of a street fight makes it better for sure. Drew wins.
Undisputed WWE Championship
Cody Rhodes (c) vs. John Cena
Magnum: Even though some of us (wink wink) were anticipating it, I don’t think anyone could have truly prepared themselves for what John Cena did in Toronto. At the same time, you could almost sense the entitlement in his voice after he lost the Royal Rumble. That set the stage for one of the biggest heel turns of all time. What followed were some pretty scathing remarks to the WWE Universe, which is crazy because they actually EMBRACED his comeback and were happy to see him! Now? Fans are more than happy to return to 2016 mode (when they chanted “John Cena Sucks” to his theme song). Part of me wants to believe that this will play out like Mania XVIII (when Hogan lost to Rock and then quickly turned back into a babyface), but there’s another part of me that thinks we’re just getting started with this run. On that belief alone, I’m going to take John Cena to win his 17th World Championship and defeat Cody Rhodes in one of the most historic Mania endings we’ll ever see.
Colin: Somewhere I saw the John Cena side plates for this WWE title run and I’m like nooooooo! Listen, I want Cena to break this record but my story would have been a bit different, making him wait until the very last match to win it. But that was if he was still a babyface. Now he’s a heel. Cody got the better part of Cena the last two weeks on Raw which usually doesn’t bold well for the champion. Cody has been a fantastic champion but I think outside interference from someone like The Rock will cost Cody the title tonight. John Cena goes 17.
