Kenny Omega says he is leaving NJPW

In what could be one of the biggest stories of the year, former IWGP Heavyweight champion Kenny Omega said that he is leaving New Japan Pro Wrestling once his contract expires at the end of January.

Omega signed a one-year deal with NJPW last year after Wrestle Kingdom 12, putting all rumors to rest that he would be appearing at the Royal Rumble.

With now Omega telling Tokyo Sports that he is leaving, it is only natural that those rumors come back from the dead. Tokyo Sports said that besides WWE, All Eite Wrestling is also a possibility for Omega, where his Elite co-workers are starting a new chapter in their career.

Omega told Tokyo Sports that he needs a break from NJPW and feels that there is no place for him in the promotion.
