Ric Flair appearing at the NWA’s 73rd anniversary PPV

The NWA announced that 16-time champion Ric Flair will be appearing at the company’s 73rd anniversary pay-per-view next week.

“It was always historic. But now #NWA73 at The Chase will be LEGENDARY. The rumors are true. He’s finally HOME,” a tweet from the NWA said yesterday.

Flair, who won 10 NWA titles during his career, has not made any appearances for the promotion since its rebirth and his name is closely associated with the NWA of the 80s. Flair made a surprise appearance last week at the AAA Triplemania event in Mexico City, aligning himself with Andrade. This was his first non-WWE appearance in many, many years.

The pay-per-view will take place on August 29 at the Chase Park Plaza Hotel in St. Louis, Missouri. It will be headlined by Nick Aldis defending his NWA title against Trevor Murdoch in a title vs career match.
