Major promotions react to the passing of Jim Crockett Jr

WWE, AEW, and Impact Wrestling all acknowledged the passing of Jim Crockett Jr who passed away yesterday. Crockett headed the family business Jim Crockett Promotions and eventually sold it to Ted Turner who renamed it to WCW in 1988.

“WWE is saddened to learn that Jim Crockett Jr. passed away at the age of 76. WWE extends its condolences to Crockett Jr.’s family and friends,” a short statement on WWE’s social media read. A small story was also uploaded on WWE.COM paying tribute to Crockett Jr.

“AEW and the wrestling world mourn the passing of the legendary Mid-Atlantic Wrestling and NWA promoter Jim Crockett, Jr,” AEW wrote in a post on Twitter. “Our thoughts are with his family, his friends and his fans.”

Impact Wrestling also tweeted a message after the news became public. “We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of legendary wrestling promoter Jim Crockett Jr. We send our sincerest condolences to his family.”

The Cauliflower Alley Club also sent its condolences through a social media post. “Everyone here at the CAC is saddened to hear that legendary promoter Jim Crockett Jr has passed away at 76. We thank him for all the years of wonderful memories and send out our sincerest condolences to his family, friends & wrestling fans the world over. R.I.P. Mr Crockett,” the message said.
