Judge rules that Jimmy Snuka is not mentally competent to stand trial

WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka will not stand trial in the 1983 homicide of his former mistress Nancy Argentino as earlier today, Judge Kelly L Banach ruled that he is not mentally competent to stand trial.

The defendant’s expert-paid witness Dr. Frank Dattilio managed to convince the judge that Snuka suffers from dementia and is unaware of the charges he’s being faced with. While on the stand, Dr. Dattilio said that Snuka’s brain is damaged beyond repair and he has no idea what’s going on around him.

The psychologist paid by the prosecution said that while there is some damage to Snuka’s brain, it’s all related to age and there doesn’t seem to be anything that would prevent the former wrestler to stand trial.

“Unfortunately, justice suffers when it’s delayed,” the judge is quoted by the Morning Call newspaper.

The investigation of the cold case was re-opened in 2013 by Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin after some excellent work by a couple of journalists working for The Morning Call newspaper who exposed a never-before-seen autopsy report that labeled the death as a homicide.
