House Democrats move to impeach Linda McMahon from Secretary of Education

Former WWE CEO and now U.S. Secretary of Education in Donald Trump’s cabinet, Linda McMahon, is facing a move from the Democrats to be impeached.

House Democrats introduced articles for impeachment against McMahon for trying to dismantle the Department of Education “illegally and misleading,” even though it was President Trump who ordered McMahon to close the department once he appointed her after he won the election.

McMahon makes history for all the wrong reasons by becoming the first Secretary of Education facing impeachment proceedings.

The Democrats are basing their case on three points: unlawful reassignments, misleading Congress, and breach of public trust.

In a simple response on X, McMahon wrote, “To the Democrats in Congress: do better.”

McMahon was confirmed Secretary of Education in April 2025. She had previously served as the Administrator of the Small Business Administration under Trump’s first cabinet.
