Dwayne Johnson’s series Young Rock “on the bubble” over at NBC

Deadline is reporting that Young Rock is faxing the axe on NBC with the show “on the bubble.”

The third season of the Dwayne Johnson-fronted series ended in February of this year but NBC put it on Friday, head-to-head with Smackdown and on a night typically reserved for drama shows which are getting to their end of life.

Season three of Young Rock failed to cross the 2 million viewership mark, something it did nine times out of 12 episodes last season. Young Rock season three averaged 1,431,000 viewers over 13 episodes, down significantly from the 2,152,000 of season two.

Deadline added that little has been heard about Young Rock, suggesting it is probably not returning. But the series has great DVR numbers and with Johnson at the helm, it would not be surprising if it is renewed.
