Top 5 reasons to watch WWE in 2021

For over 40 years, the WWE has captured the world’s imagination.

Each WWE era has brought something new and creative. There was the iconic ‘Attitude Era’, which witnessed the birth of legends like “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and The Rock. Shortly after this came “Ruthless Aggression”, a fondly remembered period in the WWE universe where Batista, John Cena, Brock Lesnar, and Randy Orton dominated television and created childhood memories for a whole generation of millennial fans.

Now, of course, the WWE is in the middle of ‘The New Era’, which began in 2016. During this time, a whole new wave of talented stars and storylines have been introduced by the company.

So, whether you’re curious about becoming a WWE fan or a fan from a previous era looking to get back into the wrestling universe, here are the top five reasons to watch WWE in 2021.

  • You can bet on the matches

For many people, the concept of betting in WWE sounds crazy and alien. Naturally, they will ask the question: “How can you bet on something that’s scripted?”. But you must remember, nobody aside from the stars and backstage writers know the outcome – so, it’s basically the same as sports betting (when you really think about it).

Now, online WWE betting is starting to grow in popularity. This isn’t surprising, as it adds extra excitement to matches, whether it’s a PPV main event or a standard match on Friday Night Smackdown! Also, it allows WWE fans to put their knowledge and predictions to the test.

  • Many WWE legends are still part of the modern product

If you’re a fan of WWE from the past, here’s some great news: some WWE legends are still wrestling to the present day.

The “Rated-R Superstar” Edge has, just over a year ago, made an incredible return from his retirement in 2011. Many never thought that they would see Edge in a WWE ring, but he is now back in better shape than ever performing with some of the new talents while also putting on matches with fellow legends like Randy Orton.

Also, there are icons like Goldberg and Brock Lesnar who are still involved with WWE today, albeit on part-time contracts.

Interestingly, Goldberg’s contract (which lasts until 2023) states that he only has to work two matches a year. Although that’s not a lot of matches, it’s still a privilege to have Goldberg around – plus, the guy’s 54 years old, so he needs extra time off!

Also, some big names (cough, CM Punk) are rumored to return this year, so there’s plenty of reason to be excited!

  • There’s a lot of new talent

From Apollo Crews to Drew McIntyre, there are some incredible talents in WWE’s current roster who can produce epic five-star matches.

  • Watching RAW and Smackdown has never been easier

You can watch RAW and Smackdown on USA Network or the ‘WWE Network’ (which is WWE’s online subscription service). This makes the new product easily accessible – you can watch it anywhere, any time!

  • There’s a variety of titles to compete for

In the past, many people would wish that WWE had more titles available for superstars to win. Well, their wish has been granted! Now, there’s a whole host of titles, including The WWE Championship, United States Championship, Universal Championship, Intercontinental Championship, and the RAW Tag Team Championship.

After reading these tips, you’re virtually a pro now.
