The early favourites for the Royal Rumble 2021

It’s certainly been a 2020 to forget, so what better way to get the new year off to a good start than with the Royal Rumble.

This year is going to be more significant than ever and everyone at the WWE will be looking to make sure it’s one to remember for both the men’s and women’s event.

The anticipation is already building, and what’s more plenty of bookmakers are already having their say on who they believe will be the winner.

With just a few months to go until the big January event, we take a look at the favourites ahead of the turn of the year…

Men’s Royal Rumble 2021 favourites

It’s one of the most popular wrestling events to bet on as anyone could win it, and more and more bookmakers are now starting to offer odds on it. Sites such as Free Bets have a host of bookies with Royal Rumble markets. They review all the most popular bookmakers to find the best ones for customers, and what they have found is that across the board, Edge is the current favourite to take Royal Rumble at 5/1.

The former WWE Heavyweight Champion is just ahead of Big E at 11/2 with bookmakers like William Hill and Ladbrokes and has experience of winning the event, last doing so back in 2010 in Georgia.

Last year’s winner, Drew McIntyre is priced at 20/1 with the same bookies while Roman Reigns, the current SmackDown Universal Champion, and former Royal Rumble Winner is priced at 8/1 with Virgin Bet.

The bookies are giving Keith Lee a good chance of winning, as well as Brock Lesnar, while veterans Goldberg and The Rock are priced at 10/1 and 14/1 respectfully with bookmakers like Paddy Power and Betfair.

If you’re looking for an outside shot, Randy Orton is at 40/1, with John Cena 33/1, while a real surprise would be Vince or Shane McMahon who are both priced at 250/1.

Odds are correct at the time of writing however it’s worth shopping around to ensure you get the best odds available for your selection. There are also numerous welcome bonuses and sign up offers available so keep a look out for those.

Women’s Royal Rumble 2021 favourites

Last year saw Charlotte Flair win the Women’s Royal Rumble, but she’s way behind the main pack according to the bookmakers this year. She’s priced at 16/1 with Sasha Banks the current favourite at 9/2.

Former UFC star Ronda Rousey is a 6/1 shot with Ladbrokes, just ahead of Rhea Ripley at 7/1 with the same bookie. Both Shayna Baszler and Alexa Bliss are also being tipped among the favourites with the bookmakers, while the likes of Ember Moon (16/1) and Bianca Belair (14/1) are being considered more outsiders for the January event.

Asuka shouldn’t be ruled out having previously won the event in 2018 and the current Raw Women’s Championship holder, while if you’re looking for a real long shot, you can back Zelina Vega at 100/1 or Stephanie McMahon at 125/1 with betting sites like William Hill and Ladbrokes, in what would be a real shock twist.

It’s all set to be an incredibly exciting event, with the WWE already saying there will be plenty of twists and turns in this year’s event with a number of surprises up their sleeve. We can’t wait and hopefully it’ll set the tone for a good year both inside and outside of the ring!
