John Cena – a much-awaited return to WWE?

WWE has always enjoyed a huge fan following across all age groups for the last 60 years. It’s an edge-of-the-seat sport that has spectators screaming their heads off all along. John Cena is one of the notorious professional wrestlers who have been away from the ring due to his scheduling. As you know, he had been busy appearing in many movies, such as F9, the Suicide Squad, and The Marine.

John Cena: The Star Shining Bright

Undoubtedly, John Cena is one of the wrestling legends. This multifaceted personality, apart from being a 16-time World Champion, is also a New York Times best-selling author. His grants for the Make-A-Wish Foundation have set new records: a testimony to his generosity. His album has been a big hit, and he has also been a success on the silver screen. In a career spanning almost two decades, he has been the sport’s mascot.

The Journey

There was never any doubting of what John was capable of achieving as a wrestler. Therefore, it’s no surprise that he’s a living legend. We knew that we were witnessing the one who would dominate WWE after Cena got the better of Kurt Angle, emerging as a star as a result. With his controlled aggression, John gained a lot of respect from his peers after going one up on Kurt Angle. The star from Massachusetts rose like a meteor as the ‘Doctor of Thuganomics.’ He reached the peak of his stardom by inflicting a crushing defeat on JBL to win his first WWE Championship at WrestleMania 21.

Cena was no one-hit star. He threw an open challenge at anyone who believed that he could be defeated in the ring. Cena, who stands for “Hustle, Loyalty, Respect,” has earned himself a massive fan base he calls “Cenation.” John took no shortcuts in his career and his share of defeats as well against the likes of The Rock, Batista, Triple H, and a few of the new kids on the block, Roman Reigns, Kevin Owens, and others.

John’s an epitome of undying spirit and has the message “Never Give Up” for his admirers. He’s had a successful stint at Hollywood as well, featuring in many hits. Though he has his detractors whom you’ll often notice chanting “Cena sucks,” none can ignore his success.

The Unforgettable Matches

We leave ourselves open to debate with our picks, but we still feel that two of his matches deserve special mention. Here they are:

Against AJ Styles (Royal Rumble 2017)

Cena defeated AJ Styles in style and equaled Ric Flair’s record for the maximum number of world titles in WWE history. The fight was a stunning show of superlative skills from Cena. What made the match a classic was Cena’s ability to respond to how the fans were reacting and changing the match’s momentum in real-time. Despite his haters, this fight put Cena firmly in the WWE spotlight.

Against Batista (Over the Limit 2010)

This match saw Cena defend his WWE Championship against Batista in a match with an “I Quit” end. The match saw superb maneuvers, and with superb storytelling, the fight had the spectators electrified. Both the fighters brought out their entire arsenal of signature moves, and the match ended with Batista screaming “I Quit” when Cena threw him through the floor of the entrance ramp.

Is he coming back?

After a gap of more than a year, John Cena is poised to make a comeback to the ring. When might that be? Allegedly, we might not even have to wait that long as he plans to make his appearance in the SummerSlam.

You must be looking forward to Cena’s comeback eagerly. Every fight featuring him is sure to garner top viewership. But what if you’re traveling then? In many unfortunate cases, streaming services might become unavailable depending on your location. But there is no need to worry: a VPN for streaming can solve this problem. This tool allows you to beat geo-restrictions and access any streaming platform you want. The best part: it does not matter where you actually are. Thus, you will have no issue accessing Peacock Premium or another provider you have chosen.

The edge-of-the-seat sport of WWE is surely a top entertainer. John Cena is the sport’s undisputed star despite his detractors. His humane side is much loved and admired by his fans, who eagerly await his return after a year-long hiatus. Here’s looking forward to many exciting fights ahead.
