Sting makes surprise appearance after Collision tapings during Eddie Gilbert tribute

Sting made a surprise appearance last night during the Collision tapings at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Following the tapings, AEW held a tribute to Eddie Gilbert, with AEW President Tony Khan, Jeff Jarrett, Eddie’s brother Doug Gilbert, Tommy Rich, and Sting appearing.

Eddie, who died in February 1995, was the original booker for Eastern Championship Wrestling, which later changed to Extreme Championship Wrestling when Tod Gordon hired Paul Heyman to replace him after he fired Gilbert.

Sting worked with Gilbert in the UWF where he formed part of Gilbert’s Hot Stuff International, Inc. faction which also included the Ultimate Warrior as Blade Runner Rock, Rick Steiner, and Missy Hyatt.
