Report states Jacques Rougeau was almost kicked out of the Redemption pay-per-view

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer is reporting that Jacques Rougeau was almost kicked out of Centre Bell last weekend prior to the Redemption pay-per-view.

AEW honored the legacy of the Rougeaus during the Buy In show in a segment that nearly never made it because of a “temper tantrum” which happened backstage.

Meltzer notes that Jacques gave AEW a tribute video that he wanted them to play during the show, but the video was apparently too long, featured footage which AEW had no rights to rebroadcast, music which was not licensed, and some AI-generated graphics.

The story goes that the powers that be did not like the video and were not ready to green-light it for the show, resulting in Jacques complaining big time about it.

Enough noise was created by the man formerly known as The Mountie that he was threatened that security would eject him from the arena if he does not calm down.

However, Rougeau rejected Meltzer’s report in a post on social media today, saying that Meltzer was slandering him “on all American sites with false information.”

“I am amazed to see keyboard warriors having the right to spread false news without being sanctioned or getting their fingers slapped,” he wrote, adding a photo of Meltzer with a long nose.
