Report: Chris Jericho’s AEW contract frozen due to time off

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Wrestling is now reporting that Chris Jericho’s AEW contract has been frozen to compensate for the time off he took early last year and remains under an AEW deal.

Jericho’s contract was originally scheduled to expire on January 1 but the former multi-time champion remained a part of the AEW roster website even after that date.

The Canadian star is rumored to be on the way to WWE one way or another, but with his contract frozen, it could be a while before he shows up unless a deal is worked out for him to leave.

Jericho has not been on AEW television since April, with his last gimmick being part of The Learning Tree with Bryan Keith and Big Bill.

He is currently in the United Kingdom touring with Fozzy until February 21.
