Omega vs Danielson goes to a time-limit draw on Dynamite: Grand Slam

The highly-anticipated match between AEW World champion Kenny Omega and Bryan Danielson ended in a time-limit draw last night on Dynamite: Grand Slam.

The two went toe-to-toe for 30 minutes, which is more time allocated than what AEW usually allocates for non-title matches, typically 20 minutes.

The fans, along with Danielson and Omega, got a one-minute warning on the 29th minute and despite the change in pace to try and end the match, the bell rang, signaling the end. The ending did not go over well with the crowd who booed loudly.

The crowd was hot throughout the match starting from the entrances and cheered the first lock up between the two like it was a title change.

Following the match, The Young Bucks and Adam Cole came out to save Omega and then hit a triple super kick on Danielson. Eventually Danielson got some help in the form of Christian Cage and Jurassic Express who evened the odds.

The non-title match was obviously match one out of what will be a series of matches between the two with the title to be on the line down the road.

This was Danielson’s first match since late April where he lost to Roman Reigns on Smackdown.
