NJPW TV champion Jeff Cobb wants Forbidden Door match

Current NJPW TV champion Jeff Cobb wants to go through the forbidden door and issued an open challenge for anyone who is “elite.”

Speaking at the post-Dominion press conference after he successfully defeated Tomohiro Ishii to retain his title, Cobb said it’s that season again and is ready for a challenge.

“If you’re elite, challenge me,” Cobb said. “The big shiny golden belt that symbolizes NJPW TV is calling. I’ll make you famous.”

It would not be the first time for Cobb to appear on AEW television as he already has several matches under his belt with the promotion. He actually made his debut in February 2020 and appeared as recently as the May 15 episode of Dynamite. Cobb also took part in the 2022 Forbidden Door pay-per-view along as part of the United Empire in a triple threat match against FTR and Roppongi Vice.
