Nerve issues preventing Buddy Matthews from returning to the ring

AEW star Buddy Matthews revealed that he still has nerve issues which is causing numbness in his leg, with recovery taking much longer than anticipated.

Responding to a fan on Instagram who asked how recovery is going, the former AEW Trios champion wrote, “It’s been a long process! Still having nerve issues with a lot of numbness! But accepted that it’s gonna take time.”

The Australian added that he can only controls what he can but he thought he would have returned to the ring by now.

Matthews has been out of action since mid-February after suffering an ankle injury during his entrance at AEW Grand Slam: Australia. He still had the match against Kazuchika Okada on that night.

He underwent ankle surgery in August.
