AEW’s Jon Moxley will return to the NJPW ring today as he faces Lance Archer on night one of Wrestle Kingdom 14.

Moxley’s match versus Archer is for the IWGP United States title, a title which Moxley held before vacating it because he couldn’t travel to Japan a few months ago. This will be a Texas death match and a winner can only be decided by a ten count knockout or by submission. During his indie days, Moxley was known for his many death matches and his match against Kenny Omega at Full Gear in November brought back some of those memories.

This will be his first participation at Wrestle Kingdom, NJPW’s version of WrestleMania. Moxley’s wife, WWE’s Renee Young, has also traveled to Japan to see her husband wrestle live.
