Matt Hardy officially a free agent

Matt Hardy is officially a free agent as the former multi-time tag team champion has turned down the offer to sign a new deal with All Elite Wrestling.

AEW offered Hardy a new contract at the end of last month just days before his contract was about to expire and Hardy said at the time that he was evaluating all options and was thankful that the company offered him the opportunity to stay further.

“I’m looking through it,” Matt said on his podcast. “I’m like deciding what I want to do going forward. There’s obviously still some options. I got to make sure that I’m aware of the ins and outs of the contract, and I want to make sure everything is up to par as far as like what I want it to be.”

Hardy added that with a few more years left in him doing wrestling, he wants to make the most out of those years.

Matt signed with AEW in 2020 just days after he let his WWE contract expire and made his debut at Daily’s Place with his broken gimmick in front of no fans.
