Kazuchika Okada wins the Continental title from Eddie Kingston on Dynamite

Adam Copeland was not the only person to win an AEW title last night on Dynamite as newcomer Kazuchika Okada also defeated Eddie Kingston to win the Continental title.

It was a quick turnaround for Okada’s first championship in AEW, having arrived in the promotion on March 6.

Okada’s first opponent was made very clear last night as PAC came out for a stare down with the new champion following his victory.

Kingston won the Continental Crown – which unified the New Japan Strong Openwight title and the ROH World title – at Worlds End last December but last night’s match was simply for the Continental title, meaning that Kingston is still the NJPW Strong Openweight and ROH World champion and the titles are no longer unified.
