Jim Ross undergoing brain surgery next week

AEW announcer Jim Ross revealed on his latest episode of Grilling JR podcast that he will be undergoing brain surgery next week.

Ross said that surgery is scheduled for Wednesday in Norman, Oklahoma and while he can’t say he’s looking forward to it, he’s at a point where he wants to get it over and done with.

“I have never had brain surgery before. So they’re going to put a, what do they call it, A shunt? So I’m getting a shunt put in my brain,” Ross explained.

The surgery will ease the pressure on his brain by draining extra cerebrospinal fluid through a small hole in the skull via a thin tube.

“They said I’m only going to be in the hospital a day. That surprised me and made me happy, but still I would have guessed longer,” he continued.

Ross’ AEW contract wraps up this month and he added that he has not signed a new deal yet.
