Jim Ross taking time off from AEW duties due to cancer radiation treatment

While his original plan was not to miss any time whatsoever from the AEW announce desk, Jim Ross took the sensible decision to step away from his role while he undergoes radiation to treat his skin cancer.

The WWE Hall of Famer is targeting a return date of December 29, the last Dynamite of 2021 and the last one on TNT.

“Due to my skin cancer care totaling 22 radiation treatments starting Monday, I will hopefully return to the announce desk on December 29 in Jacksonville,” Ross said, adding that AEW President Tony Khan is supporting him on this strategy.

JR was diagnosed with his second skin cancer earlier this month and underwent surgery on his back earlier this week to remove two spots. His skin cancer was initially found in a growth near his ankle.

We wish JR a speedy recovery!
