French-Canadian broadcaster RDS drops AEW due to budget constraints

French-Canadian television broadcaster RDS announced on Facebook that they will not be renewing their broadcast deal with AEW for 2023 due to budget constraints.

This week’s episode of Dynamite was the channel’s last broadcast of AEW television on RDS, ending a short-lived partnership which started in August of this year. RDS did have an option year for 2023 which they decided not to pick up.

“Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for joining us tonight and the past few weeks. Sadly, Dynamite tonight was our last broadcast of AEW in French on RDS. Due to budget constraints, we unfortunately won’t be back in 2023.”

The channel is available in around 2.5 million homes and had viewers mostly from Quebec.
