Former AEW star Sadie Gibbs announces retirement

Former AEW star Sadie Gibbs announced on social media that she is retiring from professional wrestling just three and a half years after making her pro debut.

The 29-year-old British star wrote that the past year has been really confusing for her and in order for her to excel in her projects – coaching, speaking, and teaching, she has to let go.

“I love all you guys! Not just for supporting me as a wrestler but me as a person! As someone who despite what everyone expects I follow my gut my instinct and I do it with grace,” she wrote. “Everything we do isn’t forever it’s a stepping stone a chance to evolve and grow through.”

Gibbs added that her next big goal is to have a self-development book out and inspire as many lives as possible.

Gibbs signed with AEW in 2019 but was released a year later after she was stuck in the UK unable to travel for shows due to the pandemic. She previously wrestled for World Wonder Ring Stardom.
