First Double or Nothing 2024 match official after Nightingale wins TBS title

The first match for the Double or Nothing 2024 pay-per-view was made official last night after Willow Nightingale became the new TBS champion after she defeated Julia Hart.

New arrival Mercedes Mone will get first dibs despite not having wrestled once yet on AEW television and will make her in-ring debut at the Las Vegas pay-per-view next month.

Mone, decked in a long purple dress, did appear at Dynasty and came to the ring after Nightingale won the match for a face-to-face with the new champion.

The two have history together dating back to last May when they wrestled for the inaugural NJPW Strong Women’s title. Mone was supposed to win the match but broke her foot during the match, changing the outcome on the fly and Nightingale ended up winning the title.

This is Nightingale’s first run with a title in AEW.

Mone’s lack of in-ring time might be due to the fact that she might not be cleared yet. At the post-show press conference, AEW President Tony Khan was quizzed if Mone is cleared and said that she will be for the May pay-per-view.
